i was banded on monday and my list of liquids for today has V8 juice on it. I would love to have some but wonder if its too acidy for me? What do you guys think?

im there with you flem, i havent slept in bed all week either. last night i did try the couch and it was good for awhile. i lay on my side with a pillow under my belly and back against the back of the couch, a pillow between my legs and i dont move :w00t: i looked a site when everyone came down this morning!! Im trying only a small amount of tylenol today. im still a bit sore and belly is hanging with no tone at all. im just a gross site! My worst prob right now is weak legs. im a bit shakey and cant seem to build my strength. Keep going August banders!!!!! If I can do it you all can too! We will be healthier and out and about in no time!

Do I need anything official to get through airport security?

I will be flying the end of Sept and really dont want any hastles. Do I need anything official that says i have an implanted device? I have a dine out card as well as a physicians card about asparine etc. Just wondered? Thanks! -

ok, ill ask about a card when i go to the dr in two weeks. i have one card for dining out, and one card for physicians to know i cannot take asparine. -
hey tricia, i just came across your post about airport security and i noticed that you were close to my weight to start. i weighed 277 monday aug 4th when i had my surgery. my goal is 165. you look so beautiful in your photos! how long did it take you to get to 165? congratulations on you success! oh yeah, did you have to have any skin remmoval surgery or anything else? im hoping not to but will if its inevitable.

:thumbup: I agree, it sounds like she is milking you! I so sorry. I know you dont want to hear this but I really had no trouble. Considering the fact that my PMD was the one to recommend the surgery to me and was very helpful in doing whatever i needed to keep going. After reading some of these stories i see i have been very blessed with quick action all the way around. i was the one to postpone my surgery because of previously scheduled vacation. I hope it all goes better for you. Hopefully the sugeons can put a fire under her and get her moving! Good luck!:thumbup:

Tara, i had my surgery at Dover on Monday with Dr Abkin. The hospital staff was fabulous. I was very pleased! I think Morristown is over rated these days and folks are just finding that out :tongue:

I am sooooo there with you on the shake thing! surgery was monday and im just getting them down a bit now. i was told im allowed to have V8 juice, yougert, skim plus milk as well as shakes so that will add some flavor once i get that in the house.

cogratulations! i was banded monday and im pretty much where you are! its a hard week but we will get through it and get on with a healthier life! i havent been able to lay down in my bed yet without getting horrible pulling and pain. i dont sleep well in the recliner so i would love to just curl up and sleep in my bed. hopefully by the end of the weekend. im only on tylenol now so maybe ill take something stronger tonight and try again. the heat pad helps a lot.
i took off my bandages but not the steri strips, when are you supposed to take all that off? im afraid i will spout a leak from one of these holes! Good luck and keep me updated, im right there with you!

Hello all! Im so excited to be here! I was banded on Monday the 4th. Im still pretty sore and unable to sleep in my bed, mostly the recliner. Ive been walking a lot, drinking some shakes. Overall doing pretty good. I have been married forever to a wonderful man, I homeschool my five great kids 6yob, 10yog,13yog,17yob, and my 20 year old son is starting his 2nd year of pre med in college, YEAH! Im a full time mom and teacher all day and work part time nights in an awesome hosptial emergency room. We have a beautiful boxer dog named Maggie, a sweet Shi Tzu named Webster, a rabbit named Ginger and two beta fish, Opal and Sparky. I was raised in the south, planted in NJ for the last 23 years, hope to go back south again some day. This is the first week of the rest of my life and Im very excited!!!! BTW, I cant get my weight ticker to show up, what am i doing wrong?? Also, where do I get the funky August sign?? Looking forward to meeting all of you!

I so should have come here BEFORE my surgery, but oh well here i am. Im 45 years old, married to a great man for 23 years. Im a home school mom of five great kids. have gone back to work in the past year to put my son through college. i work in a hospital ER with awsome people, some who have had lap band surgery. They have been a huge encouragement to me. I have been so encouraged already through a rough day today (day four post op). I do a ton for everyone else, I given body and soul and now its my turn to take care of me. Cheers to my new, healthy body...........in progress

I have been very happy with Advanced Laproscopics Drs Abkin and Bertha. Google it, you should find them. i just had my sugery Monday:smile2:

well the clamping thing may have to due with why i am in so much pain. i had the lapband with a lot of sutures and have had horrible port pain. my friend that had the realize was perfectly fine minimal pain. i did not honestly look into that much. dr told me they were equal and i didnt question it.

i had my surgery 3 days ago and didnt know what to do either. the dr would not give his opinion. we went with the lapband because dh is in the med device industry and like to design better. whatever, i really dont know though. oh he also was gla dthat there was so much data available on the lapband.
