Be Honest- Is Banded Life Hard?
Lannae replied to ireallywannabthin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
way to go everyone!!! I know during the holidays it was really hard, I gained about 4-5pds, but usually it would be over 10 and I feel good, and I feel that I am still in an awesome place...I always get worried if I am not following the rules as I should, drink more water, do not drink .30 min after a meal...etc..I can get to relaxed, so back on track now!!!!!! and looking forward to this!! -
I agree, only a few select friends know and work friends, but for the most part...nobody knows..Its my personal journey some co workers, friends, and family may not understand..and right now, its about me!!

Had the Band five days ago in pain!!!
Lannae replied to CandyM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
if you are up moving around, which you should be, you will feel pulling and some pain..Its normal! -
Yes that does, seem like alot..my doc said to make sure I do not drink my calories and that includes soup..protein first!! I do start my morning however with a protein shake, but that is because in the morning I am busy and I am tighter..he says this is fine as long as I physically chew the rest..However yesterday, ate a tone, but it was slider foods such as soup!!! So just start being aware, keep track and watch the stuff that can easily slide in...protein!!

See everyone is so diffrent, I too am 5'9 or was..lol..and my doctor and nutrionist said 175, and I am perfectly happy with that for now, started at 260 is my heaviest..when I did my preop I was 255, but just the thought of being at my heighest is what I go at...When I hit 175 I will see from there, but right now putting on my size 12s feel pretty good!!!!

I agree, after a fill you can be easily irriatated, it gets almost sensitive or mine does, so ease into it..AND I found that after each fill the things I use to be able to eat, I can not anymore..so a good idea is to look at alot of the foods that the long time banders eat and see if it will work for you, I know this has helped me alot!!! Good luck!!
-
yes you will know, you may get a saliva build up, flem and a slight pain in the chest..walking will help, raising your arms, or bending over the toilet as the last rescource..if you have not felt the need to spit or do any of the above, you have not been stuck..lol..just remember to chew, and small bites..which gets me grrrr...

I Don't Want To Tell Anyone I'm Considering Lapband
Lannae replied to momof02's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
7m in and only a select few..My husband, kids, one co worker,(she had it done as well) and one friend who was thinking about it, and now has had it done...I dont care..Its my story, not embarresed, not shy, just its MY business, if I want the questions then I will tell, but I really dont feel the need..Down 62pds so far, loving life, that is all they need to know!! Trust me, I keep other things to myself as well....its not like this is my only private issue!!! lol do what you feel is comfortable..if you dont want to, then dont if you eventually do want to share as your weightloss goes on, and you want to yell it from the roof top, then do it..Its all up to you!!! Enjoy your ride!!! -
Care And Feeding Of Lap Band Opinions
Lannae replied to FLORIDAYS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
hmm...no when I post a question I want a brutal honest answer, especially if it means it could lead to weight loss or to help me from making a huge mistake and end up hurting my band!!! naaahhh I can handle it, or I should be able to, last time I checked I put my big girl undies on, but in a smaller size.. -

Lannae replied to indacrucible's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums

Am I The Only Fluffy Girl From The North?
Lannae replied to Banjo257's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Alberta Canada...and weather....snow... -
every doc and hospital is diffrent, for me they gave me a very strict diet...clear liquids for a week, then moved into heavier liquids then mushies, etc...dont be afraid to ask for something!! As for what to bring, yes stretchy pants, slippers...to be honest, you really dont need much!!! It will go by very quick!!
-
the day of the fill, its liquids next day mushies, and soup then third day I ease into it...I had my first unfill a month back, not sure I must have irritated the band, and it was scary and I was scared to eat, but start small, and then be gradual with it!!
-
not sure..how to help?

Slipped Band... Will Mexico Reposition?
Lannae replied to Kalipso2's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think people need to relax about Mexico..I had my surgery as thousands of others, by some of the best surgeons in the world, the one that did my surgery actually teachs other doctors in the US...all I say is...do your research, find a fill doc that will work with you and good luck!! -
lol and that is why I like it, its thicker fills me up faster and keeps me full longer, to be honest I dont really worry to much about the sugar, its not like I eat it for three meals! I was wondering too and now I love it!!

Waiting For My Brain To Catch Up With My Body
Lannae replied to Alli in StL's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Me too!!! I am down 60pds, and it happend kind of fast, or faster than it has ever done before..no wait, I have never lost this amount before..and getting below 200 was huge, but I keep thinking, this cant last, and then I get shocked when people stop me, its a good feeling but at first I almost have a deer in the headlight look, who me?? really?? now the weight loss is slowing down a bit, and I need another fill...but going on a cruise at the end of Nov so I will wait...ugh...just upping my water, and work outs..but so far maintaining!!! -
I agree another fill....she may have just been a bit relaxed with the first couple..so I would suggest getting another fill, and yes keep your liquids up and start with your protein..A few months after a fill my stomach seems to swell I think and get relaxed..liquids for a day usually helps tighten things back up..
