I'm so sorry you are having to deal with that. I am sure there are proteins for you, it's just finding one. But it will be worth it in the end. here's to getting out of your liquid phase!!!!

I had surgery on 8/17/2022, so just under 7 months ago. and at this point my weight loss has slowed so much that I am lucky if I lose 5 lbs. a month. I wasn't expecting the weight loss to slow down already. It almost makes me wish I went with Bypass. Has anyone else slowed so soon?

I knew it would happen, I just didn't think it would be already.

How is the texture? I can't do the texture of more of the bars.

My face my poor face...
SuziDavis replied to Bariiime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like Hives... one of your pills or even a protein can be causing it. I had to switch out a supplement due to being allergic. When I get hives it is very similar. -
Layers... lots of layers. I live in South Florida, so I am freezing in my house and then sweating from all the layers of clothes when I step outside... lol. I sit in my hot car and defrost after work.🤣😂😫😒

I have Addison's Disease, which went untreated for a long time. I assumed I was just gaining some weight in my late 30's, which can be normal with Perimenopause and whatnot. And I was getting to that age. But I ended up with other issues connected to the disease and finally got diagnosed. I had a long road of medication trial and error before finding something that worked and added my surgery to push my weight loss. I was never obese or even overweight until I was about 37/38 years old. So while I understand that is an issue for many people. That was not my case, that is not my experience. Especially when I was gaining weigh while eating less than most people I know. I now eat more often that I used and I don't enjoy it.

I already eat almost nothing, how will this help me?
SuziDavis replied to 100+'s topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
What I learned, is it wasn't about how much I was eating, but what and when I was eating. I think I eat more often now than I ever did before. I used to eat late at night when I finally had free time, and now I eat through the day, like a normal person. I ate very little protein before, which was a big problem. You'll see. -
Struggling to envision weight loss
SuziDavis replied to mcipanda's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think that is somewhat normal. Every time I look at my goal, I just can't imagine being back at that size, I feel like my weight was just the new normal and I just accepted it. But I also don't think I look different at almost 100 lbs down. Its a process and goals definitely change a lot. -
It's pretty easy, eating the wrong things out of convenience is just as bad as eating things you "have a love affair with" out of desire. Having some health and autoimmune issues didn't help either. Not to be critical, but not everyone fits in the cookie cutter that you are placing on obese people.

Does anyone else get cold super easy after surgery? I used to tolerate the cold with no issue, but now I walk around my house in a hoodie and sweatpants. and even sleep in that at times. That is something I previously would have never done. I hate the restriction, but my god, I am always cold now.

YES!!! I cook for my husband, cook for my kids, bake for all of them, and when it's my turn... nothing. Or I want something that I don't really eat anymore. Like a bowl of Cheerios...lol

I never really had a love affair with food. I am opposite, I have no interest in eating.

They probably wish they could have it too. I have never lied about having it, but I don't just offer it up to people for this reason. Cause I will fight someone.

Your tastes will change big time, I can't eat certain things anymore and its stuff I used to love. I think it makes life easier. -
Am I the only miserable one?

I think everyone probably goes through a mourning period of sorts. But it gets better. I won't lie and say I don't miss ice cream some times. but when the weight starts falling off, its all worth it. -
Hair loss and extensions?
SuziDavis replied to happynewbie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My friend did, she had to take them out the y3 days later as clumps of hair were coming out with the extension. I would think a good cut or wig would be better. -
I feel your pain on this, I stopped using BC because of the gain and mood change, I couldn't deal with it.

I work in an office where food is brought in all the time and lots of snacks. I make sure I always have my snacks on hand to help with cravings. As long as I have something I don't ever mind the situation.
