I'm getting so frustrated, 7 months out and almost 2 months stalled
SuziDavis replied to SuziDavis's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I just started adding a lower calorie protein to my coffee throughout the day, just to hit a higher amount... I'm hoping that works, next step would be a week of liquids. -

I am 7.5 months out from surgery, I have been stuck at 97 lbs lost for the last 2 months... I am so close to 100, but my scale isn't moving... 😭 I can't wait to hi that number. -
BMR and my future self ???
SuziDavis replied to LandofHopeandDreams's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
After surgery, I was only around 4-600 calories a day and that was hard to meet. 7 months out, I can maybe hit 1000 if I go for fattier or higher calorie foods. But I was told to try and keep it under 800 till I get to maintenance. I would assume the 1100 would be after you lose and you are ready to maintain. -

I am upping that. I don't think I could drink anything more than I am, but I 'm going to try. -

I am no where near maintenance, I am doing a fast for a few days to see if that helps. -
Post-Op : measure by volume or weight?
SuziDavis replied to SemperVeritas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use a scale and measure by weight. It's more accurate as food can be made to fit and with dry ingredients, the temps and humidity change the volume. My nutritionist also recommended by weight. -
Eating and drinking at same time.
SuziDavis replied to Happy with two's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 7 months out and cannot drink while eating. I usually have a little water to wet my mouth with dryer food. but I can't take a sip. I feel like my stomach will explode if I do that. -
Nutrition Goals - Unrealistic with food?
SuziDavis replied to Victoria_Faith's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you using a good tracking App? Baritastic is the best I found. You can set your goals. I found that I had to actually prep and track for the first 6 months to get the hang of it, but now I just do it out of habit, It will get easier. -
HELP! Day One of Pre-Op Diet and Massive Stomach Bloating and Pain

I personally hate premier shakes. try a different brand. Or even a vegan protein. -
Protein shake interchangeable with water?
SuziDavis replied to Jillian K8's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor and nutritionist said that anything other than water only counts as half the ounces. So 10 OZ water = 10 oz... 10 Oz Protein Shake (or anything besides water) = 5 oz water... So keep that in mind to avoid getting dehydrated. -
Met with surgeon, I just don't know...

Hi and welcome. I know it is scary to read the negative, but there are so many positives! I have knee issues, a torn meniscus to be exact. I have lost almost 100 pounds since I started this journey and now rarely have pain in my knee, to the point that I do not need the surgery. My numbers on my blood work are great, I have energy and over all just feel better. Are there times its a pain to eat a certain way, yes. Could I need a revision for an issue later, yes. Do I have to take fiber religiously, yes... But then I remember all the positives I mentioned above and its not an issue anymore. If you think there's no other choice, and this is needed, do it. It's been life changing in all the best ways possible. I would do it again in a heart beat. -
I think a lot of people that have never been under feel that way before hand. I had had two c-sections prior, this was nothing compared to that...lol But seriously, it's not as bad as you are probably expecting. I think the worst part was the gas pain right after, but that is usually gone by the next day. after that, you are more sore than in pain. Getting out of bed can feel crappy, but you get past that by weeks end. Just keep thinking about the result and how worth it its going to be! a week or so of discomfort for a new life. Not so bad.

Do you think I can lose 70lbs naturally? I'm at a crossroads :(
SuziDavis replied to helenah's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I will only say this... you know if you can or can't, because you would do it if you could... unless you never wanted to. -
The joys of Hormones. I think a lot of us women have issues with spotting and our periods being off schedule after.

Vegan pre-op LRD
SuziDavis replied to jemimafudgecake's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you found a good Vegan Protein? You will definitely need one. I use the one I linked below, the French toast and chocolate are bomb. Otherwise, you need to ask your doctor what vegan food he will allow that you can make work. The biggest obstacles you will have is getting enough protein in. you need to hit 60-80 grams. https://1stphorm.com/collections/meal-replacement-proteins/products/vegan-power-pro -
"Incentive shopping" and body dysmorphia
SuziDavis replied to Jillian K8's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Target has the worst plus size department ever. Unless you like ruffles on everything and low rise skinny jeans. 🤮 I would hit Torrid and get something from clearance. They usually have sales too, so you can pay $20-$50 for really nice jeans rather than what target has. I have been buying smaller sizes when they are on sale and it's felt really good every time I fit into them. I went through all my old jeans at home and now just fit into my newest incentive jeans... I never thought I would get back there either. -
I just got the Walmart brand tablets. its an orange and white bottle. It has definitely helped. I did daily till I was regular then cut back to 3 days a week. Here's the link. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Equate-Fiber-Therapy-Methylcellulose-Caplets-500-mg-100-Count/10324527?athbdg=L1100

It was a weekly issue for me for a while. For me, magnesium wasn't enough, so I started adding a fiber pill to my vitamin regimen 3 days a week and I haven't had another problem.

Since about 5 days after surgery I have been mixing my protein with my iced coffee every morning. I use powdered protein, had too many gross bottle of premier with chucks... But it is my everyday start now.

I just discovered a protein you might want to try. It’s called TrueFit, by a company called RSP Nutrition. It has pro & pre-biotics and it’s supposedly way better on your stomach.

My period has become more regular again, and I think I was in perimenopause before hand. I think being healthier makes your body go back to a healthy(yet annoying) cycle.
-
You definitely look younger!!! What a change! Congrats!

I use my protein shake mix or sugar free creamer. And I went back to regular coffee right away... no issue
