SuziDavis replied to Star1234's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had my first appointment on June 21, I am having my surgery this Wednesday, 8/17. -
1st Phorm, the meal replacement shakes. I also use their Collagen & Harmony for hormone balance and have been loving it. One of my friends turned me onto them, and I have liked everything I try. https://1stphorm.com/

My date is similar, and I know that I am not going to be able to do pureed meats... so Protein shakes it is. Luckily I found a company with some really different flavors.

Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go first
SuziDavis replied to chiquitatummy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My surgery is this Wednesday, BUT it felt good cooking for my family the last 2 weeks and not feeling bad that I couldn’t be enjoying it too. And knowing that I am making changes for the better. I was dreading the liquid diet… now, I’m not. -
Good luck!

$18K Out of Pocket or wait a year for full insurance coverage or just diet?
SuziDavis replied to SoCalGuy6622's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
There is not a right answer, but there are also options under $10K in Mexico. There are many many people who go and do it that way and have nothing but good things to say. -
I hope it helps! I am so tired of my arms falling asleep every night.

Pre op diet weight loss
SuziDavis replied to KimA-GA's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am 1 week into my pre-op, I have lost just over 10 lbs. I do about 3 low carb/sugar, High Protein shakes a day. About a half cup of either cottage cheese or scrambled eggs, 64-100 oz. water, and occasionally chicken broth. if I want a snack I have a sugar free ice pop or jello. I also drink a big (32 oz.) coffee every day. I have one more week, I am trying to hit another 10 lost. -
No. definitely not! maybe try some different protein shakes for flavor. I also got some really good "Cold Water Infusion" tea bags... really helps with the water.
-
Yes! I am going to measure everything the day before surgery. I put together a binder to track everything. I found a cute printout(who even am I 😂) for all the milestones, water intake, meals, steps etc. on Esty. Figured anything will help to stay focused and excited.

It will all be worth it.
-
It's going... It's boring and I don't love sweet drinks, so I try to have a cup of broth in place of a protein shake here and there. The numbers on the scale keep going down though, so I am happy about that.

Try Iso-Pure Flavorless protein. It's been ok for me.

Starting my liquid (liver shrinking) diet tomorrow
SuziDavis replied to LookingForward22's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am the 17th! So good luck!!! -
That is exactly what I drink and I drink it all day!
-
Happy Belated Birthday! And it's good to hear someone had an OK experience with drinking. I only have a drink a few times a year as well, so being able to still do that would be nice.
-
I have, but they actually say it is the acidity of coffee in general that can be the issue.
-
Mine said they ask people to do it due to it irritating the stomach, but I have been a heavy coffee drinker for 20+ years...

I am a week into a 2 week preop, it hasn't been bad and the numbers going down on the scale have been a help to keep me going! You can do it! -
I can't even imagine that. I don't care about most food all that much. But I love coffee...lol.
-
Thank you! It's definitely hard at work, everyone in my department love ordering in lunch everyday. But worth the results!
