It's been wither raining like crazy here in Florida or 105 F... So being outside has been miserable. But I think I will make the effort, hopefully it helps.

Hair is starting to thin a bit
SuziDavis replied to liveaboard15's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I chopped my hair off in preparation of the thinning. I have a lot of hair, but figured it would be a good thing to take off the bulk. -
My tips and why I Don't recommend Sleeve surgery for long term
SuziDavis replied to strawberryga's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
look at her post. -
has anyone else his a weird low? I was feeling really good, but this last week I am miserable. I have no appetite, I can't get my water in, everything tastes and smells bad to me. Its to the point where I would rather not eat than possible be nauseous because of it. So all that makes me tired all the time. I am hating this.

Welcome, that sounds scary! I would not get advise from us in your situation. I think your Dr and his staff should be guiding you.

Hi, I am not 100% vegan or anything, but I do prefer plant based as much as possible. It can be a little more challenging to get your protein in. I have been using a good protein powder though and it helps. Just start planning now. This is the Protein I use BTW https://1stphorm.com/collections/protein/products/vegan-power-pro

I know that this post is a couple years old... But for other people who will see it and need advise. The Darker the hair, the more noticeable the thinning will be. The contrast of your scalp and dark hair will definitely stand out. Short cuts with lots of volume is a better option.

My Doctor has always said Protein First, if you are still hungry a bit of steamed veggies, if you are still hungry, go for a fruit. Following this, I tend to always be on the lower side of carbs and sugar without even trying. Seems to be working well.

Are you feeling tired all the time?
SuziDavis replied to nymisc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, I am sure it is. It doesn't help that suddenly EVERYTHING taste bad to me, so eating has been very unenjoyable. -
iOS Medication Reminder

I just set to alarms. My morning meds and afternoon ones. -
I think we have all been there. Stalls are really normal the first month. I spent most of my first month in a stall and it had me doubting everything. But then it broke and I started losing. As long as the numbers are going down... that is all that matters.

I wasn't tired the first couple of weeks, but the last week I have been exhausted. -
Activities with Partner after surgery
SuziDavis replied to Foxfire's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The hardest part of going out to eat for me was the not drinking any liquids while eating part. And the movies was good, I just brought some snacks and got a water. It's definitely not the same, but if your partner knows you needed this, they adjust to make it work as much as you do. -
Who has done this alone with no support system?
SuziDavis replied to 18kDays's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
While I have a family... I was pretty much on my own. I couldn't driver home from the hospital, but the next day I could. My husband still expected dinner cooked and the kids dealt with. My surgery was on a Wednesday, and I was back at my home desk working on Friday. I managed, it wasn't ideal, but it's doable. just take everything slow. -
Hi Sam! YES, the smallest things felt like I had just swallowed a rock. It was very uncomfortable. Just do very small bites and chew, a lot.

I am at my one month mark, and pretty frustrated. I lost a good amount at first, then a major 2 week stall... and then only a little more. I feel like this whole first month did not go well. How did your first month go?
-
Why not try to add protein powder to your smoothies?

First Month Out, How did you do.
SuziDavis replied to SuziDavis's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think I need to stop the once a week weigh in and go to once a month. -
I want to cry sometimes. 😭 and it makes me worry that I am messing up. 23 of that was before surgery... But still ok I guess.

I am getting so frustrated. only 1 pound this past week. I lost a few the week before, but this whole first month has been mainly stalls. I am so tired of it.

Celebrations after Surgery
SuziDavis replied to KimA-GA's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It hasn't been as hard as I thought it would be. My office has food brought in almost everyday. I thought it was going to be harder, but it hasn't been. I just participate in the activity without the food and no one has really said anything. and they do not know I had surgery. I even baked about 200 cookies 2 night ago and didn't feel like I was missing out. -
Concerns Pre-Op, looking for someone to ask
SuziDavis replied to Kamyar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am sure there would be plenty of good people in here to ask. There is also a guys room thread if that makes you more comfortable. -

Have you considered channeling the energy into a sport for yourself? I have definitely been more into my hobbies than I used to be. And I think now I am going to start training Jiu Jitsu. -
Hunger crushed and taste change
SuziDavis replied to GreatDanish916's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I also rarely feel hungry. I think the only time I do is when I am cooking for my family and it's something I know I can't have, but it smells really good. lol And at the movie theater, I missed popcorn. But for the most part, I am never hungry. Which is what I really wanted.
