What foods taste different to you?
SuziDavis replied to qtdoll's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So many things taste different to me. I used to love eggs, now I can't eat them more than once in a month or so. My nose is very sensitive, so things just smell so bad to me. -
One week after surgery and I thought I can have cheese
SuziDavis replied to sunny73's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ricotta cheese is what you can have. That pain will go away, everything is just sensitive right now. -

3 months post op and I'm done.
SuziDavis replied to fed-up's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
1. You have no idea how her health was before her surgery. 2. your hair will most likely thin out as well, and then come back, it happens to the majority of us. 3. If her start weight was much higher than yours, she probably is happy to be healthy and less worried about the excess skin. 4. You should consider the way people might look at you... -
Nov 16 surgery date, bored of protein shakes
SuziDavis replied to SageIce's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the same issue with 90% of protein shakes. I found a company that I really like though and they have a lot of flavors. I Generally use them in my coffee. Other than that I used Iso-Pure in my soups too. -
I have never had Hiccups this often!!!
SuziDavis posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Has anyone else gotten hiccups more often after surgery? I feel like I get them multiple times a day. I know it all has to do with muscle spasms... so maybe the healing muscle is adjusting, but geez, I don't think I dealt with this after my C-sections. -

Yes, I will get them when I haven't even eaten in hours. -
I have been all over the place since surgery.

Able to drink and eat like normal?
SuziDavis replied to victoria0322's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was able to drink more than just little sips, so I don't think that is too odd. Just remember soft and liquid foods go through your new stomach pouch easier, and when you eat those firmer foods, it's a different ball game. I thought my pouch was too big till I ate firm foods... then realized I can't even finish an egg. -
Food after sleeve surgery
SuziDavis replied to Beantownposse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The eggs probably would have been a better starter/cheat food than steak. even the deli meat would have been better. Can and should are used interchangeably a bit too much. part of trying to stick to your post op is training yourself for he future. -
Food after sleeve surgery
SuziDavis replied to Beantownposse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I don't think I would have risked that. You might want to try adding the flavorless Iso-Pure to your soups and yogurts. You can get your protein and skip the shakes -
Becoming Free by Overcoming
SuziDavis replied to KimA-GA's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You're amazing for putting this out there! This is so important for people to read and actually pay attention too. So many people think WLS will just fix everything, but as you said, you "did the very hard mental work. I broke addictions to fast food and the sugar." I think your success will be so much better because you have done that work and you know what you are accountable for. I am so excited that you get to start your journey! -
My doctor didn't limit carbs, but did limit sugar. I have chosen to limit breads and pasta, because I love them way too much, but I have not cut them out completely. I will have a few tortilla chips here and there and I will have a wrap if I feel I need something.

SuziDavis replied to Chryssy's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Congratulations! 😀 I will say, my doctor warned all of us ladies that we would be way more fertile after surgery. I guess it is true...lol!!!! -
What do you eat at the movies?
SuziDavis replied to MountainClover's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It's so good. the only flavor I don't recommend is the Garlic parm. But the cheddar, gouda and Pepper Jack are soo good! -

Moon Cheese is my go to when I want something crunchy and salty. You get protein and no carbs and a good snack. -
How slow do you guys ACTUALLY eat?
SuziDavis replied to qtdoll's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If I am eating alone, I have a very hard time sitting and eating slow... It's boring. But if I am with people I will make sure i am eating slow so I don't sit there the whole time. It's hard though, I generally only eat 2-4 oz of anything and 2 oz of food over 30 minutes is not even feasible to me. -
I had extras too...lol. I had 4 top and 2 bottom so 6 total... You are the first person I have seen have extra
-
I have had 2 C-sections and they are much worse. The small holes in you abdomen are nothing compared to a 10 inch cut at the base. The only part that was worse was the air trapped in my chest cavity that day, but that only lasted a couple hours.

When can I eat pizza toppings or cauliflower pizza again?
SuziDavis replied to aussiedoodlelover94's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is a question for your doctor and everyone is different on when they can tolerate different things. I have no issues with spicy things, but acidic foods make me feel sick. -

Has your relationship changed?
SuziDavis replied to sweetsmith78's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My husband, who has never really had a weight issue, keeps worrying that I could look for someone better... Yet, he paid cash for my surgery. 🤔 It gets frustrated to be accused of something that has never even crossed my mind, as I have always thought he could do much better in the looks department, especially after I gained weight the last 5 or so years. -
Celebrating 100 Pre-Op!
SuziDavis replied to KimA-GA's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Congratulations!!!! That is a huge deal and I am sure it will make your post op even better! -
That has to feel good! Congrats!

Congrats!!! You are losing fast! I am the same with my protein coffee. Have to do it that way. And my tastes have also changed big time.
