    3 month bandster struggling

Hi there What are u eating at the moment can u give us a run down of your typical day menu ? Sounds like u could be too tight , not chewing enough or bad food choices . I at the moment was how you was , no restriction and waiting my first fill , everything I do now is on pure will power , its very hard but Im damn sure Im not gaining the weight ive lost (we have worked to hard for that) Although my band still does its job and curbes my hunger , I had a bad few days where I grazed last week . So this week Ive have got back on track and Im following the hospitals diet sheets . Were u given any ? S x:thumbup:

    Birmingham heartlands

Hi Juney:smile: Yes its not long to wait once the consultant confirms he can offer u the procedure , If I wasnt accepted my dad (bless his heart hes 76) was going to release some of my inheritance early to pay for the band private . Of course I said NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO:eek: But he knew how much I wanted this ... But lucky for me I met the criteria in every way , and from my gp's referral to my surgery it all ran smooth with no hiccups  Im grateful everyday for this , I can tell u , Not one minute have I took anything of this NHS help for granted . Thats amazing about your sisters meds , u hear it all the time , once weight starts to come off and u get healthier , medications are reduced and even stopped . ITS FAB EH  Keep me posted in your journey and If I can be of any help . JUST YELL  Sas x

    Where's My Food?

Hi ya .. Im the same as u , BM'S not normally an issue , I was banded last week also , (6 days post) constipation or less frequent bowel movement this is normal and due to the following factors : We are taking much smaller quantities and there is very little fibre in our diets now . If u suspect u are constipated there are 3 things to check : MAKE SURE YOUR DRINKING 2 LITRES Fluid PER DAY INCLUDE 1-2 CUPS OF DILUTED FRUIT /VEG juice PER DAY OR TRY SYRUP OF FIGS OR PRUNE JUICE AS A GENTLE BOWEL STIMULANT . MAKE SURE YOUR NOT SITTING OR LYING AROUND TOO MUCH . If this continues to be a prob go to your Dr for advice , and a non bulk forming laxative may be perscibed like lactulose . Hope this helps Sas x

    Birmingham heartlands

Hi there Nat . Oh Im sorry u didnt have the outcome u expected , BUT dont give up hope girl , at least your in the weight help circle now , Im wondering why they sent u to the weight management clinic there ? What does your medical records state about your obesity ? ie : how many years is recorded , wat routes have u taken ie: dietician , zenical (perscibed diet pills ? I didnt get referred to the weight centre , but perhaps my record was a bit more in depth im thinking ??? And the funding is applied for by the hospital that is treating u not ya GP so dont worry about that , Birmingham applied to northamptonshire primary care trust for my funding , I had no problems what so ever . Now u must try your best and show commitment thats what they want , some people think if they loose weight they wont get the surgery ! Thats so not the case , I lost a stone and 8 pounds before surgery , which they were pleased at . U have to show your focused , committed & ready for this life changing event . If I can help u in any way , or u wish to chat in private , just contact me . Dont get disheartened ok , there is still hope ! Best wishes Sas x
