Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. by now you have had your surgery and would love to hear how you are doing, if you are up to blogging.
I just went for a psychiatric evaluation and was told that I need to go to therapy to get prepared for a new way of eating. I'm all for that. How long does one have to go to therapy. Did you go and for how long?
I just went to my PCP and my A1C was 8.5 which is the highest it's ever been. I really wasn't surprised since I have gained 20 #'s in the last 3 to 4 months. I am feeling like I will endure anything to get this under control.
Again hope you are doing well.

Hi pangeaone,
I have been going through the same things you have I have been a type 2 diabetic for about eight yrs and my weight seems to play a big part in my treatment I started out taking just a pill to control my blood sugar level by the way I have high blood sugar and now I take a pill and a shot every night so I know where you are coming from as far as the lap band surgery goes I started jumping through bc/bs hoops back in January and I just got my date for surgery my date is September 11,2008 5:00 A.M. sounds like you are just getting started on your journey it will seem like it is never going to get here then you will get the call you have been approved and then soon after the date I am excited, and scared to death all at the same time, but I'm looking forward to a better quality of life. hang in there your going to make it through this. it is said that the lord never puts more on us than we can handle and I truly believe this with all my heart, please let me know how you are doing and I will do the same good luck
May God Bless you and yours

Hello,Katie0
my name is Jim Taylor me and my family go to Westmount Baptist Church in Birmingham,Al I just got my surgery date it is September 11, 2008 I would like to find out a few more things from someone who has gone through this surgery things like what to expect when I wake up how do you feel and how long will I be in the hospital and how long before you feel like getting up and doing stuff, now that I have my date and it is coming up pretty soon now i'm having lots of different feeling, like i'm very excited about getting the procedure done, but at the same time i'm scared to death, I guess it's the helpless feeling of knowing my wife and childern are going to have to take care of me is a little weird since i'm use to taking care of them just need to talk to some one who has or is going through this
May God Bless you and yours
