Hi, my name is donna and my husband and i are making this journey together. We are very close to the end and can't wait for a date. I have about 11pds to go and he has just met his weight goal. We attened our 1st support group meeting, and we have one class to attend on the 19th. Then it's waiting for a date. My husband lost his father to obestity about 10yrs ago and we want to make sure this never happens to us. We have 3 boys and want to insure good healthy eating and promote exercise to them. My father had the gastric by pass 8yrs ago and is doing really well. He lost 150pds and has kept it all off. He is so much healthier and happier. I'm nervous about getting sick. I hate to throw up...... This is the one thing i know will keep me honest. But until i know what i can eat and not eat.....yikes! Good luck to all who are about too or have just been banded. I can't wait to read about your sucess.

Hope all is well........ Let us know how it goes. 8pds is great especially before banding. The most I've ever lost in a week I think is 5pds. I'm jealous. You go Girl.

Hi, My name is Donna I live in Winooski, Vt. and my husband and I are making this journey together. We thought if we both had the surgery than we could help keep each other on task. My husband lost his father to Obestity 10yrs ago, :sad:and together we want to insure this never happens to us. We have three wonderful children who need us, and we want to be active with them in all they do. We want to help them from a young age eat healthier and make better food choices. My father had the gastric by pass about 8 yrs ago and is doing very well, despite the getting sick after he eats from time to time. He has lost 150pds and has kept it all off. He said he would do it all over again if faced with the same choices.:w00t: We have been in the program since March 08 and are nearing the end. I have about 3pds to meet my 5% weight loss and my husband has just met his. We attended the support group meeting last night for the first time. It was very eye opening and helpful. Tonight I watched the surgery performed live. Any questions I had have now been answered about the surgery and how its done. We still have to attend one class on the 19th and then it's waiting for the date. Do you have any suggestions for us?

Congrats......I'm new to the world of lap band. My husband and I are doing the journey together. I'm very close to my 5%weight loss and he has just met his. We are hoping to have the surgery in September sometime. We attended our first support group meeting last night. On Aug 19 we attend our class and thats it. Just waiting for the date. I'm nervous about the liquid diet though. I'm not a big drinker. I also hate to get sick and not looking forward to the first time. I think this alone will keep me on track. I would do anything to avoid this....... Well best of luck to you and a quick recovery. Donna
