Hi Arabesque and all .Well they think the lesion in my vagina is Mesh poking through from a vaginal tape op I had 20 years ago .There is a big forum on Facebook where thousands of other women who had TVT and TOT ops , are now suffering quite badly from the mesh they used .It breaks down and migrates to other parts of the body where it causes havoc, and sometimes death .I am seeing a senior surgeon tomorrow for further biopsies and to work out the way from here . Thanks for reading x

Thank you Mrs Fitz .Arabesque - mine is vaginal too ! had hysterectomy years ago and started spotting blood just lately .GP looked and doesn't know what it is so being fast tracked for poss vaginal cancer - so like you ! the wait is unbearable isn't it ? x

Looks like I've got cancer .Find out in a week for sure .🙄

2 years exactly since my sleeve and my hair is the worst ever ,my hairdresser gently told me she'd have to cut it short as the ends were like fluff ! bald patches, shedding , hair all over the house and pillow .My sister why my hair was receding at the front ? like her bald husbands ! I take Biotin gummies and use Biotin shampoo .Nothing is stopping this hair loss .I despair :(

Wegovy vs bariatric surgery
fed-up replied to Adipocyte Apoptosis's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm not taking any weight loss pills after giving it some thought .I have gained about a stone , but I'm not unhappy with that .I'm almost done with my dietitian and almost at the 2 year mark .I plan to exercise more and watch what I eat .It's still been worth it for me . -
Wegovy vs bariatric surgery

Froufrou - this where I am now .18 months post sleeve and my appetite is back and I am gaining weight .It started with stress when my sister became very ill , and now I am considering asking for Wegovy as I don't want it to climb further .I've done a lot of reading about the sleeve ,and it's pretty common for weight gain to occur between 12 months -18 months .I'll see what my doctor says ,I am hoping it will help me . -
SS, caring is so hard .My hub is 12 years younger than me ,I didn't see this coming .I try to stay close to my faith , and we've moved into Sheltered Housing as I may need carers for him soon . Thanks for sharing X our weather doesn't do much for lightening your mood , looks like more flooding .I have been good today , no biscuits or treats .One day at a time .....X

Hi All , I am definitely gaining weight .I have been under a lot of stress and started eating low sugar biscuits .I still can't eat hot food and still get sick if I eat too much /too soon have liquid after food .Does anyone else identify with this ? I feel like I've fallen off the wagon and not sure how to get back on .I definitely want to eat more .I'm 20 months post surgery and feel like I'm slipping back .Husband is quite ill , we've just moved and facing financial difficulties .Obviously I'm comfort eating , not sure how to stop ?
-
Hi All , thank you very much for your replies .Fred - I do pray , I was praying last night , it does help thanks .Ara - I agree walking would be useful but it is pouring with rain here in the UK , but as soon as I can , I think that will become my regular go to destresser .It's awkward because I'm the carer for my husband , and he can't walk far at all .However , once he's sleeping ok I can go and walk and stay in touch by phone .I have to get back to that mindset Big Guy and Lily , of finding other ways of coping with stress than eating , will give it a go x

When I went to my 6 week post op consultation ,I happened to sit in close proximity to a woman who had also had the Gastric Sleeve .She thought she looked wonderful - I thought she looked terminally ill ."I'm nearly at my wedding weight " she said proudly .I smiled and said nothing .She was the opposite of how I wanted to look .Her hair was thin and lack lustre , her skin sagging and dull .I listened in horror as she explained she was still trying to lose weight .I thought she summed up the very look I never wanted to have .Her slimness did nothing to inspire me .So I am 3 months post op .I can now walk freely , breathe better ,and I fit into my favourite jeans .I am not at my ideal BMI but if I don't lose further weight ,I'll be content .I eat more healthily and do more . So I suppose that is my story and I'm happy with it .

Just wondered how many of us were over 65 when we got our sleeves ?I was 66 and age didn't seem to be a problem .
-
I have one every 3 months .I got called into have mine and they wouldn't do it because they said there had been a mistake- it was 10 days too early .I asked her to double check with a doctor but she wouldn't so I have to go back next week .Would my body really know it was a bit early ? I couldn't see the harm .
-
Thanks Chunk cat but we don't have insurance here in the UK , but I will double check that it's right next time x

They called me and said it was due - but they wouldn't do it when I got there !!

Still in hospital in HELL

I would be feeling very insecure right now in your position . I agree with Summerseeker , if you're not on a drip , how can you stay hydrated ? I haven't had a bypass and freely admit I know nothing of them , but I can certainly understand your worry and unhappiness for the situation you are in .Please let us know how you are and I hope you see a doctor soon who will relieve your concerns x -
Yes I definitely know what you mean .I am very stressed at the moment and have resorted to eating low sugar biscuits to comfort myself .I am dreading getting weighed as I'm sure I will be heavier .

Over 65 when you got your sleeve ?
fed-up replied to fed-up's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi all again , I think you Linda top the list so far ! yes it is great being able to walk better and get off the sofa unaided good luck x -
I thought I would have , but I haven't .But I am worried about my sister who went on a normal diet(no surgery ) ,as she's got lots of hanging loose skin on her belly .Is it safe for her to leave ? I'm 67 and she's 70.
-
Thanks all , that has put my mind at rest .
-
Safe for her to keep it all stuffed into her girdle and tights .I was worried that she'd catch it with her nail , (she has very bad arthritis in her hands ) and some of the skin might rip and be a cause of infection .
-
I vomit if I have liquid straight after food .

So so angry!!!!!
fed-up replied to SleeveToBypass2023's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi , I feel really sorry for you .I know how awful GERD is, it drives you nuts - especially at night .I had GERD before I had my sleeve done last year BUT I also had a hernia repaired ,and it was the hernia that gave me GERD .So my sleeve /repair solved that problem .Surely your Doctor must have some idea why this is still happening to you , after the second op ? I'd be so gutted if it was me .All that having to sleep sat up , chugging pills and Nexium all the time , the repetitive swallowing ,and acid coming up your throat - it's no laughing matter .I hope you get it sorted .Please post your progress ,I'd be interested to know x
