    Getting Ready

Yeah, the PFT does take about an hour. When I did mine, she said that my lungs were really inflated. My asthma is uncontrolled! I hate it. In fact, my chest is hurting as we speak. I kinda panicked because I thought it would hinder my approval because I couldn't breathe. The lady doing the test reassured me that the test is just to insure that if I do have an attack while under anasthesia, they would know that the breathing treatment would control it. I do remember when I was in high school though, my asthma wasn't as bad when I was active. I hope that this is the case as I start to lose weight and become more active. Good luck to you on your approval journey.
  2. I actually heard from my insurance first, that I was approved. I called them though. I guess I was so anxious I beat them to it! LOL! Good luck with your approval!

    The fill from HELL!!!!

Yikes! I am sorry to hear about your fill from hell. I am not banded yet but will be soon. I keep reading all of these nightmare stories on getting fills and it is freaking me out!! I haven't changed my mind though. I guess I am not freaked out too badly huh? LOL! I hope that your next fill goes smoothly. You've earned it.

    Day 5

Keep it up! I hate the feeling of hunger. There is nothing worse! Yes, it is a hassle to prepare your food ahead of time but a hassle well worth it. Now let's see if I stick to my preaching when I start my pre-op diet! LOL! I'm kidding!

    Now addicted to running!

Awesome! I used to run A LOT in High school. Since I have put on so much weight I stopped. I have issues with my knees. I hope they will subside with my surgery. I loved the "high" I got from running. It was a great stress reliever. Keep it up girl!

    Got a DATE!!!

Yayyyy! :wink2: Doesn't it feel surreal? I know when I called my insurance and they told me that my surgery was approved, I thought to myself maybe the guy misread the notes or something. I got my letter yesterday from the insurance and they did approve it. It made me feel better to see the letter though. You will be banded a couple of days after me. I wish us luck!!! :tongue2: Welcome to the Smashing Pumpkins!
  7. I am doing good. Yes, my surgery will be here soon but it seems like forever to me! I hope I do as well as you've done. I bet it feels good to go shopping now! Ahhhh......I'm sooo anxious, I am going to burst! Drama Queen.....I know. I'll keep you updated.

  8. I am from Amarillo. It's about an hour from Lubbock. I know I will feel the same way too the night before surgery. You may laugh but I am more scared to have the IV than to have surgery or anesthesia. IV's hurt so bad and they make me sick to my tummy! I know... pathetic. Well, I will keep you posted. I have to start my pre-op diet on the 1st. Gulp!

  9. My doxie's name is Peanut. She is spoiled rotten!! I love her too death though. I take your word on the pre-op diet. I am not looking forward to it, but I am. You know what I mean?? I think it's because food is my comfort and I don't know much outside of that. It's going to be hard but I know it will all will be worth it when I'm looking cute in my new clothes! LOL! Nah, for real though!

    My band date is 10/15

Congrats! My date is also 10/15! We should stay in contact and lean on on another for support. Sound good? I'll send you a friend request. Keep in touch. Do you have to do a pre-op diet? I do. :tongue2: I start mine on the 1st. The Dr.'s nurse told me that I needed to have 3 Protein shakes a day and two healthy meals.(low fat, low carb) Anyway, I can't wait. The 15th will not be here soon enough! :wink2:

I AM!!! I never thought that I would be saying that I am getting the LB. I never dreamed that my insurance would approve me but they did. I am so anxious to have my surgery. im new to this but very excited!!!

Congrats on your decision to be banded! I can't wait to get my surgery!! I too browsed LBT before joining. When I joined I didn't post for a really long time. I was aprhensive about getting the band because I didn't have anyone to relate to. That's why I love this site so much! It's real, honest people that live life with similar issuses such as myself. I love it! I think once I have my surgery, this site will be my security blanket. Well congrats again. Keep me informed of your progress.
