    Food Before and After Photos

2 eggs, 1 small/medium chocolate chip pancake with strawberries and whip cream. I ate almost both eggs and about half of the pancake. I did eat the fruit of the top because it was too delicious to waste.
  2. I went clothes shopping with a friend today. Normally I wear a 22 or 24. Today I actually squeezed into an 18 in 2 different brands. I didn’t buy them, I think I’m 10-20 pounds away from that…but the fact that I get them on and my friend said I looked good, meant the world to me. I even got a few 2x shirts instead of the 3x I normally wear. But with that being said, I also did get a few 3x, due to the cuts being different. I’m on cloud 9!

    Post op injections?

I was given a prescription for lovenox when I left the hospital. I had to do one injection a day for 14 days. It was not that bad. Once I got over the idea of having to do it on my own, it wasn’t awful. Some days it stung for a minute or two, some days it was painless. I know I’d rather do that than end up with a blood clot.

    Food Before and After Photos

I am a month and 3 days out from my sleeve and this is my first post. Breakfast this morning. I don’t think I felt restriction, it just felt like I had enough.

    Hummus

I have hummus on a slice of deli turkey or ham. I also like it on avocado slices. It is a nice, healthy snack or meal.

    How's it going PO peeps?

I'm sorry that you weren't feeling well. The first week or 2 are the worst. Tomorrow will be a month from my surgery date and I am feeling great . The first 2 weeks were hard. i could barely take in 24 oz of water a day. I do get heartburn now which is strange to me because I have never in my life had heartburn before now. I get it a minimum of twice a day now. Luckily I am prescribed an acid reducer and that usually seems to help. Things are so much better now. I am still on the puree phase of the diet, which is a little infuriating when I am cooking for the family and cant have any and I am still struggling trying to get my fluids in as well. But I do get the importance of treating my healing body better and, like everyone, I am doing my best.
  7. Mine was through MVP Medicaid and at time of surgery the guidelines were, at least 1 pound lost, 3 months nutrition, 2 support groups, cardiologist, pulmonologist, psych, primary, gastroenterologist clearances and maybe more! It was an ordeal

Trying to get out of my head....

How far out from surgery are you? I really can’t even wait to eat that much lol. I can finally start purées Friday and I can’t wait to eat! I’m so hungry!

    Covid Positive

It might be. I’ve read a lot of posts of people who’s surgery was delayed due to COVID. Have you contacted your surgeon’s office and let them know you tested positive?

    June 2022 surgery buddies

I’ll be on puréed food starting Friday. They say that can include ground chicken or Turkey as long as it’s cooked in some kind of sauce and chewed very well. I’m excited for that

I am too! I thought I wouldn’t be, from everything I’ve read, but that’s not the case. I’m 12 days post op and cooking every night is killing me. On Friday I can finally do purées and it can’t come fast enough!!
  12. I’m only 11 days postop so I’m not sure
  13. I take biotin every day

Chips and salsa and bad eating day

Hummm…mine doesn’t really crunch. Many some kind of veggie? I’d say tortilla chips, but that’s not a healthy choice

Chips and salsa and bad eating day

Salsa isn’t bad for you actually. It’s most fresh veggies and no preservatives. Very low fat and carb. My suggestion is to eat chicken with salsa. It is one of my favorite meals. I just partook chicken breast and then add in salsa and let it cook all the way through. It’s delicious and super healthy. I also use cauliflower rice as a bed for it and it soaks up that flavor so well. I’m still a bit away from solids, but it will probably be one of the first meals I make for myself.
  16. I just had a Protein Shake that had caffeine. I don’t think I was allowed but I haven’t had coffee in 10 days and was really craving hard. It was the premier Cafe Latte. So good!

    Backing out

I had doubts all the way up to surgery date and while they were prepping me in the operating room. I full on panicked about everything and the what-ifs really got me. I’m 6 days post op now and still debating on if I was hasty with the decision . I think if you have thought this through and have reasons to support it, you should go through with it. It’s going to be hard, you may have bad times, but I think you will regret not doing it.

    No BM since surgery

Hummm. I had my surgery the 20th and haven’t really gone either. What is there possibly to get rid of? If all we are doing is drinking, how would we form a BM?

I had mine done 6/20. So many people are on different nutrition plans. My plan allowed nothing by clear liquids until day 4 post op. Then I could add in protein shakes and that’s it for a week. Just the clear liquids and shakes. Day 11 I think I can add pudding or yogurt or strained soups, but I’d love something now. Being around a whole family who is eating normally is difficult. All I want is to share some food with them.

    Pain

This is refreshing to read! I have pain when drinking as well. Although to be honest I still have pain in general. Coughing, sneezing and laughing are the biggest culprits. Even walking. I was only sleeved Monday, so I’m guessing that’s normal
  22. They told me to count water And shakes separately. And to put the water first. So 64 oz water plus whatever would bring me to 60 grams protein. I’m just not wanting to drink. I don’t feel thirsty or hungry. It hurts when I drink, so it’s just not a good time lol. I had about 2/3 of a shake earlier.
  23. Had my sleeve on 6/20 and have not gone near a scale yet. When you are on iv fluids for over 24 hours you tend to gain weight. I remember when I had my daughter, I weighed 11 pounds more leaving the hospital than when I went in. I’m just trying to hydrate. Is anyone else not able to take the 64 oz of water? I got to 32 yesterday And 2 ice pops and considered that a victory.

Yep! I checked in at 6:30 am yesterday and this pain is unreal. Got me questioning what I got myself into. Yesterday was torture and today is slightly better. I’m finding it hard to expel gas, even with walking so I’m guessing that’s what this pain is. My stomach is grumbling like nobodies business as well. Aye aye aye.

    June 2022 surgery buddies

Hey all! I’m freaking out! Tomorrow is the day and I’m scared. I keep wondering if I am doing the right thing. I keep worrying about them not being able to go in laparoscopic and having a huge scar. I’m scared something will go wrong and I won’t be there for my daughter. Lord please get me through this.
