Hi all, I've taken a break from the board and all the lapband stuff. I've been busy working and getting ready for our trip to California on Wednesday. Looking forward to a few days of something different. I went to PS last week. It will cost me $6700 for my arms and a stay at the new 5 star hospital. I was really impressed with this PS. She is a very caring woman who was very helpful. She wants me to go get the fill issue resolved and have whatever tests I need to do to determine that. She thought if they had to replace the band or if I needed to convert, etc. I should do that first. I just think I neeed a new lapband doctor to help guide me and advise me. I'm hesitant to do anything right now since we have so many trips planned. I want to do the arm surgery in the Spring so I think I'll get my act together so I can get that done. Pinkylee I am so surprised at the Pearland house selling. I guess I didn't realize you had it up for sale and didn't they tell you it would take a year? Hope you got your price. Now get up here to my neck of the woods!!! I'm waiting for you. Glad to see so many of you are doing well. I'm 15 lbs away from onederland. I've been as close as 7. I've got to get a handle on this weight and go the extra mile to get this done. Off to a 90 minute massage. Its a nice way to spend a sunday. Hang in there everyone. You are all amazing.

Hector's is alongside the Class for Glass place. There is Hector's and a pizza place and a hair/spa in the middle.

Welcome barkeep. We won't kid you - you still have to work at weight loss. I do find it much easier with the band. You still will have cravings - not at first though. You will be caught up in the program of what you can and can't eat at first so cravings won't be much of an issue. As you get more comfortable with the band, your head will take over and allow some of those cravings to come in. Don't worry. With the band you can't binge or go overboard too much. The real killer is ice cream. It is easy to eat and doesn't affect the band. Come join us for dinner if you can on Monday at Hector's. We'll help any way we can. I am so happy I have the band to help me.

OK guys I'll see you at Hector's around 5:30. I will try to be on time, but may be a few minutes late. I'm sure Dick will meet us there as he wants to try them again. We didn't know about the free ice cream. We're off to The Woodlands for the day. Dick and I like to walk around and window shop. We're going to have lunch there as well. Poodles at least now you have some answers. It does explain so many of your issues. Remember that your experience with a perfectly placed band may be entirely different from yours with one too high. You certain have given me something to think about. I can't seem to get the right restriction. I wonder if it has something to do with the placement of the band. Whatever you decide we are here for you. Others have given you some good things to think about when deciding. Whatever your decision, you now will be able to lose weight. That's what its all about.

That is really too strange that you get acid reflux from the artificial sweetners. Glad you were able to figure it out. Hope everyone is doing well. Its a new week so I'll try to get my act together. Made an appt. with PS for Oct 3rd. I want to explore my options!

Glad you enjoyed Vegas. We didn't get down to the Wynn in June while we were there. I wanted to, but it was so beastly hot. Dick and I have been shopping at Macy's for 2 days. Well, I guess me really. Purple is in this year and my favorite color. I have gone crazy with the clothes. We went back today to get credit back on my clothes with the coupons I forgot. We saved $100 on my clothes, another $25 on my purse and $50 on my shoes. Sometimes its worth it to take those coupons! I'm not losing and have stayed this way for months now. I don't mind the size I'm at, but another 35-50 would be great. I'm just not obessing about it. Just going to enjoy size 18 for a while. Its OK. It still surprises me how much I can eat and then all of a sudden I'm stuck. You never know what is going on with this band. See ya'll tomorrow night at La Villa.

If your coming from Beaumont come the back way. Is that 90? Turn in some town, I'll think of it soon, right and go one block to pick up 1960. I believe it is Libery. Someone help me out. Go on 1960, passing 2100. Go across the bridge. First light is Atascocita Shores. Second light is Pinehurst. Turn left on Pinehurst and immediately enter the shopping center on the right. La Villa is on the corner nerest 1960. Its a small place so you will find us. We usually get a table right in the middle so we're not hard to find. You can drink water and come visit with us Kitty. Bring a protein drink if you want. Its a nice neighborhood place so they don't care. I know them all real well there so it won't be a problem if you don't eat. You might need some encouragement and we would love to meet you.

Glad to hear from you. New baby .... you are so brave. I'm ready for dinner. How about Monday at 6:00? Pick a place and lets meet. No Betsy I haven't scheduled the test. Bikergrammy I want that test you had. Do I just call the surgicenter and ask for them to schedule it?

Good to hear from all of you. Looks like most are having a busy life. Good to hear the house will go thru PinkyLee. Yes sex definitely makes you less stressed and more relaxed. Must be why I'm so uptight. We had a great weekend. Spent it with DH and we had a good time, shopping, eating, being lazy, and yet it seemed like we were on the go all the time. I'm being very bad with food and with no exercise. I've been working later each day so given up Tai Chi. I just can't seem to make it in time. I haven't been to curves, although I"ve tried twice this week. I almost get there and my car goes a different way. I am wide open and even had pasta tonight. I can't do that very often or even try. I need to have the test done to find out why fills don't work for me. I need to get back on program and lose this next 5 lbs. I weighed this morning and I am 5 lbs heavier than my lowest weight. Time to get back in control. Now to take care of my stress. "oh honey"

I just got the call from Dr. Spiegel's office that he would no longer be In Network with United Healthcare effective June 1st. I am scheduled for June 15th. The cost to me now would be $4500 for Dr. and $2900 for the Surgicenter. I am devasted. Who in Houston takes UHC? I don't want to change my date for surgery, but I don't want to pay this amount out of pocket. I am anxiously looking for a new Doctor. I was so ready for this surgery and then this setback.

Glad you're losing. That's great. I'm not. I'm on some sprial downward. I just can't seem to get it together. I'm really swollen. Went to try on shoes today and nothing fit. We just left. That's very unusual for me!

What a shame that beautiful body is attached to that brain. Maybe there is something to be said for being smart without good looks or a killer body. I wouldn't know how that feels, but I'm sure most would rather be smart. Where is our little group? Have they all left us?

Glad today is a better day PinkyLee. I didn't realize you had put your current house on the market as well. You are really making some major changes. Hope it all works out for you. I'm hungry all the time. I just think and want to eat food. This is a really bad way to be. Dick and I are going to spend the weekend together. He has decided not to play in the golf tournament after all. We are going to go shopping and just enjoy the time together. Maybe this is what I need to get back on target. Cathy you know what they say about sex? It calms you down. Maybe when BF is out of town you get wired. Glad to hear the job is going well and that he is in town for the weekend. Enjoy.

water is no problem. protein shake in morning. good gal. ham and cheese for lunch. also good. steak, baked potato (loaded) and peas for supper. not bad, but not good. 6 fig newtons and a handfull of good and plenty candy. bad, bad, bad!!!!! I'm not going to make Dallas either. I just don't want to make the trip alone. Sorry everyone. Maybe we can try again in the Spring. Maybe we all will be doing better. Good for you with your surgery date. I know you are excited. Its a great and interesting journey. Where did our group go too? Haven't heard a peep from Lana in months. I'm OK with a monthly meet for dinner. Just let me know.

I need to remember that too!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been so bad since my little unfill. Its .2 that separates me from completely open to completely closed. I am able to eat most things now. As time goes on I think I get braver and braver too. Still waiting to hear from others in Houston on the date to Dallas. I really would like some company for the trip. Hopefully PinkyLee or Barbara12 can join us.

Thanks Betsy. That was good information. For me, I have never been able to tolerate big fills. I don't think its because I don't have any fat pads left for the band to rest on. Although, I do believe that a .2 fill is the max for me. I also think I can't go over 2.1. I have tried about 3 or 4 times and definitely have issues when I do. I need to schedule the test on the esphogus and go from there. I am definitely able to eat way too much and find myself really hungry. Maybe its head hunger or boredom, but old habits are emerging.

Did you post the wrong link? This one is a newbie that didn't know you had to wait to get restriction with fills. I don't see anything about be sensitive to the amount of the fill. Are we meeting on Monday? I'm not doing Tai Chi anymore so we can meet earlier if you want. I do want to do Curves so 5:30 or 5:45 works for me.

Oh we're here. Eating too much. DH birthday today. Mexican food and Tres Leches cake. Yum yum. Waiting for PinkyLee to decide about Dallas. If possible, could we move it back a week? She is going to Mich. for house closing on the 14th. I really would like to make the trip with her if possible.

Hope the PT works for you. It would be nice if you could avoid surgery. Got everything crossed for you. Doing great since the slight unfill. I think I will have the scope procedure done before I try another one. Not anxious to do that so I haven't scheduled it yet.
