    October 2022 surgery support

My surgery date was just pushed from 10/6 to 10/11 [emoji849] Sent from my SM-G996U using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. Good luck on approval! They still haven't submitted my paperwork to insurance. I thought for sure they would have on the 6th, because that would give insurance their "30 day approval" period, but there are still no claims pending on my insurance account 😩 I guess we just keep chugging along with the mindset that we've been approved already. It's hard because I like to prep and control everything in advance and this one is totally out of my power. My pre-op testing appointment is in 4 days. Hoping we both hear something positive by the end of this week!
  3. Thank you! I think I'd prefer getting a date after approval because the what if factor is wrecking my nerves. Each day we get closer to October 6th I'm like "okay is this really going to happen?" [emoji51] Sent from my SM-G996U using BariatricPal mobile app

    October 2022 surgery support

Scheduled for vsg on October 6th!
  6. I have jumped through all the hoops required by my insurance company (BCBS IL) and have my last nutritionist appointment the first week in August. They'll submit to insurance that day. I'm trying to stay positive and optimistic but the closer we get to submitting the more anxiety I have about not getting approved. I'm curious to hear if anyone has gone through this whole process, did all of the requirements, and was still denied? Did you appeal? Self-pay?
  7. My first consultation with the surgeon is on Friday 6/3. I scheduled it as an in person appointment 2 months ago. I got a call today they are only doing virtual consults. I'm wondering if anyone else has done their first consultation via video, and can share how it went for them? Thanks 😊

    Time to surgery

I have BCBS IL and it is a 3 month process for me. One nutritionist appointment a month with no weight gain, a psych evaluation, lab work with an H. pylori test, documented 3 year weight history, and a letter of medical necessity from primary care doctor. If insurance approves after everything then my surgery date will be sometime in August/September.
