This calculator was encouraging to me, because even though the scale is not right now, it kinda gave me numbers to dream about. Of course there is no universal thing for all of us, and who is to say it is accurate lol, but it helped ease my anxiety now, thinking about the long term. https://sleeveclinic.ca/weight-loss-calculator/#:~:text=The amount of weight you,75% of their excess weight.

Check in on my surgiversary people. How is everyone doing. Did post op appointment go well? How is your diet going? I am on my soft proteins only at 2oz quantities per meal. They want me to get 70 of protein and at least 800 calories a day. I still drink 1 protein shake a day. Sometimes I find myself wishing I could eat so much more than I can, but I can't find a logical reason why. It has also sucked picking out a birthday cake for my daughter knowing that cake is now a memory for me. I won't be back on a scale until Monday so I am looking forward to that. So what's new with you guys?

Hi everyone! Sounds like everyone is doing well YAY! I has my VSG on the 21st as planned without complications. My 1 week post op appointment is on Wednesday. Sometimes I sit here with my newish stomach and just wish I felt like I knew more of what I am supposed to be doing. All they say is sip, but no one says when to stop, and I don't feel full. I just go from drinking, to suddenly uncomfortable and overfull feeling. This is week 3 of only liquids for me. I am sick of all things that taste sweet, especially protein shakes. My brain keeps saying that if my pouch only holds 2 ounces then should I really be drinking as much as I am so quickly? The terror of possibly stretching my pouch already is steady in the back of my mind. Also, head hunger, stomach growling, and anticipation are a constant!

I'm 43 and 5'5". My weight before starting the pre-op diet was 272.6. I am having surgery on the 21st and my current weight is 259. My BMI is in the 40's.

Hi everyone, it's almost time! I'm excited, but exhausted. I think the liquid diet has got to be causing me some fatigue, despite consuming plenty of protein. Although I have not slept 1 good night since beginning the liquid diet, so maybe that is contributing to the tiredness. Everyone holding steady and still on course for the 21st?

I hope your test came out ok. Did you tell your doctor about your issues? I would hate for you to make it to post op already behind the 8-ball so to speak. I have you in my thoughts!

Well I had my pre-op appointment yesterday and everything is a go for next Tuesday. The one question I totally forgot to ask the Dr. was, what will my goal weight be. I could barely sit still since I am so excited. Thinking about drinking shakes for another week and a half is still not that great, lol.

Oh no, that sucks! I know there are days when the shakes and crystal light all become too sweet to me. That's usually when I will switch over to broth and postpone a shake. I am just reading this, so I hope by now you are feeling better

Good morning! How are you doing with your pre-op liver shrinking diets? I started mine a day early, I was so excited. (Yes, I'm a wierdo.) So today is officially day 7 for me! I have lost just shy of 10lbs, and managed to not cheat. I won't say it is easy, since I gave up Diet Coke after almost 30 years, and I am working on weaning off caffeine, which is my biggest hurdle. I go for my pre-op testing on Wednesday and then it's just shy of a week until surgery day, YAY! So what are your accomplishments and struggles so far?

1 week until my liquid diet starts 😁 I am so excited! Even for that! Anyway what brands are you guys using as far as protein shake? Other stuff? I bought the Equate High Performance protein ready to drink shakes in chocolate, vanilla, latte, and caramel. I also bought the Two Good yogurt in assorted flavors. Sugar free pudding cups, and all the varieties of sugar free jello cups. On my list of need to buys is; broth and flavor packets for water. On a side note, I found about 4 kinds of Jordan's Skinny Syrups at Bealls Outlet store for $3.99 a bottle, just in case yall have that store in your area and are interested. I hear the syrups are good for flavoring shakes and etc.
