How are the banded Notorious Novembers???
amberd0717 replied to mljalways's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey everyone. I was banded November 12th. Just wanted to join the novembers :w00t: Plus i'm trying to figure out this whole signature ticker thing. :cursing: -
Hey everyone. So far so good. Surgery date was November 12th. Today is day 4. I'm still pretty sore, but i'm up and moving around a ton, even driving. The gas thing sucks. And i'm soooo incredibly ready for real food. Today I had a starbucks coffee because i was desperate for something yummy, warm, and familiar. It was wonderful. I would still kill for a chicken mcnugget or meximelt though LOL. I can definitely feel a little restriction, at least I think that's what it is. It's hard to tell what the different pains are yet. Anyway, how did everyone else feel after surgery? I'm curious.

Hey everyone. Tomorrow is the big day  I'm so ready. I hope everything goes good. I'm a little worried since i didn't do so hot on the liquid diet. So far i've lost almost 15 pounds :w00t: I think tomorrow before surgery it will be officially 15.

Today is day 6. I didn't do so well yesterday or the day before, but so far today is not horrible. I miss food though. I so badly want to just go pig out and have one last binge, but i know that would be bad bad bad so i'm going to fight through it and just keep counting down to November 12th. I hope everyone is doing great. :smile2: Hey, does anyone know when the next support group meeting is at st johns? I would like to start going to those.

Hey everyone. I finally have a surgery date. It is November 12th. It's going to be here before I know it. Although i'm sure the 2 weeks of liquids is going to feel like 2 years. THis is gonna be tough. How did some of you survive? Any tricks of the trade? I've definitely emptied the house out so there are no temptations. Got rid of all that halloween candy. I'm just going to keep my porch light off this year. I had my "last supper" actually last day of suppers LOL. Got my Gyros in, and red lobster's shrimpfest. yum now it's nothin but liquids and jello LOL woohoo. I can't believe i'm actually excited about a liquid diet lOL

Hey Andi, that was just me ranting and raving about my dissapointment that they changed my final consultation twice. St Johns really is great, I have no complaints other than that one little thing that just hit me at the wrong week. Cox has started their surgeries or are starting them later this month. THey are already taking people through the process. My mom is going through them and has had all of her appointments except for the final consultation. So yep they are definitely starting them. They're in network for me too but my insurance doesn't even cover the surgery so I went through st johns hoping it would be a bit faster. I should find out my surgery date tuesday I can't wait.

Hey Lemonlime, don't be scared. :Dancing_biggrin: It's going to be wonderful and from the sounds of it, Dr Edwards rocks. You are in very capable hands. How long after your final consultation was your surgery date? I'm curious because I have my final consult one week from today so i'm curious when the surgery may be. I'm over my little dissapointment temper tantrum LOL. It's been one of those last couple of weeks. I can't wait to get this surgery so I can change my life for the better. Cindy, 75 pounds that is so awesome. :crying: Congrats girl. Susan, how are things with your mom? Did they get the medicare requirements lined out?
-
I am so incredibly frustrated. They have called to reschedule my appointment twice now. First was the 16th, then the 21st, now the 28th. Not only do I have to keep waiting for what I feel like i can't wait for, I have to keep changing my vacation time off requests from my boss who is getting very annoyed. I even had to re-arrange a customer visit for the last one and now I have to switch it back. I am sooooooo annoyed. I wonder if i made a big mistake choosing St Johns over Cox. I'm just so incredibly dissapointed.

We will definitely have to meet up at that support group meeting. I had been bouncing back and forth whether I should go or not. But I really want to go so i'm trying to get my courage up to show up by myself LOL. I will more than likely be there. Sorry to hear about the new medicare snag. I hope they get it ironed out fairly quickly.

Hey everyone. Not much chatter lately. I hope everyone is doing well. I have a final consultation appointment with Dr Edwards October 16th, I am so excited. I have all the money lined up and ready to go, and even have my liquid diet all figured out. I can't wait, I am so ready to get this done.

Hey everyone. Things are finally starting to progress. I have had the insitial consultation with Dr Edwards, Katie, dietician, exercise rehab, and the 8 hour class. I have my final follow-up with Katie tomorrow, and then it's back on the waiting game for a final consultation with Dr Edwards. I am so excited. I hope they can get me in quickly. After you all completed everything, how long did it take to get the final consultation with edwards, and the surgery date? Just curious.
-
Hey everyone. :w00t: I finally have a consultation date. this thursday YYAAAYYY, and the psych eval is tuesday the 2nd, Hopefully this means I can get things rolling and being self-pay, maybe I can get this done early november. That's my goal. :cool2: Of course, the sooner the better. :cursing: I just can't wait.

I am so excited, I was able to jump into the seminar on the 11th. They had a cancelation so i jumped on it and am in the 11th instead of the 23rd. I really am hoping to get this surgery before the holidays. Hopefully now I can. I plan on getting my paperwork filled out after the meeting and faxing it first thing in the morning.

Sounds like everyone has nothing but possitive things to say about Dr Edwards. That is great news. I'm in springfield and he'll be my doctor as well. I'm just in the first phase though. I am scheduled for the seminar on the 26th. Hopefully I can manage to get things going shortly after that. I plan to fax the paperwork back to Mary on that same saturday so she'll have them first thing monday morning. :cool2: I am so ready for this. I can't wait to watch and see how well you are all doing. :w00t: It's so exciting to see the amazing numbers people are dropping. I can't wait to be one of those people. :tt2:

Hi Diane, thanks for the welcome. That is actually good news that it was not quite 3 months. I'm hoping to get through all the classes in 3 months. My goal is to get this done before the holidays. I would love to get it done in early november but not sure how realistic that wishful thinking is. I can't wait to hear about the success stories. I'm so ready to get this done.

Hey everyone, I posted on the other board but thought i would post here too. I'm new to the whole lap band world. I am doing this as self-pay because my insurance unfortunately won't cover it, but i'm not letting that stop me. I have about 160 lbs to lose, so i figured i better do something now. I'm 31 and i'm ready to finally live my life without feeling held back. I am scheduled for the seminar towards the end of august and am ready to get this on the ball. They told me to expect about 3-5 months to get in all the classes and get scheduled, for those self-pay out there, is that about right? or can it go a bit faster. I'm really hoping to get it done before the holidays start. Hopefully by the end of october or early november. I would love to surprise my family at thanksgiving having lost some weight. Anyway, I look forward to reading about everyone's success. Amber :cool2:

Hi everyone. :cool2: I'm new to the group. Just been researching online some info on lap band. My insurance doesn't cover it, so i'm self-pay, but i've decided I spend that much on eating out and bad food, so why not just bite the bullet and make the changes I so desperately need. I have about 160 pounds to lose. I'm 31 and have been heavy my entire life. I am so ready for this change. I am scheduled for the seminar at st johns on the 23rd so hopefully i'll see some of you there . I'm going to call them tomorrow and see if i can get into an earlier seminar but I believe they're all booked up at this point. Hopefully I can get the ball rolling pretty quickly  So anyway, I look forward to reading all of these posts and see how things are going. Amber
