I've been trying some beef bone broths and I don't really love any of them. I do like a lot of the chicken broth options. If you find a good beef bone broth please share! Sent from my SM-N986U using BariatricPal mobile app

I did my first day of liquid diet thanks to your inspiration! It wasn't bad at all. I think you've got the right idea keeping protein high in everything. Sent from my SM-N986U using BariatricPal mobile app

My insurance doesn't require any weight loss before surgery, but my doctor does. The dietician there gave me two months to lose 15 pounds. I'm 4 pounds away. I've been really relaxed with my diet and exercise up until now. If I don't lose the 4 pounds by Monday then I have to do two weeks of a strict liquid diet instead of one week of liquid diet before surgery. I think I'm just going to jump in and do liquid diet for a few days. It'll be a good test run! Also, if I'm being honest, I'm so stubborn. I hate it when people tell me what I have to eat. So if I make the decision now it's just easier. [emoji38] Sent from my SM-N986U using BariatricPal mobile app

Thank you for posting this!!!! I've been considering going to an all liquid diet early to hit my pre-op weight goal. I have a check-in with my dietician next Monday and I need to lose 4 pounds by then. Are you doing anything special with the jello for dinner or just preparing it like normal? I'm not outpatient. I will have one night at the hospital. I think outpatient might have its advantages though. My husband will have to split his time between the hospital and being home with our teenage boys. Sent from my SM-N986U using BariatricPal mobile app

I wish I had an adjustable bed! Definitely on my wish list for later! The deep cleaning is a good idea! I do have some clutter and neglected areas of my house that I should tackle before. Sent from my SM-N986U using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm curious what people having surgery in August are doing right now to prepare. It doesn't seem real yet so I've only started thinking about what I need to do or buy in preparation. I did finally order a reclining chaise that was on clearance at a local furniture store to sleep in for the first week or so. Sent from my SM-N986U using BariatricPal mobile app

Any August 2022 buddies out there??
heartofmercury replied to Connie88's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My surgery is scheduled for August 8th. The doc office I'm going through has a program where you come in and weigh 3 weeks before your surgery. If you are within 5 pounds of your pre-op goal then you only have to do the liquid diet for one week before surgery. If not, you have to do two weeks of liquid diet. On their liquid diet you can only have clear, sugar-free liquids and 4 shakes per day made with the protein powder they sell at their office mixed with milk or Mootopia (protein milk substitute). That's it. Needless to say, I'm really aiming to be in that range where I only have to do one week of the liquid diet! Sent from my SM-N986U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Same here! I love vintage dresses and skirts also!! I have a ton of my grandmother's old patterns and some throw back ones that McCalls makes, but I've always been too big for the available sizes. There are so many things to look forward to. I don't even think I could list them all. Sent from my SM-N986U using BariatricPal mobile app

Hi! I'm also scheduled for gastric sleeve in August on the 8th. I'm nervous also but really excited for the weight-loss. I would like lose over 100 pounds. I'm 6'2" and my CW is 277. I'm sad I'm missing out on all of these cute dresses this season, but I just keep reminding myself that I can go crazy shopping for a new wardrobe next summer.
