I'm sorry you're not feeling 100%. I'm not sure if this is helpful but I am having trouble being motivated to eat the food I should. I realized on Friday I havn't been walking and I haven't gotten any real sunlight in the last week. I started making an effort to get outside and take my vitamin d. I think its helping.

Recommendations for surgeons near Austin, TX?

I've heard that some plastic surgeons are booked a year in advance. Does anyone have any recommendations for plastic surgeons near Austin that specialize in tummy tucks and breast lifts? -
Went to see my doctor today....

I love hearing this!!! Congratulations! You've been on a path of self improvement for a while! -
Thank you for providing this! I'm saving it for reference!

I also am not losing as fast as I would like. Focus on your habits and the results will happen. My cousin who had this surgery several years ago said that it was frustrating for her for a long time and then one day she realized that she had lost 100 pounds. Trust the process and congrats on the weight lost so far!

Wow!!! Congrats! Its so good to hear you're doing well after some of the obstacles. You mentioned in another post that you are also going to school and working full time. How is that going? -
I had a check-in with my surgeon's NP and and dietician today. I was SO nervous leading up to this appointment! I was expecting to lose more weight and was nervous the nurse practicioner would be upset with me. They said that everything is going really good. I've lost 22 pounds since my surgery date, 42 days ago. They do want me to up my water intake to 100 oz and walk 10,000 steps per day. That's going to be a challenge, but I'm up for it. They also said I'm on track to get to a healthy BMI (25) at one-year post op!

Reintroducing Alcohol (a surgeon’s perspective)

I really love Dr. John Pilcher's videos! He's great. -
I don't know how open you are to traveling but there's a place in San Antonio, TX that advertises the sleeve for $9,990. It's Sage Bariatric. https://www.sagebariatric.com/sleeve-surgey-9400/ They have a ton of accolades and awards and John Pilcher has some really great YouTube content. Their office was one of my top choices. The only reason I didn't choose them is because I didn't want to travel after surgery and found a wonderful surgeon closer to home.

Not eating, drinking or walking enough…
heartofmercury replied to LookingForward22's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I still struggle to hit my water and protein goals. Some days I hit them, others I fall a little short. Give youself some grace. My doc's office is staffed with a whole bunch of people who have never had weight loss surgery. I respect their advice but I also have to remember that they've never been in my situation. Also, I'm VERY tall for a woman and I realize some of the advice they give is tailored to to the average person. Instead, I try to listen to what my body needs. I also try not to compare myself with others because my situation is unique. Instead, I focus on my habits. I'm sending good vibes your way. That time of the month is the worst. -
Congrats!! The smoked salmon and avocado sounds amazing. Also, yay for the boosted energy!

I'm so happy for you!! That first taste of refried beans and melted cheese is one of the things that will be forever burned into my memory...it was so good.

Yes! 100%! I wanted to lose over 25 pounds in the first month like other people have and it didn't happen [emoji38]

Thanks. I just started feeling like I turned the corner this week. I've also been stalled. A few days ago I called my younger cousin who had the sleeve 3 years ago and talked to her for a while. She let me vent and then told me that she felt like the weight loss was so slow and she was constantly worried she wasn't losing enough. Then one day she woke up and was 100 pounds down. She said not to stress and that the weight loss will happen. Everybody heals differently. I hope your stronger, more energetic self is right around the corner too!

Today I'm 31 days post-op. I'm feeling stronger and healthier than before surgery! I still get tired easier, but I'm so grateful that I had this surgery.

I'm happy you're feeling better! I'm sending good thoughts your way for the soreness and swelling. [emoji847]

I hope you feel a lot better soon. Those first couple of days were the hardest for me.
-
Thanks for sharing! I also worry what my dietician will say on my post op appointments. I hope my peeps are as encouraging as yours!

Thanks@karakent. [emoji3059] I needed to hear this!

I'm having the same thoughts! My doc did warn me about the 3 week stall so hopefully they'll be understanding and helpful.
