Got the results of my biopsies

This is great news! You've also got such a great attitude about it all. Sending you well wishes for your upcoming revision. -
Congratulations! 71 pounds lost is amazing! I had surgery on 8/8/22 and I've lost 64 pounds. I've still got 36 more to go. I'm finally to the stage where I have to track my food and exercise to consistently lose. It's more effort now than in the beginning but it is still 1000 times easier than before surgery. I'm so happy I made this decision. Also, way to go on the nonscale victories like crossing your legs!

Noom Weight loss Program
heartofmercury replied to Michele 2021's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was not a fan of Noom for a lot of the same reasons. Apparently steamed cheesy broccoli that you can find in the freezer section is a red (bad) food. Some of the suggestions they gave on separate weeks were that intermittant fasting is good, then to beware going too long between meals because you would get too hungry. I kept thinking, make up your mind with the advice. -
Advice needed: How to do Thanksgiving
heartofmercury posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Veterans of weight-loss surgery, what kind of plan do you go into Thanksgiving with? Do you count calories, weigh your food or just eat tiny portions of what you want? Do you go out of your way to make WLS-friendly sides and desserts? I just broke a 3 week stall and I don't want to go back to that weight ever again. Any tips and tricks are appreciated! -
Advice needed: How to do Thanksgiving
heartofmercury replied to heartofmercury's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you everyone for the wonderful advice! Our family is preparing Thanksgiving dinner at our house. My husband and kids all have their favorite dishes or special requests. I usually end up cooking for the first half of the day. As for me....I'm going to focus mainly on proteins, then get very small amounts of anything else that sounds good and I think my stomach can handle. I also recruited my husband for a neighborhood walk this evening. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am truly thankful for this community and its caring people!! -
I've been stuck at the same weight for 4 weeks now. I'm starting to panic. I'm nowhere near my goal weight. I've been trying to drink all of my water and get my protein in. I've got extra stress for work and school right now. I know that's not helping. Anyone have some advice or similar struggles?

Stuck at 3.5 Months Post-Op
heartofmercury replied to heartofmercury's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's wild that your stall broke in 3 days of switching it up! Definitely going to break out the weights today! And thanks for the positive encouragement. -
There are a lot of carbs...like 2g per gummy! Thanks for sharing what you're doing.

Thanks, I drink coffee so that would definitely work for me too.

Stuck at 3.5 Months Post-Op
heartofmercury replied to heartofmercury's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you both! I haven't been tracking all day. I start off really great and track until dinner. Starting now, I'll make a point to track everything. I have an appointment with my dietician in December. I may just ask to move it up so I can get this figured out. -
Also losing my hair much faster than normal. When i see the amount coming out in the brush or shower it makes me sad. Has anyone tried collagen gummies?

Easiest Change?
heartofmercury replied to KimA-GA's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Same thing with the lack of sugar cravings. If I start getting a craving for chocolate I just have part of a Fairlife chocolate shake. The other part that's been easy for me is the lightened mental load of this weight-loss process. I used to agonize over calories and carbs eaten. I would track everything and make a point to workout several times per week. I would beat myself up over slip-ups and cheats. I was always thinking about my next meal. Now I'm less stressed and making better choices in general. The weight is steadily coming off and for the first time I don't have to fight my metabolism tooth and nail. -
Way to go!

I enjoy not having to wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom!

Same here! As long as the scale is going down I'm happy. Isn't it funny how we can do all of the research and ask all the questions before surgery and it still takes going through it to figure it out? [emoji1] I'm glad to hear you're doing well!

I'm losing so slow...like a pound a week. I also messed up and ate too much this weekend at a restaurant. My throat felt like it was on fire and I had the foamies. All in all, I've had a relatively easy time after surgery. I'm still so happy I had this surgery. I'm still learning lessons and taking it a day at a time. How have you been@SuziDavis?

I know it's normal, but it's still SUPER annoying!!
heartofmercury replied to SleeveToBypass2023's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just started losing a lot more hair than normal and I'm 70 days post-op. It's disheartening to see my hair fall in these amounts. -

Crazy and Sad Realizations

Congratulations on the weight loss. Also, I understand not having a normal sized childhood. I wanted so much to have the experiences my friends were having when they were picking out prom dresses or going shopping for bathing suits in the summer. You're not alone. Sending you hugs! -
Crazy and Sad Realizations

@kcuster83 I didn't realize you are 6ft tall! I'm so happy to know there's another tall gal on here! I'm 6 ft 2 inches and when I tell people my goal is to get to onederland they always question... "is that it?" I've also battled 100 pounds over the last decade. Some years I would feel like I was winning, but most I would be struggling and railing against srubborn weight that would not come off. I'm so grateful for this surgery and the chance at a healthier me. -
I REALLY hate PCOS...I feel defeated...

Sending good thoughts your way! I hope they figure it out soon and its nothing major and is easily remedied! -
TX has been in the 100s too! It's exhausting. Right there with you. Speaking of weather, stay safe in the next few days!!!
