Thank you! I am writing this down to ask her. PS. Love your avatar... I love Firefly.

I have Kaiser and they refer some of their patients out for bariatric surgery and follow up. They do have a few surgeons but I guess they have a lot of patients so some of us went out of network.

Mine rumbles when I eat. Kind of glad to know I'm not alone with a noisy stomach.

Neither of my programs really limited carbs. (My *** refers Bariatrics out sometimes) However, my PCP did ask me to limit my carbs to under 50 grams per day. This is due to diabetes. What our plan was is for me to increase the amount of carbs slowly. I do find that most of the food I eat is not that high in simple carbs and now I tend to choose healthier options for myself. I think along with your doctor you can find a happy medium for yourself.

I know it's normal, but it's still SUPER annoying!!
Candigrl1 replied to SleeveToBypass2023's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry you are going through this and I know it sucks. I guess I'm lucky and unlucky at the same time. My shedding has seriously decreased so I only had a short time of losing a ton of hair. But due to massive shedding in the years before surgery I see more scalp now (and I mean a lot). Its getting harder to disguise it. I wanted a cute pixie cut but scared my scalp will show so I'll be off to the hairdresser for a consult soon. The good thing is there will be new growth so all we can do is wait this out and per my Derm make sure Protein, water and Vitamin D levels are good. -
When did your program give you the OK to take vitamins?
Candigrl1 replied to raspberrylime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started taking my chewable vitamins as soon as I got home from the hospital. First time I took one I got so sick and soon learned to take them after I eat. To this day I cannot tolerate taking them on an empty stomach. -
Yea, I was drinking those as well as using Benefiber. It didn't really help me though I have recently increased my water intake up from 64 oz. to around close to 80 oz. and that has helped so I'll keep an eye on it and I shall see.

So its been six weeks of this stall. I have spoken to the nutritionist who gave me some suggestions, mainly switching up what I eat (done that) and exercising more (done that). I'm out of ideas. Does anyone have any suggestions of some things I could try? Thanks

what did it feel like when you ate?
Candigrl1 replied to KimA-GA's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yea...I'm one of those who sneezes, usually 9 or 10 times in a row. LOL -
I'll check those out. Thanks

For me it was the constipation, loose skin and food intolerance. There are some foods I still can't tolerate though I keep trying. I hate the constant constipation and I have tried so many things. I knew about the loose skin but really didn't grasp how bad it could be. Can't wait until I have skin removal surgery.

My doc wouldn't touch me until mine was under 9 and of course once I got it down to 8 she wanted a retest in case it was a fluke. When I had my surgery it was 7.6.

Yes, I do. I use the Baritastic app and use my scale for everything. Maybe I need to up my calories a bit, I don't know.
-
Yes, I have been walking. I was told to move the incline of the treadmill up some. I think you are the one who is on incline 3, if that's you more power to you girl. I darn near gave out and had to slow down my speed. LOL

Hi, Welcome! I also have a dairy and fish allergy so it was a bit harder for me to find a more varied diet. For the yogurt I was using Siggi's plant based yogurt but have since moved over to Kite Hill plant based greek yogurt. Less carbs, less calories and more protein. For my drinks I use Evolve mainly. I used to use Orgain and OWYN but I think those both have sunflower in them. Just make sure you read the labels and you will be fine.

So this month's rate of loss has significantly slowed down and I'm not sure that's due to a stall or normal. For August my loss was around 12 lbs and this month it's just 4.4. I have just entered my 6th month since surgery. I'm now yo-yoing within 2 to 4 lbs overall. Is this normal? The amount of calories I take in have increased a slight bit from around 760 to appox. 800-810. Wouldn't I still be losing weight at this point?

GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats!

Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go first

I have been measuring myself and I never seem to see the tape go down at all. Seems like my measurement stays the same. Well today, I tried on some new jeans that I haven't been able to fit into just yet and today they zipped right up. I'm so happy. Now I wish I could learn to take good body selfies. Well that's next on the agenda. LOL -
Hair is starting to thin a bit
Candigrl1 replied to liveaboard15's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My hair shedding started around month 3 and is finally decreasing a bit. I had already had massive shedding before surgery so maybe that's why it slowed down so fast. I see lots of scalp now but I'm going to wait until it stops then see the hairdresser about what type of cut I want. Hang in there it will start to decrease and eventually stop. As for the stalls I usually get one every month and of course this month was no exception. I reexamined my diet and found I was drinking way too much Crystal Light (approx 50-60 oz) and have switched back to plain water and have started losing again though a bit slower. Stay safe out there in Florida! -
Went to see my doctor today....

Congrats! You look great! -
Actually it was closer to 3 weeks like day 19 or 20 but it did break and yours will too.
-
The first one was 2 1/2 weeks and the last three lasted about a week.
-
I wanted to ask everyone this question. When your hair loss started did it just start falling out alot all at once or did it start with some shedding that increased? Thank you

Eat the amount of calories your team advises you to eat. I thought the same as you did in the beginning the stall will pass, it sucks right now cause you are in the middle of it but it will pass. I have been through four stalls since my surgery and I still lost weight maybe I will hit another and maybe not but I'm not too worried about it right now. Stay strong.
