  1. LOL ain't that the truth! 🤣
  2. I am finally under my drivers license weight, I can't wait for renewal so I can update my weight.
  3. I have been snacking alot more lately. It seems like I am much more hungry now. I have been eating faster lately. I noticed I eat slower when I am out with friends. Do you think its possible that my snacking is related to eating too fast?
  4. Sorry you are going through this. I too had the same problem. What I did was increase my fiber so I usually get around 15-20 grams per day and I drink about 70-80 oz of water. I use Benefiber and try to find foods that have a decent amount of fiber in them. This has helped me tremendously. It was so bad that I had to use enemas at least weekly until I started taking more fiber and water. Now I am very regular.

    Eating slow

I'm the opposite. I'm too busy running my mouth so my eating slows way down when I'm with someone. LOL

    Eating slow

What I recently started doing is to cut down the amount of carbs daily and it has helped. I have went back to using a timer to slow down my eating.

    Eating slow

is your snacking causing you to eat more calories over all? Yes

    Eating slow

    Never heard of that app.

    Eating slow

Yes my restriction kicks in and I do stop eating but am usually hungry about 1 hour later. Hopefully I will figure out what is triggering the hunger/snacking. I don't have a dietician, my health plan gives you a book for their patients to follow and the dieticians they do have do not have experience with bariatric patients. and give not so great advice. I'll probably have to pay out of pocket for a tailor made plan.

    Water intake

This is good advice. I spent my first couple of months sipping all day. I started with the 1 oz cups and moved on to an 8 oz cup and finally 16 oz. Now I can finally get in all my water and then some and drinking warm water helped me alot.

    So depressed about my hair

Thanks everyone for the cheer up and great suggestions. 🙂
  15. I noticed since some weight loss I have been super clumsy. Its like my equilibrium is off. If I'm walking on a flat surface I will all of a sudden start slanting and usually grab something to steady myself. Has anyone had this happen to them?

    Dealing with Sabotage

I think your husband needs to step up and either have her leave or tell her to knock it off. And next time she does this... "Instead she'll buy my favorite junk food and put it on display and keep telling me it needs to be eaten NOW." Just say oh yea I guess it does need to be eaten, well I guess you should get on that. Sorry...that's my 2 cents.
  17. I agree with Sleeve_me_alone, it does take time. I felt the same way my first two weeks from surgery. Don't worry that energy will be back.
  18. Okay here goes... This just happened a few minutes ago. I was sitting here reading through the forum, looked down and noticed my legs were crossed. When the heck did that happen. I'm so happy. 😁
  19. I was drinking at least two protein shakes per day for the first five months after my surgery. Since I couldn't drink dairy I have found some non dairy yogurts. i have slowly stopped drinking my shakes because I have found food is better for me. I just recently found I can drink whey isolate protein water so I sometimes have one of those per day. That way I get my water and some protein in if needed. I track my food intake to make sure to get my protein in and if I'm lacking in protein then I grab a protein water so I don't have to worry about the shakes anymore.
  20. I feel you, I hate how my neck looks. I have turkey neck but I don't care. I look and feel better than before the weight loss.

    Shirt size

I went from size 26 to 18 and heading toward 16. I've been wearing a lot of leggings that are kind of form fitting so I won't have to buy much in the future. My issue is I'm a bit of a shopaholic so I don't know how long I'm going to last without buying something new while waiting to drop more weight. 😏
  23. This Thursday is my six month follow up with the surgeon who did my bypass. Because my health plan refers out this will be the last time I see her, then my plan takes over. I'm at a loss on what to ask her. Are there any questions I should be asking her about at this point? Thanks

    6 month follow up

I will be seeing my primary on Monday and we are going to discuss this as the bariatric center only asked for Vitamin D blood tests.

    6 month follow up

I think they meant the protein shakes. I can currently drink the clear protein water and the nurse from the Kaiser support group and my doctor said it was fine and counted. I think you should start attending some of the sessions and/or join their Facebook support group and ask your questions there. Your local Kaiser bariatrics should have that info.
