Hey all. I turn 60 in September and surgery date was 5/23/2022. I was my lowest June 2023 at 123.4. I am currently running about 142. I am mad that I gained back what I have. I don’t want it to keep climbing. I am back to using my app and trying my best to keep track of food Water and back to race walking jogging every other day and walking the dogs in the park every other day. I hope to regulate the water and Vitamins. The vitamins still cause Constipation and that for me is serious. I hate taking dulcolax or pills for this. Anyone else having issues gain back? Or the Vitamin issue?

Forgot to mention that I am 60yo. Are there any older gastric sleeve patients out there?

So today during a work meeting, one of my colleagues who I have known for many years turned and said to me, "you are annoyingly beautiful".
I was genuinely taken aback by this, and just laughed and jokingly told her to shut up 😂 but I wanted to just think about why this shocked me so much.
I always thought compliments like that were reserved for those people who were confident and effortlessly beautiful.
I really am not used to receiving compliments, or really even being perceived, and I think this is something that a lot of people who struggle with their weight feel at some point.
280lbs me just wanted to be small and unseen, and not looked at for the wrong reason (very superficial, I know). And now I am being seen, I think, in a different light.
It does feel weird. In most ways, it is really nice getting compliments like that, I feel really happy and it was genuinely sweet of her. In other ways, I feel a little bit of grief for the girl who I was a few short months ago, and how she didn't get told things like that.
Either way, I do feel really happy about being told that, and weirdly a little tearful if I am honest!
Anyway...happy Monday all! 😂

Good luck tomorrow! I'll see you on the other side of this! I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am tomorrow! Getting VERY nervous! Also hoping I've shrunk my liver enough. scale has hardly moved this week even though I haven't cheated at all! Hoping its just muscle gain since I've been going to the gym all week.

Preop lost 15 lbs, going into surgery in couple hrs the liquid diet was ok a lot more f mental no’s , still more work to go after surgery. 🤞

I decided to try mostly liquid diet for this week to see how it feels and if i can do it.
My doc gave me a 1200 - 1400 cal diet low carb high Protein to follow, I started feeling like I was eating too much bulk.
Hope I can do this !~!

I'm feeling very good. I never had gas which was surprising. My pain was managed very well. 1 week is plenty of time off (office) work. Being on full liquids really opened my food opportunity. I think I am an exception to the rule with how well I am doing.

I’m scheduled for May 9th. I’m excited and nervous too. I’m reading as much as I can and asking a million questions so I can be prepared for the after.

Been overweight since puberty. Starved to lose weight to be a normal teenage girl. i walked and jogged and starved.
Had two boys by 23 yrs old. Gallbladder removed at 23 years old. Gained weight afterward. Divorces and lifes ups and downs along with the scale. Ate Atkins/Keto for seven years. Fell off and back on occasionally. Went from 236 in 2013 to 184 in 2015. Moved to NC and lost to 179 after Covid. Put that back on and then some. Hysterosalpingo-oophorectomy 2004. No hormone replacement therapy due to family hx. of ca. Struggle with Keto last seven years. Cannot eat "normal" without gaining weight. So sick of struggling. Hope that this surgery will be a great tool to get back to my "fighting weight" of 135. I am 5'2 3/4"
I now have fibromyalgia, osteo arthritis, UCTD, sleep Apnea, high cholesterol, and occasional high bp and inflammation in my hands, legs, etc..
Its time to get healthy again. If any of you are approximately 200lb or any weight for that matter, I would love to pen pal.
I have pre-op jitters. Scared the closer May 24th approaches. I want this but the rest of my life with this WOE scares me so much. I have a really good appetite and I am afraid of failure.
