    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

    Kathy, I'm in the same place - can't do the 20 minutes -- I did 9 minutes then 5 of walking then another 9 minutes of jogging. The next day (yesterday) I did 10min each of jogging and 4 minute of walking in the middle. Tomorrow - I'm going for 11 or 12 minutes each of walking and cutting short the warm up and cool down periods so I'm still at 30 minutes (have to get out of the gym quick to pick up DS from dayccare). So I'm calling it the modified for me c25k from now on! LOL Serenity

    I stayed at wk5 day 2 today -- there were a couple guys in the gym today - usually it's just a few women - coworkers that I know - and they encourage me. I wasn't going to huff and puff and call out for encouragement in front of two guys. So I did warm up of 5 minutes, 9 minutes, walked for 5 ran another 9 minutes, and cool down of 2 minutes. Maybe tomorrow will be the day! Good luck in your attempt! Serenity

    Congrats on the wk day 2 -- I just did that one today as well. I made it! I still can't imagine being able to go 20 minutes! I'm debating whether to do today one more time or just go to the 20 minutes. Serenity

    Bonnie, I'm preband too -- hopefully will have surgery in October. Congrats on the 20 minute run! I'm starting wk 5 tomorrow - so we'll see how I do at the end of the week on the 20 minute! Serenity

    Finished week 4 today! I love the feeling at the end of the work out of Yes! I did it! I think I'm one of the slower ones -- I walk at 3.2 mph and jog at 3.8 or 3.9 mph. I have short legs so that is my excuse! Serenity

    Hi all, I'm new to this site - but this thread caught my eye as I am doing this c25k program myself. I just did week 4 day 2 -- kicked my butt! I didn't do the second 3 minute run but did the 2nd 5 minute! My problem is that my left calf gets crampy when I run - any suggestions? Today's a rest day for me - I'll do either weights or the elliptical if I go to the gym today. I may skip today and go to a post op meeting at another program. I am still preop - have 100 lbs to lose and will meet the surgeon in a month. My surgery should probably be in October I'm hoping. Serenity
