May Surgery Buddies

That's funny you said that because I was thinking when I get to pureed I wonder if I could handle a few buts of pureed steak. Steak is something I don't normally crave. I normally don't have red meat but every couple of months. I eat chicken, turkey, fish and pork. I am learning to eat slower. I have always been a fast eater. I found eating slowly I can enjoy my food like I did when I ate a large volume. I was eating some yogurt and I took tiny bits resting in between. It was delicious. Learning to have a different relationship with food has been an emotional journey. I have never been one to enjoy cooking. I enjoying making my own creative smoothies. I put some avocado in my smoothie for the nutrition value and sweet cherries because I love them added my protein and some fiber, almond milk and non daily yogurt. I really found it tasted like a treat. Today I will make a different one with peaches and who knows what else. Trying to develop a relationship with food that engages healthy benefits. Thinking I am eating for my health gives it a different dynamic than to fill my comfort needs or just to fill up. Though I think treating ourselves occasionally maje it less likely we will cheat as much. Oh...I have sugarfree chocolate pudding, hmmmmm what can I do with that in a smoothie. -
Me either, mine was May 13

I have their liquid protein. It takes 2 table spoons for 18gs of protein. It has a little of aftertaste when I used it but found I needed more water with it. I have grape. I don't think it's real sweet but I like the idea of only 2.5oz. I am going in to fluids tomorrow

I am itching as well. The incision that had the drain is still leaking a little of clear fluid. No redness. I want it to heal so that I can get into the pool soon. Today is day six and I can't believe the difference in one day. Every morning when I get up I feel as though someone kicked me on the gut. It's slightly sore/stift but not near the pain. I am just tired. Anyone else want a nap Every day?

That's awesome. I had mine the 13. I gained weight because I was so swollen. It's is starting to come off. I gained 6 lbs and now I am down those 6. Can't wait for next week and walking more to see how much I will use.

My doctor has me on 10 days clear, 10 days full liquid, 10 days pureed then solids. I am taking in a lot of fluids, more than 64 oz. I has around 80 g of protein. I would like something more filling. Like yogurt. I sent a message to ask about advancing to full. My doctor is in Mexico. -

My stay is three nights. I am in mexicali Mexico. Mine is a revision . After surgery in the past the sore thoat was really bad. We drove almost 4 hours to the border. Left our car on the US side and was picked up. Since we have been here before checking the hospital out I am not as nervous as I thought. -

We are driving almost 4 hours and I am going to MX. I just want to be prepared but they did suggest a heating pad and drinks for the way home. I am just worried I will not like what they give me. I know I am over prepared. I stay in the hospital three nights. They do three leak test. One during surgery. I am here in MX so far so good. The interpreter met me to go over the pre op but I had done most of it when I was done here two weeks ago. They gave me an antibodic to take and Ativan to help me sleep. Went the pharmacy and picked up some meds. Waiting for the morning. -

I mine is Friday. I am excited and nervous. I am ready. -
Sweet stories. I married at 19 to an abusive man kept that a secret till left after 10 years. I raised my son by myself. I met someone through a dating program. We dated 5 years before we would commit to marriage. We have been married 13 years. Some time it feels like yesterday and other I have know him all my life. My ex husband was a mean person calling me "a fat f*** b*****". My husband now is so supportive even though he likes a woman with a little weight "to hold on to". I have been blessed in my life to survive a bad marriage. My ex never remarried though he tried. He died a year ago all a lone at home from cirrhosis. Very sad he did not have to live that way he was very intelligent but had too many demons to deal with.

Funny! It should be a darn crime that we eat food and it goes on our hips and other people like my mom had candy bars and cokes daily and never gained weight. -

I just saw this comment. What is it that your surgeon says to start the week before surgery? -

How are you doing Tim -
hello, since you did not have nausea is that the reason your going to puree? Just wondering if it's different for different surgeons or it depends how your healing?. My surgery is friday Hi all, my surgery is coming up Friday. Realistically how much fluids did you get down the first day after surgery? I am thinking that is going to be difficult so i should put protein in what ever i am drinking. I have a grape flavor that i can mix with water.

Hi everyone I am having surgery May 13. A revision sleeve. I had surgery 2016 lost 60lbs. Gain 25 back. I live in AZ and went to Mexicali MX . I checked out the hospital and had a barium swallow. The technique that was the first time did not take out the hunger hormones. He told me it was not my fault. There are two pockets that need to be trimed to correct the sleeve. I did not have to do a lot of prior testing. Xray, ekg, blood work, urine test. My insurance does not cover weight loss surgery. This surgery is higher than some places in MX but it's a nice hospital with a blood bank, ER, ICU ect. 6500.00. Anyone interested forming a Facebook group of our own set to private
