Exact same thing happened to me. Post op day 11: sudden onset very severe right sided pain when I moved. No pain when I was still. I had to walk for a few days with my hands holding my abdomen! Totally gone by day 15. Surgeon said muscular.

Hi friends; I'm about to start pureed stage tomorrow. RD's talked to me about pureed chicken/fish. They didn't mention pureed red meat. I sent them a message to ask, but also thought I would ask here: did anyone eat pureed beef (small amount of course) in the puree stage (2-3 weeks post op)? Thanks!

Hi all, looking to see if anyone has had a similar issue. I've been doing so well, and suddenly feeling stabbing pains on my right side that make me double over. Any idea what it might be or what I might do to treat it? I did call my surgeon who said it's likely musculoskeletal. Thanks in advance friends.

Happened to me as well; and low BP too. They told me it was due to anesthesia after effects and also from scopolamine patch. Good luck!

I had this issue after childbirth. What worked for me is trying while standing up in the shower. Sorry for TMI 😬

Iron vitamins
ohjuly7878 replied to GreatAuntAngie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for answering the question I had Re iron. Would you folks say that your decision (re whether or not you need iron) is based on your blood iron level? Or something else? Thanks! -

7 Days Post Op - Ate Cottage Cheese
ohjuly7878 replied to JanJan19's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
YES YES YES. I am going a bit crazy! This morning I had a couple of sips of caffeinated coffee with half and half. Heaven! I plan to do the same tomorrow. *side eyes myself as well*. In my post op pamphlet it actually included cottage cheese during first two weeks, but then it was crossed out... so I suspect it’s really okay and just an individual thing! -
Thanks all so much! Just today I am finally starting to feel like myself again. I guess I was just surprised by how difficult the first few days were. But getting to support in this forum has really helped. Thank you!

Had my sleeve on May 23 and had to go to ER twice over the weekend for pain and dehydration. Now pain almost gone but still get something like esophageal spasms. Driving me crazy and very worried that it won’t go away and that I will have to revise to bypass down the road. Psychologically I am really hurting and questioning this decision. Very anxious.

Hi all, I’m 2 days post op (sleeve) and it’s really hurting much more than I thought. I know it’s been asked and answered before but I’m so at the end of my rope, I don’t think I can even summon the energy to do a search. I have been able to drink and no temp, BP a little high (probably from anxiety and pain). I just need some reassurance that this is normal.... anyone else have pain for days? PS I’ve taken OxyContin and it just takes the edge off. Thanks in advance

Thanks all. I’ve def been in touch w surgeons office... I guess I was just trying to get a gauge on others experiences. I think if I knew that others also had pain for several days, I would not feel so alone. -
Good morning all. I’m 2 days out from sleeve. Having quite a bit of pain and also feeling shaky. Discharged from hospital yesterday afternoon but had to go to ER last night for fluid and IV toradole. Today I will sip and walk but wanted to hear advice re which pain med to use if necessary? I have Tylenol and oxycodone. (Taking colase too to prevent constipation). Thanks in advance for your help!

Scared about endoscopy/colonoscopy
ohjuly7878 replied to ohjuly7878's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just letting everyone know; all went well. They used propofyl so definitely don't remember anything. Quite easy! Really appreciate all of the support I received here. Thanks! -

Looking for some reassurance about being scoped tomorrow. I'm mostly worried about the anesthesia: either not being enough, or causing complications! I have sleep apnea with a CPAP and worried that it will for me to be adequately ventilated, especially being heavy. But the rational part of me says that there must be others in the same situation who have gone through this safely! Would greatly appreciate any shared thoughts. Thank you! -
Lisa did you have an upper GI or endoscopy before your procedure, and it wasn’t there?

Thank you! You didn’t have to bring your CPAP to the procedure, right? Also I think I want the propofol, not the “twilight”.... so that’s what worries me more! -
Very impressive group of folks! I love this topic idea. I'm a physician; a radiologist. Banded, currently it's wide open (long story) and I'm considering getting the sleeve. Unsure of my decision, still.

I'm sure folks have already seen this; but it's worth re-posting A WOMAN'S WEEK AT THE GYM Dear Diary, For my birthday this year, I purchased a week of personal training at the local health club. Although I am still in great shape since being a high school football cheerleader 43 years ago, I decided it would be a good idea to go ahead and give it a try. I called the club and made my reservations with a personal trainer named Christo, who identified himself as a 26-year-old aerobics instructor and model for athletic clothing and swim wear. Friends seemed pleased with my enthusiasm to get started! The club encouraged me to keep a diary to chart my progress. ________________________________ MONDAY: Started my day at 6:00 a.m. Tough to get out of bed, but found it was well worth it when I arrived at the health club to find Christo waiting for me. He is something of a Greek god-- with blond hair, dancing eyes, and a dazzling white smile. Woo Hoo!! Christo gave me a tour and showed me the machines.. I enjoyed watching the skillful way in which he conducted his aerobics class after my workout today. Very inspiring! Christo was encouraging as I did my sit-ups, although my gut was already aching from holding it in the whole time he was around. This is going to be a FANTASTIC week!! ________________________________ TUESDAY: I drank a whole pot of coffee, but I finally made it out the door. Christo made me lie on my back and push a heavy Iron bar into the air then he put weights on it! My legs were a little wobbly on the treadmill, but I made the full mile. His rewarding smile made it all worthwhile. I feel GREAT! It's a whole new life for me. _______________________________ WEDNESDAY: The only way I can brush my teeth is by laying the toothbrush on the counter and moving my mouth back and forth over it. I believe I have a hernia in both pectorals. Driving was OK as long as I didn't try to steer or stop. I parked on top of a GEO in the club parking lot. Christo was impatient with me, insisting that my screams bothered other club members.. His voice is a little too perky for that early in the morning and when he scolds, he gets this nasally whine that is VERY annoying. My chest hurt when I got on the treadmill, so Christo put me on the stair monster. Why the hell would anyone invent a machine to simulate an activity rendered obsolete by elevators? Christo told me it would help me get in shape and enjoy life. He said some other **** too. _______________________________ THURSDAY: a*****e was waiting for me with his vampire-like teeth exposed as his thin, cruel lips were pulled back in a full snarl. I couldn't help being a half an hour late-- it took me that long to tie my shoes. He took me to work out with dumbbells. When he was not looking, I ran and hid in the restroom. He sent some skinny b***h to find me. Then, as punishment, he put me on the rowing machine-- which I sank. _________________________________ FRIDAY: I hate that bastard Christo more than any human being has ever hated any other human being in the history of the world. Stupid, skinny, anemic, anorexic, little aerobic instructor. If there was a part of my body I could move without unbearable pain, I would beat him with it. Christo wanted me to work on my triceps. I don't have any triceps! And if you don't want dents in the floor, don't hand me the damn barbells or anything that weighs more than a sandwich. The treadmill flung me off and I landed on a health and nutrition teacher. Why couldn't it have been someone softer, like the drama coach or the choir director? ________________________________ SATURDAY: Satan left a message on my answering machine in his grating, shrilly voice wondering why I did not show up today. Just hearing his voice made me want to smash the machine with my planner; however, I lacked the strength to even use the TV remote and ended up catching eleven straight hours of the Weather Channel.. ________________________________ SUNDAY: I'm having the Church van pick me up for services today so I can go and thank GOD that this week is over. I will also pray that next year my husband will choose a gift for me that is fun-- like a root canal or a hysterectomy.
