    May Surgery Buddies

Oh I so understand about the eating coping strategy as that’s my default too! Thank goodness I found that my hunger went down after both surgeries, but I know that I can’t count on that forever. I need to learn a better way at coping. i had the SADI (Single anastomosis duodeno–ileal bypass) surgery. Sorry for the change in font size, but I had to copy and paste it here because I can’t remember the full name. Lol from what I’ve been reading, the surgery is most like the duodenal switch except not as severe with the malabsorption. I’ll see - I just hope it can help me get rid of my excess weight. ☺️

The best thing for that is a warm heating pad and walking, so you can release the gas. It really helps!

    May Surgery Buddies

Hi, thanks so much asking! ☺️ I’m doing really well right now. I’m just weak if I do too much - I have to rest in between. Not much energy back yet. i had a revision from a sleeve to a SADI because I ended up gaining a 100lbs back of the 150lbs that I lost with my VSG. The 100 lb gain was due to depression meds and me getting on a food pity party for 3 years and not coming off of it! Lol oh, I so hope that you feel better soon! Did you get a VSG? I found the hardest thing there was adjusting to the amounts of fluid that I could take in. Also, the after effects of the surgery was hard to come back from. Hopefully, you’ll have a turn around soon and start feeling like yourself again! Big hugs! best wishes!

    May 2022 surgery?

Wasn’t the first bite of beans the best thing ever? My surgery was 5/2 and now I’m having dreams of the purée stage, which comes next week. Lol

    May 2022 surgery?

I hope you have the same experience that I had with him too! 💕 they transport you over to the hotel room in a wheelchair so you don’t have to walk that far. The nurses are right there at the hotel too so you don’t feel alone. I’m staying one extra day in Montreal - Dr Gagner said I was ok to this Thursday so back home I go tomorrow. ☺️ My friend is driving me back to NB.

I had dilaudid for my vsg and for this surgery too. I’m going home with Tylenol and OxyContin. I hope that they can find the right mix for you soon! Big hugs!

    May 2022 surgery?

Oh man, I hope that they can keep your under control soon. I know that when I was out early from my VSG, a lot of my nausea feelings were from too much stomach acid. I wonder if that’s something that could be adding to your nausea issues?

    May 2022 surgery?

Hi everyone, I had my SADI surgery on Monday. It went great. I had happy pills before surgery to help calm my nerves and the surgical team was wonderful! I woke up to no nausea or pain. Pain management was so well-handled that I still can’t believe it. My bladder was frozen a bit so it took time for it to wake up, but the good news is that I didn’t need a catheter. it’s been a great experience so far and the nurses have been wonderful!!

Oh excellent!! I’ll try and post after my surgery to tell you how it went! Thank you so much for the good wishes! Good luck with your surgery too!! if you’re getting your gastroscopy done by them, it’s a great experience. They sedate you so you don’t feel a thing!
