How long after gastric sleeve are you at risk of getting Dumping Syndrome ?
PM2022 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have been trying to find the answer to this and some help would be appreciated lol I am almost 6 weeks post op and I'm afraid to drink or try news things as I am afraid of getting this infamous "Dumping Syndrome" how long after having the gastric sleeve are you at risk of having this? When can I drink juice, coffee with creamer, etc without the fear of getting this ? (I don't care about the calories or lack of nutritional value in these foods, I am going to do what I am going to do lol ) -
Almost 8 weeks post op, when can I eat certain foods ?

Hi everyone, I have found this website helpful so I thought I would ask. I am almost 8 weeks post op and I usually just alternate between tuna or grilled chicken daily. I have tried ground beef and I would say my stomach handles it better than chicken. Chicken is pretty harsh sometimes. I eat alot of Poke too but I feel like I haven't really experimented with alot of food yet. Not even salad. I am going on vacation in a few weeks when I am almost 3 months post op and was wondering when it was ok to try sushi with rice or thin meat like Carne Asada or Barbacoa or Korean bbq? or corn and flour tortillas ? Also, alot of people say they can't tolerate a certain food. What exactly does that mean they vomit or it hurts ? Thanks for the help -

yes I agree with you !!! I am not going to try new things on vacation and everything is at a different pace. A few weeks ago I couldn't do mango or pineapple this week I can smoothly. Chicken is by far the worst -

OMG you are so lucky !! 😪 I am about 5 1/2 weeks and can't eat anything. I have been trying different foods chicken hurts, ground beef is ok, fruits hurt everything doesn't feel good. I basically just have yogurt and crackers plus I can only take tiny bites and then my stomach starts making these weird noises and it feels uncomfortable. I cant wait to have fast food lol or just eat like a normal person again -
Going on 3 weeks post op and can't drink or eat anything

I am in the 3rd week puree phase and from the binder I was provided I am supposed to be in this phase for two weeks, then move on to the soft food phase. Is this how everyone else's phases were ? Every time I drink water or protein shake my stomach makes noises and it's like my stomach flips, so I can only drink small amounts then my chest hurts like I drank too much or something. I am very behind on liquids. I am only drinking 1 bottle of water and 1 bottle of protein shake sometimes that's even hard. I sometimes squeeze in a broth or Jello. Yesterday a cottage cheese but it made me feel nauseous. Does anyone else experience these stomach flips or noises ?? I am very hungry and feel like I am never going to be able to eat again 😫 -

Yes I am taking a multivitamin and not the chewable's as they make me feel sick so I prefer a pill and I also am waking up very nauseous every morning or at night time. If I wake up in the middle of the night I am so nauseous. I also noticed I am not losing any weight and I am barely having anything. -
Hi there had my surgery on 4/25/2022 kind of regretting it. I wanted to ask the post OP people when were you able to realistically eat food without calculating how many cups and oz's ? Also when did you or were you able to have beer or coffee? I know they say no caffeine but that's definitely not going to happen. I just want to get a realistic stand point and when I try to research it I just see "I am not supposed to eat that".. duh I know but idc.
