Hello, 5 days PO from sleeve and I ate the broth from chili (no meat beans etc) just the liquid. I feel fine. I went out to eat with family and that’s all they had soup wise. Will I be okay? Thanks!!

Hello, sleeved 4 days ago. I have awful pain on the right large incision. They said this is where they pulled the stomach out. I can’t bend over to tie my shoes, put socks on, get up without pain etc. it literally feels like the insides of me are going to come apart. I called the dr and they said it’s normal. But I don’t see as many people complaining about it like I am. All the pain meds and heating pad is not helping me. I go back to work in 2 days and I’m so nervous. Also I have anxiety that I have a leak.. but everyone says that’s near impossible but I think the worst. Anyone out there having the same issues? Incisions are not black and blue or have puss or drainage coming out. Still have the surgical glue on. Thanks!!!

Hey everyone. I was sleeved 2 days ago (4/25/22) and I was a SDS so I went home Monday afternoon. They told me to take shots of 1oz every 15 minutes. Anyways I had to go back Tuesday for fluids and a check up. She wanted me to start protein shakes that day. Goal is 60-80 protein and 65oz of liquids. Shakes can count as liquid on my plan. Anyways is it normal I can drink 2 shakes a day & plus 2 waters and a 20oz Gatorade within one day only 2 days post op? I’m scared of leaking or something but when I do drink I take it slow and sip for the most part but I still get burps after. Is this normal?

Thanks everyone! & yes they did a leak test in the hospital. But I just stress and think the worst.

I am having a lot of pain in the shoulders & chest & collarbone. I have to lay on my back with a pillow under my butt and that seems to stop the pain going to my shoulders. They told me to not take my vitamins until the 2 week mark. Good luck too!!

It’s crazy every dr is different. And I have OCD so I want to be a perfectionist and I’m scared I got the 64 oz of fluids and 60-80 protein goal stuck in my head and if I don’t complete it I’m a failure. But I also don’t want a leak or to stretch my pouch out.

sleeved 4/25. Awful pins in shoulders neck collar bones chest too. I honestly thought maybe I got dropped but nope all that gas I guess. Lol I have been taking gas x chewable, heating pad, and walking to help. It comes and go but the first night was unbearable. Also I noticed sleeping with a pillow under my butt helped not get those pains at night.

I feel like I can drink more than a average patient. I am 2 days post op (4/25/22) and can get almost my full 64 oz and 60-80 grams of protein in. I do get burps after drinking but I get it regardless if I sip those 1 oz cups into 4s or just half it. Hope that makes sense. I am dealing with really bad pain on the right side of my stomach incision but I believe that’s where the DR pulled the stomach out.
