teebutterfly: I can relate as well. I had my surgery in August 08 and have lost around 50 pounds. However, I lost 1/2 of that with the pre-surgery diet. I would have thought by now that I would have lost around 75 to 100 pounds. For the past 3 months or so, I have been stuck at the same weight. Everyone is right, the surgery put a tool in place and it is up to you to use it. On the weekends, I still overeat and revert back to old habits. I am a firm believer that you have to find inner motivation to want to lose weight. I have lost 50 pounds, and I haven't been at this weight in a long long long time. I'm having trouble finding that motivation to get me going again. Your not alone!

Hello everyone....I was banded on the 26th in Houston. The surgery went well. The only thing is that the doctor had to put on a bigger band because I have a natural larger stomach than most people. Has anyone else had the same problem? I am on my second bottle of pain medicine. I can tell when I need to take some more. The third day I vomited twice, but nothing came up. That was painful. I have that sick to the stomach feeling often but it comes and goes and I try not to think about it. If I think about it, I will try to vomit. My doctor had me on a pre op diet for 3 weeks. Since then, I have lost almost 29 pounds. I have sharp pains that come and go. I am assuming those are the gas pains that everyone talks about. I'm not sure though since I've never been operated on. I too am having trouble getting all my Water and Protein shakes in. I have that constant "stuffed" feeling like you ate way too much at the chinese buffet. Yesterday I had a creamscicle and didn't have any problems.

Hello there! I just had my surgery this past Tuesday. I know it seems like it takes forever to go through the process of getting insurance approval. Just don't think about it. Time will go by faster than you think. Just enjoy every meal and get into the right mind set that a lifestyle is about to change. I grew up near Brownsboro and I use to know Gilmer quite well. My ex was from Gladewater. I am about 175 pounds overweight according to the medical charts. However, I have a big frame. The main reason for getting the surgery is to be healthier and be around longer for my family and the other reason is oh how much I miss going to six flags! We are making plans to go up there in Dec. for Holiday in the Park, if it isn't too cold. Let me know if I can answer anything. My email is chriswallison@msn.com

My doctor told me that it would ok to drink some juice that has calories such as minute maid fruit punch. He said I will have to get calories from somewhere. I had my surgery this past Tuesday and I feel pretty good right now. Just have these sharp pains that come and go every so often. I too am not hungry and I am not getting all my water in. Just been sucking down those sugar free popsicles.
