  1. Oh yeah, one of my first stuck episodes was French bread to dip in some VOO with spices and 3 bites in the slime came bubbling up.

    Help Us Help You

Very eloquently put. My personal redneck version would have got me thrown off the site. It would be beneficial if the folks who join the site via app could read your post before creating a topic or post. I have the Kindle app and it's rather hard to navigate so I'm sure for those who aren't familiar with the site via PC find that the site is rather restricted.

    Well todays the day!

Very, Very Impressive. You look "Mahvelous"!! http://youtu.be/5gbDgptNlvA
  4. Something like this could raise your blood pressure and they could cancel your surgery if it's too high? Take care of it or at the very least, contact your surgeons and let them know?
  5. Oh, heck yes, all questions are welcome here except, "how much weight have you lost" jk

Proper Calorie Intake while VERY Active

Wise choice Mommy. I'm real curious how you do the next 30 days with an unfilled band. Keep us posted please?

    OPs who never respond

If you start a thread/topic and complain, remark or ask a question, please try to come back and respond to the forum members who took their time to answer or respond to your post? It's just rude and inconsiderate to post a question and then never acknowledge the responses.

    OPs who never respond

"Why would I be offended?" Since you placed a ? behind the sentence I assume you expected a reply. First, isn't it swell I responded to your question? Of course, we can't read all responses and respond to every little ? mark but when someone starts a topic with "HELP!!!!!!, PLEASE HELP ME!!!???" but then they disappear never to acknowledge the several posts from people who took the time to post a short or in many cases, long reply offering advice and recommendations, I think it's only considerate the OP acknowledged that time spent. But that's just me! And, I don't waste a lot of energy over my disappointment that my 1-5 minute response goes unread, but I wanted to rant a little bit over just a few bad apples. jmo

Proper Calorie Intake while VERY Active

You were already a little too tight? How is putting more saline in the band going to make things better? Sorry to be a wet blanket but his other comments regarding France is disturbing and not knowing how many calories you should consume? There are some doctors who do not understand the band. Their patients suffer the consequences of their ignorance. I hope this guy can help you?

    1/2 Marathon

Egad, 13 miles? Good luck with that. I made it 10 miles one time and that was about my limit and I only weighed 150 lbs at the time. I envy you folks who still have cartilage in your knees

  12. Sorry to be contrite, but, you're preaching to the choir here. 99.9% of the thousands of forum members here love food too. But, 95% +/- love our new skinny/overweight(not obese) bodies. Like Pink Dahlia said: "I'm so stinkin' thrilled with my weight loss i dont even care about what i cant eat!" tmf

    OCCASIONAL SPITTING UP

It's like you said, it's a side effect of the surgery and happens to most of us if we break the rules or our stoma is smaller for some reason. It comes with the territory. Sounds like you may have a little dilation of your esophagus? This can come as a result of eating beyond the point our pouch is full and food backs up into the esophagus. This is when we slime and PB. Too often and we can experience a dilation of the pouch and/or esophagus. If you're looking at another surgery, consider the sleeve too. But as long as the band is working, why change? But definitely keep an eye on that esophagus problem?

Almost to 3 weeks post op!

Justwatch, me too quite often. I guess it depends on how yummy the food is huh? The yummier it is, the longer we keep eating

Almost to 3 weeks post op!

Almost all of us experience extreme hunger post surgery and it continues till you get enough fills to find restriction/satiety.

    Left Shoulder Pain after eating

This sound like a question for your surgeon? I've not seen a similar question in the last 3 years except for patients just out of surgery? At first I thought it might be the vagus nerve beig overstimulated but probably not?

    Lap Band Erosion :(

Are you going to seek the sleeve once you heal?

    How do you drink?

I've always been able to gulp but I make an effort to take it slow. Sometimes it does feel good to chug 12 ozs of cold water though.

    Wine

Booze affects me much more now than before. I get nauseated and high much quicker than before. If the pain is still there on Monday call your doc.
  20. Never mind! Wrong video.

    post op

You can drink juices but they're full of natural sugar so you need to watch how many calories you're taking in? Even if it's a natural sugar like fructose, it can spike your insulin levels and end up leaving you hungrier than before. Of course, adding in other veggie juices can be good, just try to keep the simple carb levels low?

    hungry

It's called Bandster Hell and can go on till you get enough fills to feel satiated for 3-4 hours. Took me 3 fills and 4 months before I left BH.

    Dr Oz Video

The program yesterday had a long segment on the lapband and included Fielding but it's not available on Oz's site yet. I downloaded something from youtube from yesterday but it wasn't the same as the program from the 2nd even though it was downloaded on the 2nd. Confusing I know.? I'll post yesterday's episode if it ever appears on his site.

    Stomach pain

Alka Seltzer is usually not prescribed for banders. It's an Nsaid and it's carbonated. But if it makes you feel better who am I to say? Dry heaving is the same as vomiting and can also cause a slip due to the lower stomach convulsing. I'm surprised they want to wait till Monday?

    Dr. Oz

Sorry, youtube had a completely different video than one I posted here. Watching the program I recorded earlier today now.
