    Day 3 Post-op

I get lazy and sleepy 2.5 years out so yes, it's normal. Congrats!
  2. You should be happy. You look great. And fit too!!
  3. The list of culprits causing stomach cramps is long, very long. I've never got cramps from drinking Water or running so I'm no help? Being dehydrated could cause cramps as you mentioned? You're so newly banded it could be gas or constipation.

    weight gain after removal

I'm surprised there are no replies? I don't see a lot of people having their band removed but it's around 2-4 a month and they come here looking for advice just like yours? You might wander over to the sleeve forum. Look for the band to sleeve forum? I pulled up a search for your topic. Look for the search bar, enter the term: band removed and make sure it's searching in the forum section.

    Advice needed

"I explained I am not eating very well" What does this mean? Can you detail a typical daily meal plan from Breakfast-Dinner and any Snacks? Do you track calories or foods you eat and have you sat down and consulted with a dietician(preferably a bariatric nutritionist)?

Foods that make you barf! Literally.

Hmm? Sorry for the ignorant question but, do you bypass folks vomit from that little pouch and does your stomach that has been detached react and also convulse? Seems like that little pouch wouldn't have much to spew out?
  7. Sure has. Water and any kind of fluid consumption can add weight. It's not fat weight, just weight. Scales don't discriminate between water retention and fat loss.

    Hungry

Many if not most new banders need more than 1 or 2 fills to feel some kind of satiety. I lost 12 lbs the first 2 weeks post surgery and then nothing for the next 3.5 months and 2 fills. What you're experiencing is what we call Bandster Hell. Seems like you're hungrier than even before surgery and you can still eat large bites and large servings. It will all pass once you get your band adjusted properly. I got my 3rd fill about 4 months after surgery and for once I started to feel like I could eat less for longer periods of time. It took 3 more fills to finally get to the green zone. I believe my journey is typical for many banders. I tried very hard to eat healthy those first 4 months and even now. One more thing, I had a consult with my nutritionist at my 4 month dr visit and she steered me to foods that helped with satiety and also helped me eliminate about 300 unnecessary calories. Hang in there and keep going in for those adjustments.

    MALE HUMOR OF THE DAY

My son-in-law has a good job with the public utilities dept and has lots of time to hunt, fish and chase bears with his dogs. He went in to Cabella's looking for a part time job and his first question was, "How much discount do employees get"? He didn't get the job.

    MALE HUMOR OF THE DAY

My daughter has lived with her redneck husband, 2 sons and a nephew for the last 8 years. She had to move her gal cave out to the RV trailer so she could get away from all the potty humor, cup o cheese fart jokes and Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mummie, Mother(you get it?)

    Site a little confusing?

I would not like to see these forums become so specific that banders shun advice from sleevers, RNY or DS members or block them altogher? I know I sometimes wander over to other boards and make comments. Of course, I can't offer competent advice specifically relating to their surgical needs, but I can chime in with an atta girl or talk to your doctor advice. It's not that difficult to see who is offering advice. Advice from someone 5 days out of any kind of surgery isn't any more valuable than a veteran bander offering dietary advice to a RNY patient.jmo I like it just like it is. Thank you.
  13. As long as I eat small bites slowly, there is no feeling. food just passes through the stoma into your stomach. Slider foods offer very little in the way of satiety if your band is adjusted properly. And, most slider foods are higher in fat and processed food products. Not to mention less healthy. Getting stuck is no fun but it's not all that bad. I've been stuck hundreds of times and it's no big deal. I just wait a few minutes for the food to pass and I slow down or eat much smaller.
  14. Good for you but, Do you have some kind of program that capitalizes every word? Makes your post hard to follow?
  15. Be careful what you ask for A good BM could equal a 1 lb loss Welcome and keep checking in.

I have no problem with it. I see who's posting and note what kind of surgery they had and adjust accordingly.

Restarting fills after lapse in time.

I would imagine you'll have to endure a Q&A from the doctor to evaluate where you are in your journey. Just be honest and trust he/she knows what to do? Since it's been so long a fill under fluoroscopy would be your best choice if you have one? jmo

    Banded Today!

Re: Pain meds....Many pain meds can cause your digestive system to slow down or shut down causing some serious constipation issues. FYI I can't handle them so I went without. Fortunately I had little pain.

    Banded Today!

Welcome to the boards and the other side. Drink lots of Water and don't be a hero. Make everyone wait on you. You deserve it right?
  20. I had very little pain and went back to work the next day part time. But, the trauma of all the anesthesia, saline, anti-biotics stayed with me for at least a week. I don't do well with anesthesia and I felt awful for nearly 2 weeks. No pain, just icky.

    clean eating "milkshake"

OK, I'm back with results. My first shake was pathetic. But the 2nd and 3rd were like Wendy flurry's or whatever they call them. Just like ice cream. So good but definitely need to keep these as a bonus or limited treat otherwise they could become an obsession. Still have to try the Peanut Butter version. Next time.

    You are sick!
  23. I doubt we're related, just having fun with same last names and being from the South. She had mentioned her family may be related to Jack Daniels? I looked up Jack Daniel's history and he had an uncle with the same last name we have/had. My Mom remarried so I dropped Waggoner when I was in High School.
