Nope! A Charlie horse is basically a cramp. I think sometimes they use a mesh to keep that port stable and some of the tissue near it adheres and can cause some pain as it is stretched or torn away. Just a guess of course?

What do you miss most after Weight Loss Surgery?
2muchfun replied to Menelly's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I've always been able to gulp cold Water. Still can. I have to amend my very first post in the thread. We have season tickets to the Colorado Rockies and went to the game today. I miss foot long hot dogs smothered in mustard and peppers -

Depends on how much of a Klutz you are I would imagine a short 20-30 mild bike ride would be fine on some paved trail? Make sure everyone before you knows you're coming so no wrecks?

Phony sugars of any kind are fine with me. I avg maybe one packet a day. Mostly in coffee and Latte.

I'd kill for a '62 Grand Prix 389 3 deuces!!

Watch this video, maybe it will explain it so you can understand it? Just be aware that 1 lb of fat is physically larger than 1 lb of muscle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBJziqgrQgk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ozt-V0PPJawThanks for is, I do understand the difference between muscle weigh and fat weight, its seems quite an assumption that people are exercising to the extent that this is an answer, my point is more personally specific perhaps. As someone who is doing the same amount of exercise as they did pre-op - I cycle to work and back a round trip of 12 miles - and currently in a stall without loss of inches it isn't really the/an answer. If you've followed the thread/topic the OP and many others are new to WLS and I believe the comments are mostly directed towards this group. Most WLS patients are fairly new to an exercise routine so they could be adding muscle and still losing fat. The rule may not apply to someone like you? I see you're about one month out and you've lost 19 lbs? For many of us, it's not really a stall until it's at least a month. Going a week or two with no weight loss happens to many of us.

Pink Dahlia is right. Make an appointment with your doctor and your nutritionist to see what you're lacking in your diet to cause the loss of hair? Let me add(edit) that if you're 5' tall, I wouldn't sweat 5 lbs. You may be at your goal weight but I wouldn't be concerned about more weight loss unless you get down to under 120? But still check with your doctor!

Well, it could be but just having the band placed around your stomach won't eliminate hunger. Most patients experience considerable swelling so the hunger doesn't come back for a few weeks. If you're hungry, keep up with your fluids. No other way to make it through this phase. Good luck and drink up.

My results and several others are different from Cincha's. I just had a fill a week ago and it took about 4 days before I really felt the effect. I've read where many others have taken 2 weeks before they felt any new restriction. And you won't feel anything till you go back to solids. Being hungry on liquids is expectable and no matter how tight your band is, if you aren't eating solid food, you're going to get hungry.

Minnesota Blue Cross Blue Sheild Approval Journey Questions
2muchfun replied to indianpiranha's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was supposed to have the same and we tried to use my past doctor visits(and we always discussed my weight) as collateral for the 6 month visits but no go. Doesn't mean you can't try to use any of your past visits to shorten the time span but it didn't work for me? Then, with about 2 months left on my doctor supervised diet plan, BCBS said never mind, we don't do that any longer. So, I got clearance for my surgery 2 months early. Your PCP may be able to write an appeal letter with some strong evidence that the two of you have worked on this problem for months or years and this may persuade someone at BCBS? Worth a try? -
Wasn't it a rush to see those numbers that did not start with a stinking 2?

3rd week... IM STARVING
2muchfun replied to tiki luv banded's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Jim is one of the forum members/contributors here and he pointed out some of my posts from back in early 2012 where I was complaining about hunger and how I wanted this rocket to launch and I wanted it now! This is where you are. You probably believed you'd be banded and the journey begins? Well, this is part of your journey and it's the sucky part. What I did at this stage(besides bitching and moaning) was to eat healthy foods. My band did help me start to eat less. I noticed right away that once I moved to solid food I could no longer eat that 16 oz chunk of salmon or polish off that 4th chicken enchilada. Once I realized and accepted the fact that I wouldn't find satiety till I got one or more fills, I decided I wasn't going to diet. I'd already done that. But, to keep from being hungry, I was going to eat good, nutritious and healthy foods till I was satisfied. I didn't lose or gain any weight from my 2nd week post op till my 3rd fill. Then I started losing fat. This was my journey, yours will be up to you? -

I too was a lover of food but it's become secondary now. Your post reminded me of the Holiday feasts of past years and time spent with friends and loved ones. Many of those friends have moved away and the demands of my current family have lead me away from those times and that's actually a good thing. So, what ya gonna do for exercise big guy, soon to be not so big guy? -

Did you also post on the sleeve forum? You're on the Lap-Band forum here? -
Gonna need more info than what you've provided? Are you on some kind of post fill liquid diet? Were you feeling any satiety/restriction before this fill? Weight at surgery and weight now? The short uninformed answer to your question would be that fills don't always "take affect". I know my 2nd fill did very little. I think I got stuck a few times after my 2nd fill which forced me to pay closer attention to how fast I ate and how much I chewed. But I was till in Bandster Hell till my 3rd fill. Some folks went up to 10 fills before they felt satiety. Do you know how many CCs were put in? Did they do this under fluoroscopy(X-ray)?

I've thought about uploading a video too but haven't made any effort to figure out how it's done? Maybe over the weekend?
