  1. You should go in and have a consult with your doctor. In my opinion, you are either too tight or you don't follow the rules when eating? Do you slime when eating biscuits or Cereal? All of the foods you are eating are on most of our lists of foods to avoid. They're slider foods. That means they slide through the band without much difficulty(if you're following the rules). There's virtually no Protein in your diet and protein should include about 50-70% of your diet now. Did you watch the series of videos I posted earlier? If you want to be able to tell the difference between hunger and head hunger, try not eating Breakfast and lunch one day. That will educate you what true hunger is? Drink your breakfast and lunch(shakes) and your tummy will let you know.
  2. Keep in touch. The first 6 months can be very frustrating, especially before you get enough fills to not be hungry all the time. I was fit to be tied the first 4 months. Only lost 12 lbs the first 2 weeks and then nothing for the next 3.5 months. There's a lot they don't tell you before surgery. But it's all good now. I'm so happy I did this.
  3. Your surgeon issue is rather unique so I wouldn't expect many responses. Unfortunately, there are a few bad apple surgeons who don't understand that aftercare is as important as the surgery.
  4. If you can find the time to fill out your profile on a PC? It's difficult to advise when we know so little about you? 25 lbs is not slow and not fast either. Much depends on your BMI when you had surgery? I only lost 12 lbs the first 4 months. Have you had any fills and are you feeling satiety or lots of hunger?
  5. There are several of us here most days. Just post and we usually see your topic or just message me or one of the other guys.
  6. Started soups like egg drop, tomato, French onion and squash on day 4.
  7. Learning how to eat like a Bandster. Small bites. Eating slowly. Chewing food to mush. Properly adjusted band. Updating fills when the band becomes too loose. Recognizing when I've eaten enough. Recognizing the soft stops. Changing up my workout routine. Changing my eating habits.
  8. Over 2 1/2 years out from Lap-Band surgery and my wife has dropped 19 lbs to 134 on 5' 3" frame. Both of us are enjoying a much better healthy eating lifestyle.

    Intense hiccups

My hiccups only occur near the end of my meal and it's usually only one or two times and it's over. Sounds like you have a very sensitive valgus nerve?

Back to School: #2: Your Report Card

I want to give myself a B+ but I know I don't deserve it. Too many tastes and nibbles here and there are impeding my weight loss. So, I give myself a B today.

    Pressure when stomach growls.

That's unusual. Sounds like a question for your doctor?

    Plateau

My scale stood still for 3 months till I started my 4:3 diet plan. If you have time look at this video. I modified the plan to fit my own personal lifestyle. I intermittent fast on Mon, Wed, Fri. I've dropped 16 lbs in the last 2.5 months and it's easy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzkVmXe9NMU
  14. What are you eating? What does a typical daily meal plan look like? Do you snack? Are you feeling hunger between meals?
  15. A consult with the Dr's nutritionist is always a good start. Bariatric nuts can advise you much better than we can since they have one on one time with you. In the meantime, watch these videos. The only caveat I would add to these videos is that some doctors do not want you drinking with your meals. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qa3Lwt6ElIs&list=UL Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4jYJipQ7vc part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wbdhf44ZweI&feature=relmfu Part 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KF3TCKUn3YI Part 4

    6 fills later...

Who knows but monitor your restriction so you don't get too tight. This clinic sounds like they're a little disconnected to me? One of the ways my doctor measured Fluid in my band is when the band had a lot of fluid in it, he could feel that it took more pressure to squeeze the syringe. In his words, he could feel the stomach lining pushing back against the balloon in my band. He even showed me. When he would push down on the syringe and saline entered my band, some fluid would come back and push the syringe handle back up. Of course, over the next month my stomach adjusted to the fill and he was able to put another .5 CC in to take me to the green zone. Sorry, this probably doesn't help much but there are ways other than an X-Ray to know if the band balloon is pushing on your stomach.

    Question

We can't see what you're allowed to eat, but most docs and nutritionists ask us to eat non-processed foods. During the post-op phase this could be difficult all the time but once you're allowed to eat solid food, fresh meats, seafood, veggies and minimal fruit should be how we eat. Shoulda eaten this way before surgery but we didn't have the tool to help us feel satisfied with so much less food.

    Back Pain

Have you tried a liquid diet for a day to see if the back pains decrease or go away? Maybe go a day with shakes, soups or slider foods to see if the restriction is the issue?

    Plateau

But you've done so well!!! Anniversary just two days away? Try changing up your diet with something different. Look at the 5:2 diet? I like the 4:3 version to lose weight faster but it's not something you have to do forever, just to get over a plateau.
  20. Sorry, but I'm just not understanding your issue? It sounds like you're not chewing food enough and taking big bites and/or eating too fast? Sliming(excess saliva) is a result of food backing up into your esophagus. This happens when food gets stuck in your stoma. Food sticks when you eat too big, chew too small and/or eat too fast.
  21. I'm not understanding what you mean by being sick? Please explain? "It's an intense burning sensation in my chest and until I'm sick"
  22. One more ? What do you mean "until you are sick"? Are you throwing up?
  23. Can you describe what your sickness feels like?

    Random restriction...temperamental band!

Not all day. Maybe just for breakfast once in a great while.
