    Starting Soft Food Tomorrow!!

I start soft diet tomorrow too. I'm going to make an egg salad and a tuna salad made with low fat, low carb ingredients of course. Since I'm in this phase where I haven't had a fill, it seems like I can still eat more than I thought I could. I keep waiting for that overly full feeling and really haven't seen or felt it but twice and then it wasn't all that bad. I feel starved most of the time. Met with some other bandsters last night and they call it "Bandster hell". I agree. I'm hungry most of the time. Still, Protein shakes, cream Soups and yogurt seem to satiate me somewhat. But sometimes I'd kill for a Hot Pastrami sandwich ;op
  2. Apology accepted. I'll call "Guido" and cancel the contract. You're safe till our next meeting D
  3. Nora, When you click on edit my profile you next need to check the “Browse” button. You then need to go to find your pictures folder on your computer and choose a picture you like. Sometimes it’s best to go to your picture folder and look for the one picture you want and write down the name or number of that picture. It depends on how you view your pictures after you click “Browse”. Double click the picture you like and then upload. Don’t click the import URL. That’s only if you want to select a picture from the web. For instance, you could find a URL for Cameron Diaz and use that as your image. But you want to use an image from your computer so you must “Browse” images on your computer. Dan
  4. So good to meet Nora and Julie. Thanks for answering all my questions and I'm sorry if I asked too many? I did forget one though. I have this recurring pain in my left clavicle? I've read on other forums of others having this pain? Why?
  5. I don't know any of you so how do I find you?
  6. Post op day 2. Incisions are really red and oozing. Very tender to the touch. I've thought about this for years now and this is not what I thought it would be? Hard to tell if I'm full, bloated, hungry or sick? I feel like crap all the time. Not enough food or is there something wrong? Not a fun time right now. I ventured out to a Vitamin Shoppe for some protein and could hardly speak to the clerk. Sorry to ramble but my body aches all over and I can't take any ibuprofen. I have vicodin but that stuff shuts down all my sphincters and makes it impossible to eat. D
  7. I've been having a lot of dreams this last week. One was this recurring dread of being in an airport with tickets in hand to go somewhere. I was dodging other people and many roadblocks. Must have been the obstacle course prior to surgery? Then last night I dreamt I was on the op table and they decided to you use a midget's lapband and it was called "The Laptastic"?? Anyway, got banded today. Still a sore but not too bad. I have to use this oxygen tank/generator for a few days and I really hate it. 7 hours later I was still hallucinating and would start and stop in mid sentece. sleeping on the couch tonight. Thanks for the support!

  11. OK. I doubt there will be much I can consume?
  12. Where do you meet? I may be able to make the 19th?
  13. Hello, nearly new here. Originally wanted Dr. K to do my surgery but never quite saved up the cash to move forward. Got a call today from Chae's office that insurance approved my lap-band request. Surgery set for November 28th. I really didn't expect this kind of mental reaction on my part. Suddenly I'm scared crapless. It's taken 2+ years to get here and now that I can see this is really going to happen, the fear of failure or the fear that I can't live without stuffing my fat face anymore is a reality. Anyone else have this kind of reaction? Dan

Sensa - 'Sprinkle Diet' on the News

P-head, I couldn't disagree with you more. Ever since I was a teenager I've been prone to being chubby. I've pushed the 35+ BMI on many occasions but through "FAD" diets I was able to keep my weight down to a respectable 25-29 for most of my adult life. Now that I'm over 50 it's not as easy. The joints don't work as well as they once did, the muscles don't react as well or as strongly, so it's very difficult to exercise and diet away those lbs like I did when I was 35. I've been a voyeur on this site for over a year now and never really had anything to add. Just wanted more info on lap-band surgery and I found it. I ran across the Sensa ad and performed a search on this site to see if anyone had any personal information. Obviously I found a lot of naysayers who knew nothing about the product but spent their time attacking what they did not know or understand. Your post doesn't illuminate the discourse it only deflects. Thanks for your response but I think I'll continue to research before I have to go under the knife. And G4E, thank you for your reasoned response. 2MF

Sensa - 'Sprinkle Diet' on the News

My My what a group of sanctimonius fatties. Izabella is right. If it works for someone who only needs to drop 20-30 lbs why belittle them? Obviously people who are 40+ bmi may have psychological, emotional or heredity issues and may not find Sensa to be a cure-all, but some people just eat a little too much and something like Sensa might just make the difference. And where do you folks get off on this natural crap? Going under anesthesia, swabbing your body with antibiotics and poking a hole in your abdomen then inserting a metal/polyurethane scope into your chest cavity and wrapping a plastic belt around your stomach is natural? I've struggled all my life to keep my BMI under 30 and would have jumped at this product in a hot New York second when I was younger. Now that my BMI is over 36 I'm still going to give it a try as a last effort to avoid surgery. Wish me luck or call me an idiot. Take your pick? 2MF
