Had gastric bypass 10/3. Down 77 pounds total. 19 of that was before surgery. Anyway, I am barely getting in 600 calories a day at this point and can only handle about an ounce and a half of protein with a couple bites of veggies at meals. I have a very clear full signal and don’t eat past it. I haven’t had sugar or carbs since surgery and I intend to stick with that. I cannot tolerate cheese, nuts, butter, basically anything but lean proteins and some vegetables. I even struggle with fruit. I don’t have a dietician so I have no idea if I am on track or not with my eating so I just take each day as it comes. I am happy with my weight loss. As most everyone I wish it was faster. But I have only stalled once and that was at the 3 week mark. I am exercising some but with the low amount of calories I am eating it is hard to have a lot of stamina. If anyone has any pointers let me know. I also still rely on 1-2 protein shakes a day to get protein up to around 80 grams.

I am an absolute mess right now! 4 more days and we will join the losers bench!

4 more days and I am starting to freak out! Just the normal stuff: why am I doing this? Maybe I should try one more time on my own…. I have never been so apprehensive about a surgery before. But I am prepared and I know it will be fine. The discomfort is short lived. This liquid diet is not helping my mood either 😂

9 days to Gastric Bypass!! Pre-op liquid diet starts Monday

Still pre-op but I am really worried about smelly gas and BM’s. I’ve heard it is a real problem. Maybe it is just my vanity but I don’t want to gross myself and everyone else out. Pretty sure I’d rather be fat. What is everyone’s experience with this and what are you doing, if anything, that helps

Smoking cigarettes and surgery
MANDY2910 replied to Kamyar's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My program tested my blood for nicotine. If I would have had a positive test then I would have to be 3 months nicotine free before I could even be seen by the doctor again. It is not an easy habit to break but get help early on in the process to help you. -

When/How to buy new clothes
MANDY2910 replied to lizonaplane's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
There are a few Bariatric Weightloss forums on Facebook that have “stores” for gently used clothes in all sizes. One of them is Bariatric Family. Might not hurt to see if there is one in your area. I have done it a couple of times. The clothes are always super nice -
Can you ever drink soda again after surgery
MANDY2910 replied to Happy Stylist's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgeon is an absolute no on carbonation. I am a HUGE diet soda drinker. I am just starting the process but I have had to give it up. Funny thing is, I don’t miss it anymore. And I find I am not as bloated feeling and sleep better. So it’s worth it for me to stop and never start again. -
Thank you Kathleen! I have my first appt 6/1 and this is the procedure I am most interested in.

What is the BMI requirement for duodenal switch? My BMI is 44, but I have seen in the internet where it has to be 50 or more?
