Friends, parents, inlaws, brother, and boss. I would tell the people I work with, but I teach and the small town I work in would find out in 5 minutes and I don't want a town of people watching me to see if I lose weight. so I'm up in the air about this one.

Congratulations! How about your bra? Did it bug you afterwards, you know to go home in? Also: Why do people say to take Gas-X? Isn't that for your stomach? and this is in a completely different area? -

Oh Sunshine, you have no idea how awesome that was for me. I've been so out of sorts worried and not feeling the hope I should have. After reading her, I feel calmer and more ready for the fight. Thank you so much for sharing that today! -

illinoishusker replied to illinoishusker's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you Sunshine! My worries lie in my last tries. I blame me, I've never worked at it hard enough. It was a struggle and time and time again I lied to myself and gave in to food. I want to know how to dig deep and make it work. I want it bad, but since I've given up so many times, ugh. i guess I want a sure thing, and nothing like that exists. I just hate that I lie to myself. -

Mine was covered under BCBS IL, but it depends on what the employer will cover.

I'll start. Hi, I'm Lori and I just turned 40. I have PCOS and have been overweight and then obese since I was 21ish. LIke all of you, I've tried most diets and as of late I started accepting failure. I think during my kid baking time I kind of let loose and allowed myself to give up. Well the kids are 5 and 3 (I'm a mature mom..lol) and I want to be more physical with them and have fun. I'd love to be thinner, but skinny is not my goal. I have a wonderful husband who is a fantastic father. He supports me, but I'm not sure he really gets all of it. I assume he will soon enough. I'm a teacher (5th grade), I love to read, music. I hate to exercise, but I know I have to. I just need to get over the hump. I'm embarrassed of my size, but confident in most of my life. I am very outgoing and outspoken. I have to try to monitor myself IRL. I'm very passionate about things and I love to laugh. I'm scared of failing again and I worry that I'll disappoint myself. I'm trying to get myself pumped up. I'm also afraid I'll be a raging bitch after surgery mourning foods. lol how about yoU? -

Ok, I'm going to do a shout out for the October bandsters in another thread. Let's tell a little summary of ourselves. You don't have to divulge too personal of info, just some interesting things about you. So that we can feel like we know eachother better. We are going to have to lean on eachother soon, b/c no one else will get it like we GET it. So Look for my thread about getting to know the smashing pumpkins! -
Congrats! Welcome to the smashing pumpkins!! I'm Oct. 24th!

3rd week on full liquids and getting hungry
illinoishusker replied to weightisover's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
O/T how long can you keep egg drop soup in your fridge? -
Ya, open mouth insert foot. lol I agree with above poster, she would not even be qualified. I'm sure she was not thrilled with the comment when she is struggling and has had 3 children. My husband is a big boy and he didn't even have children to help with his excuse, yet I'd never suggest he have it too. She has her journey, you have yours.

9 days post op and bored!!! :(
illinoishusker replied to Mariposa's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Since I haven't had the band yet, I guess I wonder how filling you feel eating such tiny amounts of blended foods and etc. Like 2 oz of chicken salad and 2 oz of blended green beans. How full do you feel without restriction 3 weeks post op. I mean it sounds like you would feel mucho hunger. Am I wrong? -
Drinking In Morning OUCH!!!!!
illinoishusker replied to speck's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok so if no liquids are going through, no food is going too, correct? This is a worry of mine b/c I teach and I worry about the food part. If you can't drink anything, are you feeling like you are starving? -
protein drink..is this one ok?
illinoishusker posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all, I havens 't had a chance to talk to my nutritionist, but am wondering if this shake is going to work. I've used it before and it works and tastes really good in my opinion. It's called New lifestyle Diet. www.newlifestylediet.com Women's ProgramWomen's Program Totals: (these totals are with a lean meat /veggie dinner..not liquid.) Calories1080 Protein164 Carbs72 Fat 18 . Does it have enough Protein and good carbs?? Ideas? I'll check with my dr. but I wanted the people opinions here. -
