Anyone with PCOS not lose weight after surgery
Acptfw replied to Ruth9454's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have PCOS and I had my sleeve surgery on the same day as you. I also think I hit a stall, but everyone says you start to lose weight again after a couple of weeks. I’ve also been struggling with water intake but it’s slowly getting better. Glad I’m not alone, and I hope everything is going ok with you. -

April 2022 Surgery Buddies
Acptfw replied to Crinkles's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’m so glad you’re improving a little every day!! It sounds just about the same as what I’ve been feeling too. I had a little bit of depression the first 2 weeks, but has gotten better the last week or so. 😊 -

I came to this thread late, but my sleeve was on the 4th too! How have you been doing since then? -

I felt the same regret the first 2 weeks after surgery. It was really intense and felt like I didn’t care about losing weight anymore. I didn’t even look at the scale, but I could still see my body changing. It is a lot like postpartum in a way, and I am grateful to have a lot of support at home. Everything is looking a lot better now that I’m doing at least puréed foods, but I still struggle a lot. The past couple have days have been great compared to those 2 really dark weeks. My care team told me that I will probably experience the stages of grief, and eventually it will get a lot better.

VSG surgery in hopes to cure PCOS and have children!

I got the surgery because of PCOS and I definitely want to follow this thread. I hope this works out for everyone here! 💚 -
One-week post-op, eating & diarrhea
Acptfw replied to Puchu's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I’m 3 weeks post-op and I had diarrhea for about 1 week. Now is mostly constipation, but I’m taking Miralax to help. Also my body just didn’t tolerate any protein shake whatsoever. I had a really hard time the first week, but warm fluids definitely helped. Once I could drink some milk or kefir or something else with protein in it I started to feel a little more human again. -

What surgeon at West LA Kaiser do you recommend?
Acptfw replied to justmeana's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had Dr. Mun at the South Bay Kaiser location. I know some doctors outside of Kaiser don’t require weight loss, but I’m pretty sure all doctors within Kaiser require it. They want to make sure you’re serious, and they want your liver to shrink down enough to do the surgery. I was not thrilled about doing the weight loss before the surgery, but share your concerns with your care team. They are there to help. The Options class does everything online, but they keep your weight confidential. They will not disclose your weight to other members in the class. I think I only had to submit my starting weight, then progress weigh-in on week 5, then final weight on week 10. Hope this helps! Doing this with Kaiser is a journey. There are a lot of hoops to jump through, but I’m really grateful that they made me do these things before the surgery.
