I am a 44 G. I hate my breasts... I have had these damn things since I was 7. That's right I got my first bra when I was in the second grade. Even at 112 lbs I wore a 34 D. If they don't go away on there own I will spend my last dime to have them reduced...

Another one for people banded around 10/22/08
Nessa38 replied to Catherine55's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 10/13 and was very lucky not to have any gas pains at all. I got my first fill of 4.5 cc's on 11/18 and am scheduled for my second fill on 12/23. My doc said I will probably get another 1.5 cc's. That will be a total of 6cc's in my 10cc realize band. -

Ok! I have found the best lube ever... It's called Just like Me by Pure Romance. It's not sticky and doesn't dry out. :whatchutalkingabout -
Hi Rob, I was banded on 10/13 the week before you. I have noticed that I will not lose anything for several days to a week or more and then boom 3 lbs come off. I also made the discovery today that maybe I am working out with too much weight. I think I am building muscle mass as I am losing. But my clothes are getting looser and looser every week so even though the scale might not reflect it my clothes do.

Did you miss your period after having surgery?
Nessa38 replied to brownskin82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My cycle started 10/8 I was banded on 10/13. I was 6 days late after surgery. Which is really weird since that is about the amount of time it took me to feel like myself after surgery. I also called my doc and he said it's normal. -
Hi Lilbit, I am 38 and just was banded on 10/13/08. I was scheduled for RNY on 8/4 and changed my mind on 7/31. I just could not do it. Too many complications. Not sure if this makes sense or not but I could never see myself after that surgery. It just never felt right to me. I happen to read a story from a lady who had RNY like 15 years ago and regreated every moment of it. The comment that just clicked and brought it all home for me was " I did this to be healthy but I didn't realize I was healthy just fat". My niece had RNY on 7/16 and has lost 104 lbs to date. She looks horrible. Her hair is falling out in clumps, she is pale as a ghost. She can not eat any meat at all. She is only 31. I worry about her every day.

What is the rudest thing someone has said to you?!?!
Nessa38 replied to auntlucy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, I have a few rude things... 1. When I was 9 I was visiting my aunt and uncle and when my uncle came home he said "Well, your as broad as a barn" Nice to say to a 9 year old. And I wasn't even a fat child. Amazing how that stuff sticks with you for LIFE! 2. I had just got married to the man of my dreams and he took me skiing with his best friends and their wives. Of coarse, they we skinny and cute and looked amazing in their little ski outfits. Anyway, we went to dinner at the resort it was a semi fancy restaurant. The waitress actually had the nerve to ask me if I was finished or just resting. Needless to say I was just resting... HA 3. And the classic, You have such a pretty face. I HATE that one... -
Band_Groupie, my port is located in the middle between my rib cage right under my breast bone. I have not had any problems at all so far. Its too high for jeans to irritate and low enough where my wired bra does not sit on it. I just had my frist fill and was terrified. I have read stories about how the doc has to push around to find the port. Well where mine is placed where isn't much fat (unlike the rest of my stomach ha) so it kind of sticks out a bit when I lay down. I didn;t even feel my first fill. It was great! So if you have a choice where you want your port to be this would be my pick.

How much can I lose?
Nessa38 replied to Chentelwilliams's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Chentel, I was scheduled for the bypass on 8/4/08. At the last minute (7/31/08) I changed my mind and decided to get the band. It's the best decision I have ever made. My husband was very concerned about the bypass. I continued to tell him I was doing this to get healthy. He searched and found articles from people that have had so many problems. Articles including statictis showing an average life span after the bypass was 30 years. The one quote that changed my mind was "I did this to be healthier but at the time I didn't realize I was already healthy just overweight." This described me to a T. I do not have hight blood pressure, diabeties, or anything else. I weighed 276 lbs and am 5'2 on the day of surgery 10/13 and have lost 24lbs already. The Friday before my suregery I had one last appt with my doc. There was a lady there checking out and she asked if I had my suregery yet. I responed that I was having it on Monday. Told her I had switched from bypass to the band. She said "Ah! that is so good my neighber had bypass 2 years ago and has had to have 3 blood transfusions because of the deficienes of the bypass. And here's the kicker... My neice had the bypass on 7/16/08 and has lost 104lbs. Her hair is falling out in clumps and she can not eat any meat at all. Honestly she looks bad. I fear for her well being. With all that being said, just need to educate yourself and most of all follow your instincts. -
Having a Drink week 2? (muchies)
Nessa38 replied to WannaBSkinnyB's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey WannaBe, I see that on your ticker it has your surgery date as 11/19/08? Have you not had your surgery yet? Today is 11/12/08 so are you asking about drinking prior to surgery? If that is the case I wouldn't see any harm in that. -
My name is Jen and I'm addicted to...
Nessa38 replied to travelinsnorkel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep! Guilty as well. We are band sisters... I was banded on the same day as you. I now have 2 scales in my KITCHEN, of all places!!! Because you know the digital scale didn't always give me the same weight each time. So I now have an old fashion dial scale right next to it. And I get on both of them at least 3 times each, you know to compare numbers. I do this when I wake up, when I come home from work, after I eat dinner, when I happen to walk through the kitchen, before I go to bed I think you get the picture. ha ha ha I think most of us have wanted to be thin for so long, or at least I have, we just want it to melt away. I have asked my husband for one of the fancy doctor scales for Christmas. I think he is a little concerned about contributing to my addiction... -
Hi! I was just wondering if anyone else has missed a period after being banded? I had my last one 10/8 and was banded on 10/13. And I am still waiting for mother nature to due her thing. I am a 28 day girl every month. It now day 32 and I know there is NO possible way I could be pregnant. My husband seems to think it's because the stress of the surgery on my body and the drastic change in my eating habits. Thanks!!!

Well I would be just as happy if I never had another one again. ha ha I had an uterine ablation 1 1/2 years ago and the doc said only about 10% of patients still have a period. Well you know I was one of the lucky 10%.

Hi All, I was just banded on 10/13 my doc placed the port in the center right below my breast line. Today it is very uncomfortable it feels as if it has moved. I noticed my wired bra tends lay on that area when I am sitting down. I started back to work on 10/20 and am sitting about 8+ hours a day and it about drove me crazy today. Has any one else had this problem? :grouphug:

those little bumps are not going away...
Nessa38 replied to lpnryyz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm amazed you are 6 months out and still now fills. Was that your decision or the docs? You have done very well with the weight loss. -
Wow! Thanks everyone. I really appreciate your comments. Oh! by the way, it's all good now. ha

Hello, I was banded on 10/13 everything seems to be going good except no BM... Today is day 6. Should I be worried? Is there something I can take? I have lost 10lbs since 10/13 I guess it was all water. My doctor doesn't require any kind of pre-op diet. So yep, I'm sure there's a lot in there! :smile2: Has anyone else experienced this?

oh my aching head....ooOOOHHHHH
Nessa38 replied to Lshelley21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 10/13 and experienced the exact same thing. I woke up on nights 3, 4 and 5 with a migraine and also drenched in sweat. Day 6 I slept all night. Not sure what was going on but mine went away. I would say you might want to call your doc if it does not let up. -
Will do! Thanks to you both!
