I'm very curious about this also. I started with 44 G's pre-band and now at 42 F. Have any of you been a self pay? If so can you let me know what the cost is?

Kat, I know exactly what you are experiencing with the eating. I do not throw up but I think that's because I can feel it coming on and stop eating immediatlu. It is truly is a day to day thing with me. I now have 7.2 cc's (as of today) in my 10 cc band. I told my doc about it today when I went to see him and he didn't act concerned he just gave me another fill. I see you have 8. something but I was wondering whst size band you have? -
Less restriction than before the fill
Nessa38 replied to stownsend's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I never have any restriction after a fill. For some reason it usually takes my body about 3 weeks to feel the fill. I think what my doc is doing is removing all the fluid at the time of the fill and then puts it all back it with a little more. My last fill was on 3/3 and I couldn't even tell I had the band until 3/20. No I think I'm way too tight. -
Good one!!! Watch out we just might flash back...

Well i think the arms are a little harder to tone than the legs. At least for me. I have found the most wonderful machine in the world... It's called the ArcTrainer. It has really shaped my legs and butt. I use the "weight loss" mode on a low level. I started out only being able to stay on for like 5 minutes and am now up to 45 minutes averaging 3+ miles. I do this 3 to 4 times a week along with some weight training. I have only lost 50 pounds since October but have gone from a size 22W to 16W. So I honestly believe without this machine I would not be getting the results by just losing weight alone.

Boy! Our DH's really have a way with words. This is one of those comments I would taken offense to and my DH would be like "but it's a compliment"... ha ha ha -

Call me crazy but I love it when my belly growls and rumbles. It had been years since I actually felt hungry. Now it serves as a reminder that No, I do not need to eat all the time. And I have seriously have become use to it growling. And with a little will power and my band I will be thin and healthier one day! Hang in there! It gets better.

Hey Spudgirl, I was banded om 10/13. I just hit 40 pounds today. I have been drinking about 80 oz of Water a day and it's really helped. I think I lost about 5 lbs in just the last week and a half. Switch up your routine a bit. Change your diet, exercise or water intake a little and see what happens. Good luck!

Weight loss at 3 months post-op??
Nessa38 replied to JustGav04's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 10/13/08. I have lost 38 pounds to date. This has all been post-op. I was not required to be on a pre-op diet. I love my band!!! -
Hi Dr. Schulman, I was just wondering at what point during weight lose would you recommend a breast reduction? I have always had very large breasts, currently a 42 G(down from 44G). I get rashes under them now and back pain is just a part of life. I have lost about 37lbs and weigh 239. I guess I am worried once I get down under 200 and still have triple D's or F's my insurance won't pay. I just don't know if I should try to get a reduction when I hit 200 and take these girls down to like a DD and then when I am finished losing weight they will be a somewhat perky C. I really appreciate any feedback you can give me. Thanks Nessa

Ok, I'm just a little curious how many others are starting to experience a little extra attention from the opposite sex? I have only lost 35 lbs to date but the men are staring to notice me more. It could be because my massive 42 G's are no longer blending in with my belly. ha ha ha Let me know if you are having the same happen to you.

Kalamazoo, find yourself a good attorney. I can not believe he left all that in there.

Ok, I think there may be something wrong with me. I was so hoping that my sex drive would increase as I lost weight. And nothing yet. I am down 36 pounds feeling better about my body, I work out a lot, I'm more flexible and still not feeling the desire yet. My kids are pretty much grown so they are not a problem. It just kills DH I would rather sleep than have sex. It's just getting started is where the problem is. Once it's going on it's all good just getting to get to that point is almost impossible. Anyone else dealing with this type of issue?

Ok, I just got my second fill on 12/23. And I still have this big honking bruise at the injection site. I'm not kidding this thing is like 2 inches by 2 inches and everyday it gets darker and darker. I would think after a week it would be going into the yellow/green look but it's going more purple. Should I be concerned? I usually do not bruise like this. Has anyone else experienced this?

Had no trouble at all. I will wait to see what it looks like in a couple of day and if not better I will call the doc. Thanks!

Yep! It's a wonderful feeling I will admit. I started out in a very tight 22 and bought a pair of size 20 (blue light special) Lee jeans last night and the girls at work said "Why did you buy new jeans that are too big?" and they were right. Butt is very baggy and waist is too big. My size 00 friend asked why I didn't have my belt on. Ha ha ha ha I've never owned a belt. My hips, A** and belly were always there to hold them up.

Yeah! Don't ever try a new food with your band as you are driving. First time I PB was on chicken nuggets driving I freaked out. It's takes only 2 nuggets or 1/2 of a strip I think I am going to DIE! I guess this is a good thing since I shouldn't be eating ANYTHING from there anyway.

Hi! Bellsmommy, we are neighbors. I am in Northern KY. I have a wonderful doctor. His name is Thomas Sonnanstine. He is at St. Luke in Florence. I love him and his staff. I was originally scheduled for bypass on 8/4 and changed my mind on 7/30. I was banded on 10/13. He was very understanding and made me feel like what ever decision I made it was the correct one. I LOVE him. He is very dedicated to his patients. Maybe i you found the right doctor to help you through your journey it would be more enjoyable for you. Feel free to PM me if need be. Nessa

you look amazing... I just have to ask what your daily routine is like. I was banded a week after you on 10/13 and have only lost half of what you have lost. did you lose a lot pre-op? After seeing you I'm starting to wonder what I'm doing wrong.

Banded by Dr. Sonnanstine, in Florence KY on 10/13/08. Not only is he wonderful he is the sexiest doctor I've ever seen...
