Question for the ladies ..
Thegirlnextdoor replied to Thegirlnextdoor's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Crishell! You described EXACTLY the same issue I have to a T . It drives me nuts as well and it's true,I tend to only feel like i'm losing weight for about 2 weeks out of the month. It is very frustrating !! -
I HATE PMS lol. About a week before I start ,I typically gain about 4 pounds and don't lose it again until about a day after I start ,I hate it and on top of that I crave salty stuff. Ugh. Do any of you have suggestions on how you deal with the pms weight gain and cravings? Thank you !

weight loss immediately post surgery
Thegirlnextdoor replied to kplant's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'd say you're right where you're supposed to be .Some people gain a little weight after surgery. I'd say you're doing well. -
This is the way my Doctor did it too ..he just spoke around and got it on the first try. How did it go ?

how long after a fill to feel restriction??
Thegirlnextdoor replied to amberd910's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me ,I felt restriction right away but I think it's because right before I had my fill,I felt pretty much no restriction . -

I'm back and feeling better!
Thegirlnextdoor posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First of all ,thank you to those who supported me the day before I went in for my first fill. I was so upset because I hadn't lost any weight for most of December. The good news is ,I went in to have my fill (they put in 2ml) and I had not gained any way,I was so relieved. I managed to maintain my weight in the month of December. The fill was relatively painless and I can certainly tell a difference and if I don't slow down ,OWWY lol. I'm back to losing weight and I feel so much better. Thank you for your support. I'm kind of going nuts lately because I'm so use to going outside and walking on my lunch break but haven't been able to due to this brutal cold air we've had that's moved in so I'm going to start going to the gym (even though I'm not really a gym person lol). ((((hugs)))):yikes: -

Hi everyone, I have my first fill tomorrow. I was wondering what can I expect and a couple of days after? Thank you.

Hi everyone, I've had a tough last few weeks and I haven't come to the forums because I kind of feel like I'm the only one going through this 2 months post op. I had my one month follow up on December 5th everything was great and the PA told me that I may start to feel hungrier soon and that was normal since I haven't had a fill yet. My Doctor does not do a fill until 2 months post op. The rest of December was bad. I have lost and gained the same 3 pounds. I'm so frustrated. I have my first fill (FINALLY) tomorrow morning. I'm afraid their going to give me a hard time about not really losing any weight this month. The dietitian told me in December that if I come in without gaining any weight then I've been successful but frankly ,I don't feel it. I HATE being hungry and just about the whole month of December,I have felt like I've had no restriction. I feel like a failure ,even though technically I've only gained a pound or so ,STILL. I really need some support ,I hope I don't get in tomorrow and get a lecture.

I wish the same thing for myself. -
It's been a while..help!!
Thegirlnextdoor replied to Thegirlnextdoor's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At this point,I'd settle for ANY restriction. It almost feels like there's nothing there ,except that I know there is ,considering I still feel "tight" in the morning . -

A specific question about fills and such?
Thegirlnextdoor posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My question is this .. Is it normal to not feel like you have any restriction at times ,if you've never had a fill? I put a call into my surgeons office to see if maybe they could move my fill appt to December instead of January. I'll let you know what they say  . -
A specific question about fills and such?
Thegirlnextdoor replied to Thegirlnextdoor's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you so much for your response. I've still not heard back from the nurse. I called Monday to see about getting in sooner,so i'm thinking she is waiting to consult with the Doctor. I've been kind of bummed the last 2 days because I was feeling so in control these last weeks and then all of a sudden this happens. Your reply has helped . Thank you ! -
Hi Everyone, Has anyone tried to follow the South Beach diet after WLS? This is what i've most had success with (as far as losing weight) and wasn't sure if anyone else tried this after surgery and had success. Thanks!

Now I know what it feels like to need a fill!
Thegirlnextdoor replied to Thegirlnextdoor's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you for your respone,Jenny! It really helps to have the encouragement!! I'm trying to stay postive,I have to remind myself that is is just a minor set back but I find that even when I gain a pound back,I freak out. -
Any input would be great. I'm getting different opinions within my surgeon's office on when to stop crushing my meds. The nurse said ,oh give it a couple of weeks, the Dietician is saying wait 6 to 7 more weeks. I don't get it. How can it be that I can eat things like scrambled eggs but not take a tiny pill whole ? Can you guys let me know what you were advised ? Thanks :whatchutalkingabout !

My eating got derailed last night.....
Thegirlnextdoor replied to Mim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just thought of something else. Maybe you're actually just really thirsty. Have you increased your exercise lately ?That might be the cause of you being hungrier as well. Another thing that triggers binge eating for me ,is when i'm really tired.
