    Newbie

Hi and welcome to the room. This site has really helped me alot. If you can't find an answer on the message boards there are people in the chat room pretty much 24 hours a day. I hope things go well for you. :tongue2:
  2. I had my band last Thursday (6-5-08). I am getting over the soreness and I have been a little hungry a few times but the protein shakes keep me pretty satisfied. This is a big committment, but as I thought of all my failed diets, I needed this tool to help me, otherwise, I would ruin my body. You have to think about this and hopefully you will feel good about your decision. Good luck.

    I have a consultation scheduled!

:thumbup:I just had my lapband last Thursday, don't worry, it's really not that bad. I wish you good luck and success!
  4. :biggrin2:I was banded last Thursday. Mine took just under an hour and the doctor also repaired a hiatal hernia. So I would estimate 30 to 45 minutes. I was sore until yesterday. The more you try and get up and walk, the faster you will feel better. Just dont try and do any housework, just worry about yourself at first.
  5. I am having a sleep study tomorrow night. If they find apnea will it delay my surgery. Do I have anything to worry about? Thanks, Wanda:sad:
  6. That was so me. I do have a dog that sleeps with me. When we moved 2 years ago, I decided I wanted my own bedroom. I know I snore because I wake myself up! Thanks for the info.
  7. I would think anything at MUSC would be top notch.

    Come On SC!

I lived in Rock Hill all of my life until we moved about 7 miles to York 2 years ago. I am in the preliminary stages right now. The doctor I am going to is at Lexington Medical Center and I had to attend one info group meeting, I have an appt with him April 8, and I hear everyone has to have counseling. So with all that if they accept me, maybe June to August for surgery. I can't wait. I am so sick of looking and feeling like this. Glad to know there are others close by going through the same things and we can talk.:cursing:

    Pre-Surgery Diet

I have Medicare and when I called they didnt say anything about a 6 month diet. If I "honestly" went on a six month serious diet, my BMI would drop below acceptable. Then I would gain all the weight back. Had you been on diets before? This one really scares me.
  10. Did you have counseling before this? Seems like your issues should have been addressed before surgery so that you could feel good about yourself. If you needed it, wanted it, who cares, I bet there are more breast implants out there than lap bands!
