Thanks! I put a bandage over it for tonight, I have an appointment tomorrow so i'll be sure to ask them what they suggest to make sure it heals correctly. Sent from my SM-G998U using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm now 3 weeks post op and all of my incisions have closed and look great, except one. The one across my belly button is taking FOREVER and it seems like the scab keeps getting knocked off while I sleep or while i'm doing everyday things during the day. It's not open-open, nothing is coming out of it, i'm just worried it's going to be pulled open somehow when the scab is off. Did anyone else have this issue? Yes! [emoji1787] I complained to my significant other for the first two days home about how horrible that bed was. I told him it was like a kinder nap mat laid on a gurney. Sent from my SM-G998U using BariatricPal mobile app

Oh yes, the bruising is wicked! At least for me lol. I went to my appointment Monday and she said considering how I bruised from simple lab work, she wasn't surprised these were bruising me like they are (I guess I just bruise easy). I asked if there was an alternative but she told me flat out for what I need there is no oral substitute, it has to be injections. I just told her I would continue and do my best with them. I'm terrified of a clot. Sent from my SM-G998U using BariatricPal mobile app

I am hoping once I hit soft foods that I will finally be able to feel like i'm taking in what I should be. It's hard to tell with the liquids and purees. Sent from my SM-G998U using BariatricPal mobile app

I've also noticed that the lower on the belly the less it hurts. I've been trying to go for the lower belly when I can and alternate sides morning and evening. Sent from my SM-G998U using BariatricPal mobile app

That's very interesting! I knew my BMI had something to do with it, that was the only reasoning I could see. Someone else was explaining there's a marker in a blood panel that can show if you are prone to clotting and I also wonder if they tested for that in the labwork they did while I was waiting to go back into the OR. I'll have to try an arnica cream, thanks! I brought it up to her at my appointment Monday morning and she said given the way I bruised from simple lab work she isn't surprised I bruised with these. She said I could try icing it beforehand to see if it helps and maybe try some vitamin e oil on the bruising. Sent from my SM-G998U using BariatricPal mobile app

I didn't know about it either! And let me tell you, I was livid. I don't understand how they can prescribe it to someone who has no medical experience, give them a 30 second demonstration, and send them on their way. I'm making it work because i'm terrified of getting a blood clot, but I hate it. Sent from my SM-G998U using BariatricPal mobile app

Oh yes, I haven't had any constipation with all these liquids [emoji28] I think my plan is the same as yours. Liquids for another week then the day after Easter (4/18) I can start pureed and soft foods. I'm looking forward to some scrambled eggs lol. I honestly haven't weighed myself since the morning of surgery. I'm prone to becoming obsessive with the scale and the numbers so i'm trying to wait until I go to my follow up appointment tomorrow. This!!! I have been exactly the same, wondering if i'm taking in too much. Today i've had 36 ounces of water, 2 protein shakes (11 ounces each), 8 ounces of flavored water, and 3 ounces of soup. And it's only 3 p.m. here. They said aim for at least 64 ounces of water each day. Sent from my SM-G998U using BariatricPal mobile app

Oh twins! My pain has pretty much gone at this point unless I stretch too far or lean the wrong way. My nausea lasted the first two days and I took Tylenol for pain for the first four or so. I really miss sleeping on my side! I hate sleeping on my back [emoji24] How about you? Are you healing up nicely? Sent from my SM-G998U using BariatricPal mobile app

Hi! My surgery was on 4/4/2022 so I'm 6 days post op today. I was sent home with 28 days worth of Lovenox injections to prevent blood clotting. I understand how important they are and 100% plan on doing what I need to do with them, however, I am bruising up after some of the injections. I already have the bruises from the incisions which look ROUGH, but I feel like these bruises might be contributing to the chaos that is my torso right now. I also saw in the side effects and papers about the injections to contact the doctor if you start to bruise, but it's listed as a "minor side effect" and I don't feel sick or anything from it so I've kept on with them and will say something to her at my 1 week post op visit tomorrow. Did anyone have these injections as well and if so, did you have any issues using them or reactions to them?
