I think my last challenge was Easter and I haven't been on since then But I got what may have been my last fill (dr. said he didn't need to see me anymore) on June 30th and I'm down 5lbs. I lost 19.5 since my last fill in March, but lost nothing in the last 6-8 weeks and had started gaining before my June fill. I would love, love, love, to get to the finish line by my one year bandiversary, but I'm going to try for what I put in my signature. Good luck everyone!!

When did you actually feel Restriction with your Fill?
charlie4171 replied to Sommerbrez's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just had my 4th fill (7 months post op) today. The first time I had restriction was for the two weeks following surgery. The next time wasn't until fill #3. That lasted nearly 3 months and I lost 23.5 lbs. I'm hoping today's fill will get me down the homestretch and to goal. I was at 7.5cc in a 10cc band on fill #3. I didn't ask how much he put in today. I'm so close to maxing out, which the nurse pointed out, but I talked to the doctor and he said not to worry, that I had plenty of room left because now I'm at the point of restriction, and that I was doing fine. -
I jogged for 20 minutes without stopping. I didn't think I could go that long! I've been trying and trying to start running, but it didn't happen until today. Now that I know I can do it, I can gradually start incorporating it into my workout and build up my stamina.

188.0 last week: 190.2 Fill got cancelled. I sooooo need one this week. I'm starving too and eating...and upping my exercise to compensate.
-
Absolutely. If I don't weigh everyday, it's too easy to get off track. If the scale goes up, then I know I have to crack down on what/how much I am eating and increase my exercise. It's too easy to just let things slide, so I have to really be on top of every pound.

Friday Morning Weigh In - Friday the 13th of March
charlie4171 replied to lellow's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congratulations everyone on the great week, and congrats on the 100% Lellow! I missed last week's weigh in. I've been up and down. Can't wait for my fill on Tuesday. It's been 3 months since my last one. Today: 190.2 5.2 lbs to Easter goal -
That's what mine were doing and I was irritated! It didn't occur to me that they were too big-I figured I'd stretched them out or something .

My shoe size used to be 8 1/2. Then when my weight got past some unknown point, only a 9 or 9 1/2 would fit. I couldn't even squeeze my foot into an 8 1/2. I tried on 3 pairs of shoes today, all different brands. They all fit-in size 8 1/2. I still have big feet; at least now they're only long...and not fat!

charlie4171 replied to MistyD65's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think I'm at the dreaded plateau:eek:. Pretty much staying the same 208.6 to 208.3 . Going to try and kick up my exercising and see if I can make this a very short pause. -
Ok, count me in. Current wt: 208.6 Goal for V-Day: 199 I want that "1" so badly!!! Good luck everyone

Went in for my 3rd fill today...and just happen to be at the 3 month mark. 27 pounds lost since surgery. Doctor said that is really good and then said NO FILL!!! I have to wait 6 weeks again. I feel like I'm just on the verge of getting to the sweet spot. I get to battle Thanksgiving on my own-I have just a little restriction now...by then, I'll have zip.

New to Lap Band and forums:)
charlie4171 replied to carriebelieves's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was banded on Aug. 14th and by Day 4 post op, I was starving! I was on clear liquids only-water, juice, broth, jello, popsicles. I toughed it out until Day 9 and then I caved and went to the next phase one day early. Now I am halfway through the second phase of full liquids where I can have blended soups and protein shakes-it makes all the difference in the world! Just make it through that first phase and then it gets easier! -
I'm 11 days post-op and have my first follow up with the surgeon tomorrow. What can I expect, besides check my incisions?
-
Wow, it's been one week since surgery. Incisions are starting to itch. It's easier to get in and out of bed. I'm starving (clear liquid diet is the worst diet I've EVER been on). My first check up is on Tuesday.:cursing: How's everyone else doing?
-
I am now banded

The port area was the most painful for me too, especially getting in/out of the hospital bed. I think it was around Day 5 when I finally made it through a day without taking any pain meds. Hope your pain goes away fast! -
Who else is on their post liquid diet and STARVING!?!?!?
charlie4171 replied to PaulaTx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks Vegasgirl. I'm going to try the Crystal Light mixture tomorrow. Hang in there, Paula! One more day-I'm jealous!!! -
Who else is on their post liquid diet and STARVING!?!?!?
charlie4171 replied to PaulaTx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
***raises hand*** I'm on Day 7 of post op clear liquids. Between the gas rumbling and hunger rumbling, it's like a symphony in my belly! I've been surviving on Jello, popsicles, broth, fruit juice, and Water. I tried the IDS orange Protein bullet-yuck!! I have three other flavors to try and see if I can get one down. I have 4 more days of this...I can't wait for Sunday when I can have an Atkins shake, sf pudding, yogurt and soup!!!!....ahhhh, that sounds heavenly!!! I just have to survive til then...........................................ugh!! -
I'm 3 days post op. Question: Does laughing make your port area hurt? I was laughing and OMG I started crying because the pressure was so bad and it hurt!!! Questions 2/3: How soon did your surgical tape fall off? And how soon did your incisions start itching?

Swollen Belly after Surgery
charlie4171 replied to vegasgirl44's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me, too!! I put on a pair of shorts and it was 4-6 inches apart from button to button hole-I'm soooo swollen. I have cancelled everything and everywhere that I'm supposed to go-NONE of my pants will fit and my shirts are sticking to my belly. It's gone down a little bit each day. The first couple of days it was so tight, it didn't move at all. Yesterday, I could push on it and it would go in some. Today I can suck it in a little. I have to go to class tomorrow night so I'm hoping between today and tomorrow to get down to 5 months pregnant!!! Hang in there!!
