I REALLY hate PCOS...I feel defeated...

So I spoke with my PCP and I have an appointment to come in next week because some new and fun things are going on. So I'm noticing pain in my lower abdomen. Happens mostly when I go #2 and I didn't think much of it. Then it started happening at other times, and it would get so bad I couldn't take a full breath. And even the lightest touch on my abdomen would have me in tears. Can last anywhere from 5 minutes to almost an hour, then just goes away. Having nausea when I eat, and sometimes when I don't. She doesn't like the sound of that, so I need to see her and they can do an ultrasound in her office and refer me to yet another specialist if needed. I still have no restriction at all whatsoever, which surprised her. But we're still waiting on the results of my scope, and now this. She said the rapid weight gain and the pain and nausea could be related and she wants to get to the bottom of it.
  2. Had a fantastic appointment!!! Today I am exactly 4 1/2 months post op and I've lost 76 pounds!!! My blood sugar was 108 (had my a1c tested, waiting on that). My hematocrit (I always had iron deficient anemia - low red blood cell count, so the higher the hematocrit, the better the iron level) is at 46. My protein is at 8.2. My blood pressure was 113/70. And she agreed that since I work out 5 days per week and everything looks good, we can start to wean me off the Celebrex (anti-inflammatory for joint and muscle pain) and start to increase the turmeric (we've been doing this little by little but we're going to go a little bit bigger and faster now and see how it goes). I am currently off 4 meds. If I can get off the Celebrex, that'll be 5 meds gone!!! That's all I can get rid of since the rest are for my MS and my GERD issues (scope was rescheduled to this Friday to find out more about what's going on there). Here's a pic pre-op and a pic my hubby took today

My doctor is ok with it, it's my insurance that won't approve it.

    Thrive

I mentioned it's an MLM because they have a terrible business model, they have had several lawsuits, and they drastically overprice their products. You can get the same kind of products for a lot less from reputable companies. That's all I meant by it. I hate to see people get sucked into MLMs. You start as a customer and they will eventually try to recruit you to sell because that's how they make their money. Anyway, I do wish you all the best, and I hope you continue to see results.

    Post VSG Vitamins/Supplements

I still take a multivitamin (I always have so I plan to continue), the D3 (I have to anyway for my MS, so again, I have no plans to stop), and biotin (it's not hurting anything, so why not?). I stopped the calcium a few weeks ago because I get what I need from what I eat (particularly the shakes I have for breakfast because I make them with unsweetened vanilla almond milk and add chia seeds and flax seeds to them) and I normally have 2 colby jack cheese sticks for a snack. My most recent bloodwork came back good, so I was told I could stop the calcium and see how things go.

Weight gain going into week three

I tend to gain 2-4 pounds anytime I hit a stall, and then I stay there for a few weeks. Once the stall breaks, I drop like 6 pounds at once. It's normal, and it'll pass. Just be patient.

Cabbage with tomato sauce? No thanks.

    Thrive

Is that the MLM Le-Vel? I think they are the ones that have Thrive. I would say ask your doctor, but personally I wouldn't support anything from an MLM. Just looked. Yep, it's Thrive by Le-Vel: https://le-vel.com/

I'll look into it. I don't think anything is wrong with my heart but it never hurts to check.

I REALLY hate PCOS...I feel defeated...

They won't do a hysterectomy because there's no medical reason for it. I asked. I also asked about hrt but my insurance won't cover it and it's really expensive out of pocket.
  11. Who are you telling? We know that's the official name for the bypass.
  12. Yeah, usually it's a revision from sleeve to bypass. I've never heard of a bypass to sleeve revision. How does that work?

    pre surgery non scale victory

You're doing so well!!! You're already much lower in weight and bmi going into surgery than I was. You'll be awesome afterwards if you're this disciplined now. I can't wait to see the changes in your life and body and health once you're on the other side of it. Keep going!!!

    pre surgery non scale victory

Congrats!!! I love when the scale reflects the hard work, but the non scale victories are even better. My pre surgery bmi was 63, so I completely feel you there. You got this

Went to see my doctor today....

I'm actually enjoying it I'm on the last week of my last class, and I just got hired at a new company with pay that is $22k per year more than I was making before (and I was already making good money). But as much as I love all of that, the weight and health improvements I'm seeing are so, so much better. I can always find another job, or finish a degree. But I can't get another me. You know?

    Before and After Pics

As of today, I am 4 1/2 months post op and I have lost 76 pounds. I work out 5 days per week, I eat keto, I had gastric sleeve, and I am VERY strict with what goes into my body. My iron, blood sugar, and blood pressure are all normal and I'm no longer on any meds for them. Here's a pre surgery pic and a pic my hubby just now took of me. Notice a difference? LOL

Nausea, Puking and Other - 11 days post op

I had no idea what that was. I just looked it up. OMGoodness!!!! I'm so so glad you went and had everything checked out. I was about to say dehydration but everyone beat me to it lol Then I saw your update and I just wanted to reach out and tell you I hope everything works out. Does your surgeon have anything in mind for taking care of this?
  19. My surgeon's office submitted it to my insurance, got the approval back in 48 hours, and then called me to schedule the surgery (it was 2 weeks out because the surgeon was booked). Given that insurance companies can take between 2-30 days for approval (or deny and then there's an appeal and all that) I would be leery if a surgeon scheduled me before they had the insurance approval first.

    Gastric sleeve

I'm 4 1/2 months out and can eat most things, and in bigger portions than I would like. I have to make myself limit what I eat. I never lost the hunger hormone, so I can eat more often, and in larger volume, than a lot of people on here. That being said....you should be able to eat fairly normally (albeit in smaller amounts) by now. You're further along than I am, so you really need to talk to your surgeon to find out why you can't eat. In the meantime, look into Fairlife and Premier protein shakes. Have 3 per day plus your 2 or 3 spoonful's of food every day until you can see your doctor.

    Pain on left side

It's gas from the surgery. Use a heating pad, walk a lot, take it slow. It's normal.

Needing to pee all the time

I got in to see my doctor today and yep, I have a UTI. I was given antibiotics and told to make sure I'm getting 300mg of magnesium and drinking even more fluids than normal (I already drink 70+ ounces per day but she said increase it for right now).

I'm a bit lost : PCOS, losing slowly...

I have PCOS and that is a factor when it comes to weight loss. It literally holds on to the weight. Also, if you start at a lower bmi, the weight will be slower in coming off. Are you sticking to the diet? Are you exercising several times a week? Are you snacking a lot? I agree, I would talk with your doctor, have your blood work done and hormone levels checked, and see if maybe taking Metformin will help. Also, pay close attention to your non scale victories. When the scale isn't doing what you want, those will be life savers.

Needing to pee all the time

I just looked it up and all signs point to a UTI. Guess I'm calling my doctor in the morning to get some antibiotics.

Needing to pee all the time

This also just started for me and I'm 4 1/2 months post op. Like, all of a sudden I'm peeing every hour to hour and a half. Messes up my sleep and everything. Not sure what's going on there. Hopefully someone here can post about what they found out. I'd love to know if it's because of the surgery or if I have a uti or something.
