    Newbie from Pennsylvania

Did you have any complications after surgery? Can you explain how long you were in the hospital, pain, issues after, and your rate of loss? How logn from the 1st seminar to your surgery date was it? Oh, and how much does the nutritionist sessions cost, do you know? Sorry to bombard you with that, but the nutritionist is the only thing not covered by my insurance (Capital Blue Cross).
  6. My sister, who is a nurse anesthetist and tells me HORROR STORIES of gastric bypasses and lap bandings gone wrong while on the operating table, always tells me that all I need is to just "stick with Weight Watchers" because I'll have to eat the same way post surgery anyway. My other sister and brothers, as well as my mother have tried to dissuade me through fear and guilt but I'm done with it all. I told my mother that my mind was made up and I'm starting the process to get the lap banding done, and she's done a turn-around and is supporting me, but I made her swear not to tell anyone else in my family until after the operation and the things move along well enough, then I'll tell them. The only people to know are my mother, husband, and children. It's my decision and my health or lack thereof right now, so I am relying on me and no one else.

    Unsure due to cost

I'm very blessed that my insurance will cover 100% plus fills afterward. I would definitely shop around, though. Just don't go to Mexico!
  8. Ok, so I'm just going to my 1st mandatory seminar at Hershey Med Center on August 21st to start the process. I've done an extreme amount of research on the good and bad of having a lap band implanted and have reached my last resort, so any advice from anyone that has gone through this already would be greatly appreciated!

    Newbie From Ohio Here !

Hi there, I'm new with it all, too. I'm set to go to the 1st mandatory seminar at Hershey Med Center on August 21st, so I'm excited. Just remember, I've been reading the good and the bad, because there is bad out there, too. Just remember to prepare yourself for anything that could possibly happen! Good luck!
