  1. I’m asking for a stronger dose. I’ve been taking 2 of the acid meds they give me when they prescribed me one and that has been helping a lot along with the mylanta. I‘ve had about 24oz of water and still working. 2 oz of broth, half a jello and a popsicle. I just do not feel like eating AT ALL. Strangest feeling.
  2. Just an fyi mylanta works wonders for this reflux. My step mom recommended it and it has been so helpful. All I want to do is take a long sip of really cold water but I know I can’t so I keep trying to imagine that I am. Haha.
  3. They gave me 40mg of panteprozole and I messaged my doctor and let him know the troubles I’m having, hopefully they can put me on a different medicine and up the dose to help with the reflux. I have been able to get down 4 more oz of water so that makes me happy!
  4. I messaged my doctor and hopefully I’ll hear back tomorrow because the pantoprozole they gave me isn’t doing the trick.

    Periods (women only please)

I had surgery Wednesday the 6th and started my period Thursday the 7th. On the 8th when I got discharged I went to go to the bathroom and I’ve never seen that much blood in my life. But I’m also on blood thinners. First thing I’ve noticed is that the bleeding is heavier and my period is lasting longer than 2 days.
  6. I had my sleeve surgery on Wednesday. Don’t remember any of Wednesday, was throwing up and nauseous and in terrible pain Thursday. Friday I was feeling better so they sent me home. I kept complaining of waves of acid reflux, they kept telling me that’s normal. I am miserable. I’m taking the acid medicine they gave me, mylanta and Pepcid complete per doctor. Mylanta gives some relief but I still feel like I can take in much at all. I’m weak and drained and kind of second guessing myself. Never struggled with acid reflux before so why now? Is this part of the healing process? Any advice could be great.
  7. I’m dealing with really bad acid reflux after surgery. I’m 4 days out of surgery and I’m just really struggling with this. Can’t lay down at all. Either standing or sitting straight up. Drank about 3oz of a protein drink, 4 oz of water and a popsicle. Very tired and drained. I really hope this reflux is just part of the healing process because I’m miserable.
  8. my surgery is tomorrow as well. 10:30 am. i'm so nervous but i'm so excited to finally start taking care of myself.
  9. You're right!!!! My surgery is tomorrow at midnight. LOL. It's Wednesday. I was so nervous at first but now I'm anxious and excited. I'm ready to get it done!!! I hope you get your surgery date soon. Do you have to wait for insurance? I was on the fast track insurance plan. It didn't seem fast but I started going beginning of December and am having surgery April 6th!!
  10. Sounds to me like you're doing great! I started at 301, got down to 289 in the course of the 3-4 months I've been going to appointments and classes and I am on day 6 of my pre op liquid diet and I am down to 281 as of the night before last! Stick to it, you can treat yourself every once in awhile just don't let yourself slip back into treating yourself all the time. You're doing a great job! Keep it up!
  11. Oh my goodness, I couldn't do work from home right now. It would be torture. The biggest torture right now is cooking for my kids. I always snacked on whatever I was cooking as I cooked so it's been so hard for me to just cook the food!!!! But I'm proud of myself for sticking to it. I didn't think I was going to be able to do it, but I have!
  12. Kimmy Kaye, I find it easier for me to not be distracted when I'm at work. When I'm at home I just keep staring at the goldfish crackers on top of the fridge begging me to eat them. LMAO. I'm glad I have someone going through it the same day as me. Keep in touch okay?
  13. The day after me!!!! IM GETTING SO ANXIOUS. Sending all the positive vibes your way!!!
  14. Random question for those who have already gone through the surgery. How do you take your vitamins on an empty stomach? If I take vitamins on an empty stomach it makes me sick to my stomach and I don't want to risk that right out of surgery. Any suggestions?
  15. The 6th for me! I am so ready. I'm starting to feel comfortable on the liquid diet and I'm enjoying watching the scale go down. It makes all the agony in those first two days worth it.
