My name is Stephanie. I am feeling so excited to be continuing my fitness and health journey with a new tool that I believe will aid in my goal of being physically, the healthiest. When it comes to my relationship with food, I have been reckless with it for quite some time. It has always been an instrument of boredom, until, recently, I have been turning to food when I was stressed (when I normal would not have) and that has resulted in massive weight gain and a very deep depression that has now lead to anxiety of a certain level that I have never experienced, a fear of being seen. It's awful.
I never thought that I would qualify for WLS, but then I saw a bariatric add and the before picture of the woman in the ad weighed the same as me - and that is when I thought that it was possible. So after about a week of obsessive research and checking if my insurance covered WLS (Aug 2021), I decided to go ahead and find a center to start the process. Now, here I am about to go into surgery May 27 2022. I feel relieved (because I know that this will work for me) and excited to use my tool, because I know how to lose weight  - but with my life losing 150 lbs isn't the easiest and WLS will kickstart the process of a goal and put it directly in front of me and actually make it possible to lose this weight.
In addition to weight loss surgery, i am going to therapy, reading more, learning more and just really making a valiant effort to understand myself and make healthy decisions so that I can thrive in a world that offers so much opportunity for a fun and fulfilling life. I am a mom and I want to be the best not only for me, but for my children, my mom, and my siblings.
So if you are reading this and would like to get to know me, I welcome friends that can relate to this journey and understand the blocks (mentally, emotionally and physically}.
To a happier, healthier you,
