    Any Wii Fit Users??

I have the Wii system and I absolutely LOVE it; however I view it as supplemental exercise. I do not use it as my main source of exercise as I don't believe it will help maximize weight loss results. In conjuction with Wii I do Zumba, Body Pump, Body Flow, Boot Camp, Eliptical and Personal Training sessions. I need to add more weight machine workouts. I'm losing a steady amount of weight. Continue using Wii but make sure you get other forms of exercise as well. What is your FAVORITE Wii fit exercise? Mine is HULA HOOP.

    grapefruits?

Ashley, I tried both grapefruits and oranges for the first time since being banded and they are both fine to eat. I had no trouble. Chew, chew, chew.
  3. It makes you wonder. (LOL) By the way, I didn't meat to say soy fruit, I found a soy/oatmeal/fruit/nut bar that was really good. This too shall pass, no pun intended.
  4. I like the Champion Pure Whey
  5. It's a 21 day fast called the "Daniel fast". It's biblically based and only til the 21st of January. Trust me, I can't wait to have a piece of meat.

  7. Right now I'm on a fast that animal product restrictive. I've been juicing fruits and vegis, eating brown rice, beans, vegetables, fruits, wheat or brown rice pasta, tofu, oatmeal, nuts, soy fruit and nut bars, soy or rice cheese etc... I'm not sure what it could be out of all those things except for beans but I'm not eating those daily.

    Has anyone tried the WAVE?

I bought it and it's still in the box. I am contemplating sending it back for a refund. I have a gym membership where I like the group fitness classes and my home gym has a treadmill, recumbent bike and weights. I'm thinking I don't really have time the WAVE.
  9. I'm on a 21 day Daniel fast which means I can have NOTHING from an animal. Most items though are high in carbs and I would like to keep that to a minimum (below 100 grams). Can anyone help me with some recipes or suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated.

    Sept. Samurai Surgery Check-in

36 lbs in a little more than 3 months is not slow...but remember slow and steady is good. Congrats!!! You're doing great. I've had 3 fills and the third was the charm. Keep up the good work.

    Sept. Samurai Surgery Check-in

WOW!!! Your weight loss is simply incredible. Congratulations. I was banded Sept 2nd and have lost 40 lbs. and have had 3 fills. I'm happy for your success. Happy New Year. Let's make it a GREAT one.
  12. That's so normal. You'll be fine. Do something to take your mind off of surgery. Get that anti nausea meds and you'll do great. I think I was so geeked and ready, that I didn't have time to be nervous. I remember they carted me off to the surgery room, had me move over to another table and then put a mask on my face and told me to take 3 deep breaths and I only remember the 1st. Next thing I knew they were waking me up after surgery. I really didn't feel pain until later that evening and even then I was so on top of the pain meds that it wasn't that bad. Good luck.
  13. My reply to her would have gone something like this "Girl, I'm due in February", what about yourself?
  14. I had surgery in Sept at the ripe age of 44 and was very concerned with the rate I would lose. Thank God it has been very successful. I think the main things are diet and exercise. Not that you have to be so strict, but getting your protein and veggies in and cardio with some strength at least 4 days per week. Congrats to all the ladies in their 40's and still losing. Keep up the good work.
  15. Awe, I'm sorry you feel like that. You will be just fine. Trust me, I regretted it for 2 weeks after the surgery. Now after 3 months, I feel great and steadily losing. It is tough in the beginning though. This too shall pass. Yes, to my surprise during my first fill I believe they said I had .3 cc's in my band already. I was shocked. Hang in there and stay positive, everything will be alright. Congrats on your life changing surgery.
  16. Hello All, I am being banded on Sept. 2nd and thought it would be nice to have a nice clean colon free from years of gunk prior to surgery. My wellness center prefers a vegan diet 2 days prior and after the cleanse; but considering I am on the 2 week pre op Medifast diet and my caloric intake has been drastically reduced, I thought I'd be ok. The clease requires a drastic reduction in the amounts/types of food for maximum benefit from the cleanse. It's the So Easy Mucoid Plaque Cleanse. In conjuction with doing the cleanse I have 2 colonics scheduled, 1 in the middle of the cleanse and 1 after I've completed the cleanse. I also scheduled to do a foot detox spa after the colonic to pull any additional toxic stuff out that the colonic may have missed. I am wanting to start my new life after banding with a clean colon and a detoxed body to maximize my chances of weight loss and increased metabolism. Has anyone else done this prior to surgery? If so, what were your results and would you recommend it? So far, I feel great, but got to be close to the ladies room for 3 days during the cleanse. I look forward to the feedback. Below is info. on all that I'm doing prior to the surgery. Enjoy!!! http://www.3daycleanse.com What is a Colonic? 17. That's normal. I was like this post op for 2 1/2 to 3 weeks and then the hunger came in like a flood. Fortunately my Dr. wanted me to have my first fill right at 4 weeks post op. You'll be fine. Congrats on your surgery and be sure to get some exercise in. It's a new day!

    grapefruits?

I've never heard you couldn't eat them. I'm about to go eat a grapefruit in a moment. I'll let you know if I have an adverse reaction from them. I certainly will not be eating the skin, just the meat of the grapefruit. Just precautionary as I don't do well with apple peel.

    Any feedback on protein drinks?

A protein drink is great after exercise. Every Dr. is different. Mine never said don't drink them, so I do.
  21. I am doing the 21 day Daniel fast with Jentezen Franklin and need some support. I need some recipes that aren't so high in carbs if you have them and don't mind sharing them. My carb count on the fast is surpassing 100 per day. I'm still losing weight, but I would like to stay below 100 grams of carbs. I did find a frozen meal at Whole Foods called Amy's Tofu Scramble that is completely vegan that is relatively low carb. (19g) It also has the same amount of protein so it's balanced. Any feed back would be appreciated. Thanks.
  22. The place I go to have colonics do this massage during the colonic for better results from the colonic. They also have what is called a soqi bed that is relaxing and helps you achieve better results from a colonic. Glad you tried something different. Congrats on your wedding!
  23. As we go into a New Year (2009), it's nice to reflect on our past year for what goals we accomplished and those we didn't accomplish and set new goals for the New Year. Now the goal is to set "attainable" goals, both short term and long term. Short-term goals are ones that you will achieve in the near future (e.g., in a day, within a week, or possibly within a few months). Long-term goals are ones that you will achieve over a longer period of time (e.g., one semester, one year, five years, or twenty years). Long-term goals often are our most meaningful and important goals. One problem, however, is that the achievement of these goals is usually far in the future. As a result, we often have trouble staying focused and maintaining a positive attitude toward reaching these goals. This is why it is helpful to set up what we call enabling goals. An enabling goal is a special type of shorter-term goal. It is written to help us achieve a long-term goal. Enabling goals are like stepping stones that help us measure our progress toward reaching longer-term goals. I had LB surgery in September and to date have lost 38 lbs. but did it quite haphazordly. Had I set goals for myself, I might weigh less. Setting goals is important which is why I started this thread. My goal for 2009 is to increase my exercise routine from 2-3 days to 4-6 days per week and at least 1 hour a day. Although I eat a pretty normal diet, I would like to juice fruits and vegis more and be more disciplined with meal planning so that I can stop eating by 7 P.M. every night. Short term goals include a weight loss of at least 2 lbs per week (8 lbs per month) average with the long term goal of 96 lbs by the end of 2009 causing me to reach my total (long term) weight loss goal and actually surpassing it. I look forward to you sharing what your goals are for the New Year 2009. Happy New Year and may you reach your goals!!!
