You probably shouldn't have had all of your previous fill taken out. Half may have done it for you. Good luck with that.

I have 5 scars and they have diminished a little but still very noticeable. I'm 5 months post op.

Let's talk about POOP...FLOATERS OR SINKERS
health4life replied to health4life's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
That's so disgusting! Healthy Poop is not suppose to be watery like that, that's diarrhea; it's suppose to be loosely compacted; fiberous; easy to break up. -

How often do you PB?
health4life replied to lins12's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It sounds like you are TOO tight if all you can eat is 2 pieces of bacon and you felt like throwing up. You will become malnourished if this isn't corrected. Consider having a little removed. Although I PB'd today, I have the perfect restriction yet I'm able to get a well proportioned meal down without feeling like I want to throw up. -
How often do you PB?
health4life replied to lins12's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have posted on this thread before and as I said before I HATE to throw up; however, today I went to the grocery store and they had samples of different foods. I was soooooo hungry after leaving church that I decided to try a meatball. It was so good that I took the coupon and bought a bag. When I got home, still savoring the memory of that meatball I ate at the store, I heated some up in the microwave. WRONG thing to do!!!!! I proceeded to eat 2 and got stuck so bad and for so long that I was praying to throw that mess up. After about 20 -30 mins it finally came up and much to my surprise, it was completely different than a sour stomach throw up. It tasted like the food I had just eaten but only it was mixed with slime. Even though it's different, it's still GROSS and I don't plan on doing it again. So, I have officially had my 1st PB, for whatever that's worth. -
I do and it hasn't bothered me. But as with anything else, consult you Dr.

Does any other female have this problem
health4life replied to jamd1's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have been banded now for 4 months and for the first time this month I experienced this. I had a difficult time eating green beans chewed up. I want to say it was 1 -2 days before I actually came on that I was so tight I could hardly eat. I had problems with so many foods that day. It passed as soon as I came on though. I had read about this before being banded and after banding I was quite concerned about it. It never happened and I guess I took it for granted. It's crazy how that happens. -
Do you have gas more since lapband?
health4life posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have gas just about everyday now that I've been banded and it's so much worse than before banding. I'm just wondering if this is normal and does anyone know why and who else is having the same issues? My husband is totally disgusted and can't believe this nastiness is coming out of me. What in the world can I do? -

I think it's very spa like; at least the one I go to. They play spa music and a candle is lit, but not sound proof. No noise is being made other than the gurgling sound the water emptying from the tank, but I don't think I've ever heard that coming from the room next to me. -

Sound Proof rooms in the Colon Hydrotherapy rooms? No need, the person in the next room is doing the same thing "POOPING" and anyone in there knows what's going on in those rooms. But it is funny the things you think when you see someone who just came out; like "I sure hope they washed their hands" is the question I have in my mind. I touch NOTHING after a colonic but toilet paper for the obvious, paper towels to turn on/off the faucet to wash my hands and kleenex to open the door. -

Yes I have and I love them. I have never asked the therapist about poop floating or sinking, but will on my next visit. A "hose" LOL...you're funny. BTW, $60 is a steal of a deal; I pay $650 for 10 which isn't bad, but for 1 it's $75. -
No I've never tried that but Fage Greek Yogurt is great! Very high in protein per serving and it's creamy for your stage after clear liquids. I'm not sure what your Dr. recommends after surgery, but mine was clear liquids for the first 48 hours, then pureed for 2 weeks, soft for 2 weeks then to normal. I even ate pureed Wendy's chili and it was delicious. Applesauce, protein drinks, SF puddings etc... Congrats on your surgery. The band is my best friend.

If all your are consuming is liquid, I would think your waste would be liquid. Of course I'm no expert at this Poop thing, I just know it's necessary. I just want to know "what is a healthy poop"? BTW, how are you feeling 14 days post op? Congrats! -

I didn't mean to gross anyone out, but it's all about our health right? That means we should have a healthy diet so we can have a healthy BM and not something that's gonna take days to occur or be hard little balls which indicate constipation. I'm just trying to find out what the happy medium is? Some of your replies have CRACKED me up. I certainly wouldn't recommend googling this at work though unless of course you're in the medical profession. Give this some thought or talk to a Dr you may know and get back with me. It would be interesting to get a medical perspective on this fecal matter. I found this article below, but it still doesn't tell me if poop should float or sink and other articles give conflicting answers? I've been eating NO animal products for almost a month and my poop sinks. I've heard that it floats if you consume alot of animal product but I know a personal trainer and a good friend that SWEARS that it should float. Did you poop today? Healthy Poop & Stools -

Need advice--from band to bypass???
health4life replied to skhopp's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm not expert at this but I would think if you can't lose weight with the band, you will have a difficult time losing and/or keeping it off with any other procedure. The will to lose weight begins in the mind. That's the whole purpose of the Psy. evaluation prior to LB surgery to determine if you are ready for the changes necessary . If your thinking and way of eating doesn't change, surgery alone won't cause weight loss. If you watch the current season of The Biggest Loser, you will see there is a man on there who had the RouenY Gastric Bypass surgery and is close to 400 lbs. You absolutely 100% MUST make changes with any procedure or it won't work. I have looked at the lapband as a "tool" to assist me with my weight loss and trust me it's not easy. You must put forth an effort to change your diet and exercise and the lapband will work for you. The key is YOU got to work it for it to work for you. I hope this helps you with your thought process. You can still lose weight with the band but you must be willing to change your diet and get an exercise regimin going. You've heard the saying "Fail to Plan and you Plan to Fail". Good luck in your weight loss endeavors. Frank Lloyd Wright: I know the price of success: dedication, hard work, and a devotion to the things you want to see happen. -

Post OP....How did you feel 72 hours post op??
health4life replied to WendyMary's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sore a week out but since you don't mind being sore, move forward with the surgery if you're comfortable. You'll do fine. Those who don't know will attribute your not eating with the sorrow in the loss of your grandmother. My condolences and prayers!!! -
An obervation on what scared most of us before our Lap-Band surgery.
health4life replied to Locomotive Engineer's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I didn't add that to my reply to this thread, BUT OMG YES, I too have ALWAYS been scared of not making it through a surgery and especially weight loss surgery. That too was a fear. Thank God I came through and am having GREAT success with my band. I LOVE MY BAND and God for giving someone the brains to invent it. -

health4life replied to Locomotive Engineer's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Honestly, my biggest fear was that I wouldn't be able to eat one of my favorite things "steak". I have not found that to be a problem as long as it's cooked medium and I chew small pieces. I haven't had many problems with many foods and I'm pretty restricted. -
I saw online where the weight limit was 300 lbs but my husband is 312 and works out on it with no problems.
